izaray:The truth is paying up in a year will be a burden on him. This is one of the reason why some riders fail to pay owners along the way. I suggest you extend the repayment period for him to 18 months and make him make a daily payment of 2k. If he however prefer to pay weekly, don't press it, let him pay 14k weekly. When signing an agreement, make him understand that since keke have a terrible second hand value, you are taking the risk of losing more than 50% of your capital if he messes up the payment plan and you take your keke back. So he too will lose all the money he have paid for the keke earlier. |
izaray:let's start with how much do you intend to sell the keke to him? |
izaray:Very serious. Besides, how do he plan to payback in 1yr? 10k weekly is not upto the price of a brand new keke. |
Appeared better with the beard |
grossintel:This answer is so on point. Sorry about your mums circumstances. The unfortunate thing is that keke napep have a terrible second hand value, so even if you decide to collect your keke and sell, you will hardly recoup your capital. The keke you bought at 600k+ can hardly be sold for 300k. |

Two former Katsina State government officials were yesterday arraigned on a 7-count charge of alleged misappropriation of about N650 million at the Department of Subsidy Reinvestment Programme (SURE-P) between June 2014-May 2015. They duo, a former Director of Finance at SURE-P, Abdullahi Shinkafi and a former Chief store officer in the office of the Head of Service, Bello Bindawa, pleaded not guilty to the charge when read to them. Earlier, the trial judge, Justice Maikaita Bako, had to rule on an impasse between the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences (ICPC) and the State Attorney-General on who has the right to prosecute the case were he maintained that the state attorney, having gotten the delegation of the Federal attorney-general, is the one to prosecute the matter. The Federal Government has set aside N8.3 billion for the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, (NAIA) Abuja in the 2018 appropriation bill, the minister of Budget and National Planing, Udoma Udo Udoma, has said. Speaking yesterday at the 2018 budget public presentation in Abuja, Udoma said the project is necessary to avoid a repeat of the embarrassing situation of closing down the airport for maintenance in the future. Early this year, the government closed down the airport for six weeks to enable reconstruction of the only runway of the airport. The 2nd runway project was first included in the 2017 budget but due to shortage of fund, it was rolled over to 2018. Other transport projects listed in the 2018 budget are: N162.28 billion counterpart funding for Railway projects including: Lagos-Kano (ongoing), Calabar-Lagos (ongoing), Ajaokuta-Itakpe-Aladja (Warri) (ongoing), Port Harcourt - Maiduguri (New), Kano-Katsina-Jibiya-Maradi in Niger Republic (New), Abuja-Itakpe and Aladja (Warri)-Warri Port and Refinery including Warri New Harbour (new) and N2.03 billion Construction of Terminal Building at Enugu Airport. The Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts recently endorsed the second runway project, during a visit to the airport. The committee, led by its chairman, Sen. Shehu Sani, gave the endorsement during the inspection of the second runway site yesterday at the Abuja airport during an oversight function. President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Ebonyi State on an official visit, the first such trip since he took office in 2015. In the South-east state, the president called for unity among Nigerians and promised more developmental projects for the region. Here is his full speech delivered in the state capital, Abakaliki. SPEECH DELIVERED BY HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, AT THE STATE VISIT TO EBONYI ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2017, AT THE ABAKALIKI TOWNSHIP STADIUM PROTOCOLS: I am delighted to be in Abakiliki today to interact with the good people of this State and indeed, the South East (Ndigbo) region as a whole. 2. I want to express my gratitude to Ndi Ebonyi for their hospitality and warm reception since our arrival in Abakiliki a few hours ago. 3. In the last few hours, I have commissioned some landmark projects and laid the foundation stones for the Ebonyi City Mall and a flyover bridge projects. I commend His Excellency, Governor David Umahi for his vision and commitment to the development of his State. 4. In the course of my visit, I also had the honour and privilege of unveiling the statue of a great Nigerian, Sir Akanu Ibiam, whose notable records of humanitarianism, advocacy of free primary education and rural development, will continue to be an inspiration to all. 5. I am also grateful to the people of Ebonyi as well as the South East traditional rulers, who today, bestowed on me traditional titles. To the Ndi Ebonyi, I am ENYIOMA 1 (Good Friend) and to the South East, I am OCHIOHA OF NDIGBO. I thank you for this honour and kind gesture. 