No, you are not required to get a visiting visa first. We issue first time visas to pregnant mothers for childbirth when they meet the reqirements for the visa, and prior travel to the US is not one of the requirements. My advice with this post was simply to declare your true intention. This applies to all US visas. If your intention is to go to a community college, declare that. If your intention is to visit your brother, declare that. If your intention is to go camping in one of our National Parks, declare that. If your intention is to have childbirth, declare that.
Really? At this point i want to know the requirement that has to be met for child birth cos i serched online and got an hospital, westhouston medical center and paid $3,000 dollars also paid part of the dr fees and my account was well funded and yet the VO said you guys have really tried but am denying u visa. having presented to him all the correspondences from both the dr and the hospital. So what are the requirements for child birth pls i want to know. we are currently planning to apply for visiting visa both my me and my wife and our baby the later apply for child birth so we need to fortify ourselves with necessary requirements to face the VO

LagosNIV:
Hello aremso -

A valid visa grants you permission to travel to the US and request entry. CBP ultimately makes the decision whether or not to allow you in to the US. Some people who did not declare the intent to have childbirth in the US are allowed in by CBP. Some are not. If you are planning to have a baby in the US and you did not previously disclose that intent to a VO, you have two options. Your first option, and my recommendation, is to apply for a new visa without using dropbox, have an interview, and disclose your current intent to have childbirth in the US during the interview. This is the safest option, as your intent will then be documented in the system, and you are much less likely to be turned away at the Port of Entry while heavily pregnant after the expense and the long flight to the US. Your second option is to continue with the visa that you have, and bring all the necessary documents to the Port of Entry, and hope for the best.

I want to emphasize this point, as I see it being discussed here often. Sending a "change of intent letter" has no effect. It does not go into the file or into the casenotes, it does not get to CBP in any way. The only way to ensure that your changed intent is documented is to apply for a new visa and have a new interview.
Many thanks LagosNIV, so u advise that we get a visiting visa 1st, go for the visit and then come back to reapply with the intent of birthing not minding the valid visa currently runing?

Cleared, satisfied by the horses mouth.. ..
after the wedding in 2016 i went to the embassy with my wife to get visa for us on honey moon but we were denied though the VO kept hammering on the date we wedded which we told him the actual time but he kept hammering on the date we married then i later discovered i had booked the appointment and stated that we wre married b4 getting to the embassy then he asked us again which is contrary to the info in the ds 160 we got married in dec and we booked appointment in sept knowing that we would have married before then that was why i filled that we are married. We made our intention known that she wants to go and give birth and even with the evidences of payments of hospital bill and the correspondences, she was denied thrice so even with the intentions made known to them they still denied her. my question now is does making the intentions known to them guaranty visa issuance?

Some seven, eight years back I used to search for earlier dates at about noon and it worked for me which made some office colleagues think I had special magic wand. Other people were virtually on their laptop searching for new dates, after a while a limit was introduced to how many times you can log in within a certain period. Equally, rescheduling of appointment dates was limited to twice unlike what obtain years back.

The truth is that no agent (or anyone for that matter) has an edge on getting earlier appointment dates.
You may be write too no doubt but in my wife case, it happened withing 2weeks interval and i have given my own 2 kobo as regards that

I don't believe it, if there's an open date, then there's an open date
The only reason he may have been able to book a date closer, is when an applicant cancels his/her appointment.. ..
All application is treated equally
mind you, its human being that are incharge of these system and arrangement so you are only limited to the level of knowledge you are aware about and and if you are not deeply rooted in the ways things are done, u may not know how it wrk. Am not praising the agent and i have not even met him one on one we were only talking on fone. the same agent when one of our enginerr was denied visa at the france embasy, he was called and he collected the documents took it to the embassy and the engineer was later called from the french embassy to come for his visa. so my friend we are only limited to what we know

Except that I can't find an agent
when my wife was preggy and we wanted to deliver our baby in US the but the time was very short, the agent helped us book an ealier date even about 2 times with a very short time like 2 weeks interval although the visa was denied but the agent never collected a dime from us cos my wife was denied visa. Though the person was introduced to me by my colleague in the office and we only spoke on phone but he gave me the terms and i told him to go ahead but nothing collected cos the visa was denied i think we made the initial mistake which made it difficult for her to get the visa. Mind you, he does not collect a dime from me until wrk is done. If i had known this forum b4 applying, we would have been given visa but cetain agent can get u an earlier date am very sure of this cos they did it for my wife

I use this functionality a lot not because I didn't want contradictions since truth is constant but for convenience.

Having said that, you need your old DS-160 confirmation number and answer to your defined security question. The first five letters of your surname and year of birth are taken for granted.
When you open the DS-160 form website, use the retrieve functionality to recall the old form and create a new application.
Many thanks

You have invested a lot on attempt to travel to the US. From my rough calculation over 200k on visa application, over 700k to Dubai to gather points and possibly another 700k to U.K. for points. At lease a further 3.5m on birthing cost in US. Is there a war in Nigeria? If you invest 5m in a business in Nigeria it will likely give good returns.

Anyway may God grant the desire of your heart. Amen.
Amen and God will surely grant it in Jesus name. Am doing that for my children and not for myself so if i have 10m, i will spend it on my wife giving birth in the US. Am of the future if Jesus Tarries. Train the children in the fear and admonition of the Lord and give them the best education in a good enviroment bet u my brother, you will have rest at your old age. So am aware of the investment you are talking about and i also have reasons for my actions. Many thanks

I said it before. I'll say it again. If the issue was misrepresentation , acquiring travel history does not solve it.
I do not understand the transcript. Did u guys misrepresent or not. A simple yes or no would do
there was nothing like misrepresentation cos she was no pregnant as at the time we went to the embassy

@ LadyG. I think the error came from me from the first interview wen we went together we got married in dec 2015 and i had filled the form in july to book the slot and in the form i stated that we had married since we would have been married by the following january 4th, 2006. which was the time we booked. so i think we time of marriage we told them contradict what was filled in the form. the interview goes does.

VO= good morning
Me= good moring
vo= can i have your passport
me&wife = handed the passport to him
vo= why do u want to go us
me= to have our honey moon
vo= where do u work,
me= i wrk in so and so
vo = can you tell me about your job
me= i told me
the vo the bombarded my wife with question

Vo= madam what do u do.
wife= a teacher
vo= wen did you guys get married
both= we told him
vo= what type of marriage
both= church wedding
vo= what date
both= we told him he then checked his computer for some minutes and faced us again
vo= whre are you going in the us
me= we had booked an hotel
vo= why do you chose to book the hotel in that place
me= started to tell the whole grammer cos i never prepared for that answer
vo= Have you guys travelled b4
both= no this our first time
Vo face his computer and type for some second and the said he is sorry our visa is denied the handed over our passport to us.
the subsequent once that my wife attended, it was she alone that went inside the embassy. but i dont give up on things unless i dont have resources to pursue that course. some one is about to give us an invitation from uk, should we go to uk 1st and then reaaply at the us embassy? kindly advice. my wife went to dubai after the first interview but am yet to travel to any where

LadyGuinivere:
Did you misrepresent at all no matter how tiny you think it was during the first interview? Take for example was Madam pregnant the first time you guys applied? If yes. If you want visit Mars and mercury with thier green visas stamped, you won't gerrit.
The key is honesty to yourself cos the vo won't tell you what the first vo wrote in her notes. You guys will just be dashing them money
