Politics / RIP Olusegun Agagu by areee(m): 3:39am On Sep 14, 2013
Former governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Agagun is dead.

He was born on 16 February 1948.

Dr Agagu was the Deputy Governor of the state in the botched Third Republic, when he served with Evangelist Bamidele Olumilua.

When Nigeria returned to civil rule in 1999, Dr Agagu was appointed as the Minister for Aviation by former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was sworn in as the Governor of Ondo State on May 29, 2003, a position he held till February 2009 when the courts ruled that he did not win the 2007 governorship election held in the state.

The former Governor’s death was confirmed by Ayo Fadaka, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State. He was 65.

He commenced his elementary education at St. Luke’s Anglican School, (now known as St. Paul’s Anglican School) Okitipupa, in 1954. In January 1958, he moved to live with his cousin, Edward Fagbohun in Ibadan, where he continued his primary education at Ebenezer African Church School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

In 1959 he transferred to Kano in 1959 where he studied at the Ebenezer Methodist School and Baptist Primary School Sabon-Gari, Kano. He then moved back to Ebenezer African Church School, Ibadan where he completed his primary education in 1960.

Thereafter, he was in Ibadan Grammar School between January 1961 and 1967 where he passed his West African School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate examinations. He was admitted to the University of Ibadan in 1968 to study Botany but later changed to Geology in which he graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Second Class Upper Division, in 1971. As an undergraduate, his academic record was replete with laurels and prizes.

Agagu went to the University of Texas between 1973 and 1974 for his Masters degree in Geology. Returning to Nigeria, he obtained a Ph.D degree in Petroleum Geology from the University of Ibadan in 1978.

So coincidental, this topic was discussed in our discipleship service this morning (Baptist). But what could I say amidst the old skool congregation that out rightly negate the use of e bible.
One old woman even said e bible is for those that are ashamed of Christ.

Way back at uni, I was staying off campus, i used to be in charge of nepa issues for about thirty rooms. I still remembered inconclusive meetings and funny excuses when count electrical points. A cotenant once told us that his fridge and tv are not working again. A guy that used to disturbed the whole compound with generator will never pay nepa bill until we disconnected him. They all enjoyed my regime then cos we always had light, but I later heard that I embezzled their money by some alabosi. After my program i visited the house, d entire compound celebrated like super eagle having tasted a wayo appointee.

Health / Re: Your Experience In The Hands Of Nigerian Nurses by areee(m): 7:16am On Jan 20, 2013
This reminds of my ND days at Fedpol Ede, there was this bully of a nurse. I have heard of her rudeness from my colleagues before, but lucky I don't fall sick often. As fate will have it, the school mgt subjected all students to medical examination that involved taking blood samples. Unfortunately I was directed to notorious nurse. As she inserted d string into my arm drawing blood she was talking at the same time her colleague in the lab, I was forced to asked her if blood is needed for other purpose since she wanted to filled the entire syringe. She lambasted me like no tomorrow claiming that I called her a witch (of which I did)

Properties / Agents Advice Is Needed. My Landlord Is About Moving In. by areee(m): 3:07pm On Jan 14, 2013
Hi, kindly help me out on this issue; I rented an apartment in Ibadan in february 2011 and paid a year rent. I have not defaulted in my payment since then. Around April 2012 my caretaker who happened to be the younger brother to my landlord sent me a letter introducing to me a agent. By July 2012, the agent wrote me an increment letter of about 100% increment. I called the agent for negotiation and we reached a concesus.
Suprisingly yesterday the agent called me that he would like to see me for a matter. We met and I was shocked with what he told me. That my landlord is coming to Nigeria and he want to stay in my apartment, he will be in Nigeria by June this year. It was a rude shock to me even till now. My tenancy is expiring this year but I have turned the apartment to an abode even my landlord younger brother confessed.
I need advice both agent and legal.
Thanks.