6. My presence here today is a demonstration of our strong belief in the unity of Nigeria. As the most populous country in Africa, with over 300 ethnic groups, our diversity is almost unique among nations. 7. The people of the South East are known for their ingenuity, industrial and commercial talent. There is no part of Nigeria where you will not find Igbo entrepreneurs, both men and women, contributing to the development of their adopted communities. 8. So I am asking you all not to buy into the senseless propaganda on secession. Igbo is Nigeria and Nigeria is Igbo. Both are inseparable. 9. We must therefore continue to commit ourselves to the development of Nigeria. A Nigeria where we sustain our national unity without compromising on our cultural identities. A Nigeria where the aspirations of its people is guaranteed without prejudice to tribe or religion. A Nigeria, where we can sleep at night knowing that tomorrow will be better than today. 10. The task of nation building is a continuous one. It never stops. Our founding fathers, from all corners of this country, worked together to actualize the creation of one Nigeria. 11. After independence, the same founding fathers worked together to maintain this one Nigeria. Yes, they had differences and varied opinions at times. After all, they were only human. And yes, they had moments of weaknesses and doubt. But again, no one is perfect. However, one thing they all protected until the end of their lives was having one Nigeria for all Nigerians. 12. Today, Nigeria is 57 years old. Nigeria has gone through many pains. But has also achieved significant successes. Its citizens are leaders in all aspect of human development. But we rarely celebrate these successes more. Some misguided Nigerians would rather channel their energy to propagating negative stories and senseless rumours. 13. Over 60% of Nigeria’s population is under 25 years old. They have little knowledge of Nigeria’s journey. They were not born during the dark days of civil war and the nation rebuilding that happened afterwards. 14. The task of nation building is a continuous one. It relies on the successful transition of factual knowledge from one generation to another. This means it is our collective responsibility to ensure we do not betray our founding fathers as we transfer the Nigeria project from one generation to the next. 15. As our national anthem says; “the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain” 16. So parents, speak to your children about the importance of their heritage, culture and being open minded. Teachers, teach your students about the history of this nation and how it was a coalition of diversity that brought it to existence. And leaders, we must lead by example and show tolerance and acceptance of diversity. 17. Today, most grievances expressed by all Nigerians, not only those in the south east, is lack of jobs, poor infrastructure and basic amenities. We are working aggressively to address these. 18. We are building roads, hospitals and schools. We are expanding our power transmission infrastructure while supporting the generation and distribution companies to ensure more power is delivered to our homes. We are developing agricultural programs that will create more jobs while making Nigeria food secure 19. For example, we recently mobilized the contractor of the 2nd Niger Bridge back to site. We have also made provisions in the 2018 budget proposal to ensure this project is completed as early as possible. 20. We are also upgrading the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia by constructing a Modern Medical Diagnostic Centre. This will further bring quality and affordable health care to the region. 21. In the agricultural sector, the States in this region have participated in all Federal Government agricultural initiatives. For instance, Ebonyi was among the first few State Government’s to sign up to the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative. The program has already created thousands of direct and indirect jobs in this fertile part of the our country. 22. I would like to congratulate Governor Umahi who put aside his political differences to participate in this federally led project that has improved the lives of not only the farmers of Ebonyi State, but the entire South East States. 23. For the South East, I am pleased to inform you that our 2018 budget proposal has allocated up to N10 billion for the development of the Enyimba Industrial Park and Nnewi Auto Park. Both projects will be implemented in collaboration with the respective state Governments and the private sector. Again, these are classic examples of the partnerships between the Federal and State Governments in the region to improve the livelihoods of Nigerians – politics aside. 24. In October 2017, we commenced the payment of pensions to police officers who were granted Presidential pardon in 2000 after serving in the former Biafran Police during the 30 month civil war. These officers, and their next of kin, have waited for their pensions for 17 years since the Presidential pardon. 25. I want to assure the Ndigbo that the welfare and well-being of every Nigerian is important to us. We stand for inclusivity and will not leave any section or citizen behind. 26. I thank you most sincerely for your attention and warm reception. 30. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. http://arewawatch..com.ng/2017/11/what-buhari-told-ebonyi-people-full.html |
