rebekah2011: when you buy into a well-run business. You do not need to pray and fast. Just give it the time it will always come good. Buy opportunities will always come and go. Zenith and Gtbank at the moment are well run business. The valuation the coronavirus has helped to give it is an opportunity. I can assure that 2 to 3 years if the management of both banks remained focus, the long term of the holdings will be positive. However, that does not mean you cannot exit if it doubles in price before your target. Book that capital gain. was there corona last yr wen zenith sold for 15.95-16 and GTB 24? Oga am still hustling to build my capital not yet time to be thinking that long term stuff more so the indicators are there that duo u mentioned will surely tank so why will i buy a stock then lose N5 cos of dividend? even zee you mentioned will sell for N16 or below after mark down so why should i follow rush now cos of dividend. There will be units of the duo i will have that will place me on long thing but for now aluta continua |

rebekah2011: Sometimes it is not that you wish to do Long term. You are compelled by factors beyond your control most of the times. You buy a stock for N1 and pronto the business is suddenly worth N5, you are not going to sell even at N3 because you know the worth. Or you bought at N1 and they pay a dividend of 50kobo and the price later dipped to 20k but because you know what you have bought is now worth N2 you will wait now. But why should i cos of 50kobo lose my capital join? Then will be praying and fasting for a yr whereas, those that bought when it was mark down will still make good money more than me. |

Godisfaithful: Oga current price, forget about emotional posting or appealing sentence. It is my opinion not the market. This is about the economic indicators and policy around it. I’m in the market but going to be emotional in telling people what they want to hear. That’s why Nigeria is like this today. Be blunt with facts not fantasy... that is why we are Nigerians nah |

After getting an interim dividend of almost N90 million about 5 months ago, the old man will get a final dividend of almost N300 million in April. This is different from dividends, interests, income and cash flow from other numerous companies, real estates, money market investments and businesses.

Stock is like ponzi Sorry oga, stock is a ponzi to you cos you tot is a get rich quick stuff and you never bothered to study and know the nitty gritty of where u wants to put your money. i will rather buy houses from the returns of my stock investment my opinion though. For your info, with coming months are head if you are in stocks you will still loose more that is the fact and i cant hide this from you until you go back and conduct in depth research and get a mentor in the area of stock investments, your 1m will always turn to 10k in the long run. As for me and my entire house hold we shall always invest in stocks till Jesus comes. More regrets will still come after earning season |

DeRuggedProf: Whenever brokers want to trap people, it is the market of the last 15mins...... I remember following my friend to a local market, he decided to join other traders in a bar nearby. They dinned and wined, chatting all through, keeping an eye on the flow of market women, occasionally they will go out and offer very bad prices and wont even bother to continue with the bargain, return and continue drinking, clinging tightly to their cash. When the sun began to bite hard, some bold market women started collecting food on credit, promising to pay back when they sell, meanwhile, more market women poured into the market. I kept asking my friend when he is going to start buying, he kept telling me to wait until the food sellers start worrying the market women who collected food on credit to pay them........................................ wow! this is a fantastic anaylysis ooo but trying to digest it so i can know the group i belong to if that of your friend or the market women |

veecovee: The fact is that some of the present government's policies are not favourable to the stock exchange. However, I think this is the best time to buy, cause the another regime is coming after this. what of if you have exhausted all your bullets, wetin u go take buy again? I invest with common sense, those that bought later will still make money more that someone who does average down stuff. I have practised it before at the end those that sold off and re enter later even made more money more than me. How will i grow my portfolio by not been dynamic in my approach to investment? Who knows how long is going to take before market stabilise wth our fx reserve tanking everyday FPIs must be sure they dont caught in cross fire where no fx to repartrate their money back home so best bet to me stay out of market and watch the dust settles. I almost bought uba at N7.6 thinking it may not fall futher now if i had bought at 6.7 i will be making more more money than if bought at 7.5 so i must invest wt common sense! |