The National Biosafety Management Agency, NBMA, said it has, in conjunction with the Nigerian Customs Service, ordered that the genetically modified (GM) maize consignment illegally imported into Nigeria be sent back. Rufus Egbegba, the Director-General of NBMA, said this at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja. “In view of the information and facts on ground, the agency, in fulfilment of its mandate and in collaboration with the Nigerian Customs Service, ordered the repatriation of the maize consignment with immediate effect,’’ he said. He recalled that in October, the agency was informed of the importation of a large maize consignment. Mr. Egbegba said: “The NBMA had to step in to avert the release of the maize consignment into the country due to the failure of the importing company to obtain a GM seed import permit from the NBMA,’’ he said. “Representatives of the company were invited to provide more information on the GM status of their import, after which the NBMA proceeded to obtain samples and conduct laboratory tests to ascertain the GM status of the imported maize. “The results of the analysis and the tests by an independent laboratory of six samples showed categorically that the maize imports were actually genetically modified maize.’’ The director-general stressed that the NBMA was proactive and would not tolerate any illegalities or shortcuts in its efforts to protect the lives of Nigerians and the integrity of their environment. “The essence of ensuring that permit is granted before the release of any genetically modified seed, grains, or organisms is to ensure that risks assessment is carried out to ascertain their safety to the environment and human health,’’ he said. Mr. Egbegba, therefore, advised all stakeholders to abide by the extant biosafety laws to avoid any form of sanction. “The advice is in line with the NBMA Act, Part VII. “It states that no person, institution or body shall import, export, transit or commercialise any genetically modified organism or product intended for direct use as food or feed, or for processing unless with the approval of the Agency. “The NBMA is by this Act empowered to sanction any erring party for importing or releasing unauthorised genetically modified products, be it grains or any kind of seed, as the case may be. “The Act made it clear that any person, institution or body that wishes to import, export, transit or otherwise carry out such activities, or undertake confined field trial, multi-locational trial or commercial release of a GMO, shall apply to the Director-General of NBMA prior to such activity.’’ Mr. Egbegba assured the citizens that their safety was the priority of NBMA and urged them to see the agency as a dependable body that could protect their interests. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Customs Service recently impounded 90 tonnes of GM maize, valued at about $10 million, which was illegally imported into the country through the Apapa seaport in Lagos. The GM maize was reportedly imported from Argentina. (NAN) Source: http://arewawatch..com.ng/2017/11/nigeria-to-send-back-illegally-imported.html |

The newly elected leadership of the PDP in Adamawa State has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and all former members to return to the party. The state chairman of the party, Barrister Tahir Shehu, made the call on their behalf at the inauguration ceremony held yesterday in Yola. He cautioned members that his style of leadership would be based on all-inclusiveness, transparency and accountability, saying the era of impunity had gone for good. He therefore appealed to founding fathers, major stakeholders and other influential party sympathizers who for some obvious reasons defected from the party to other political parties to reconsider the decision of returning to PDP. He listed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Hon. Adamu Kamale, Hon. Emmanuel Tsamdu (Deputy Speaker, Adamawa State Assembly) among others, saying this was the right time for their return. He said reconciliation committees would be formed at the local government and ward levels to reconcile with aggrieved members. “I am personally calling on Dr. Umar Ardo and Hon. Bobboi to sheath their swords and let them join their hands with us to take the party to greater height,” he pleaded. Babalawos:I don't believe that substances found in nature can not be patented. plumpy-nut for example is produced from peanut/groundnut, milk, sugar, etc and is used for the treatment of severe and acute malnutrition. It is a product once said to be as important as the discovery of penicillin. But a company called NUTRISET holds the patent for the product in Europe and several countries including the USA. |
