A group in Kaduna that goes by the name Kaduna Restoration Group (KRG) has made know its dissatisfaction with the second term bid of Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna state.

The group also doubt the fact that the sitting governor can even win the upcoming governorship election, stating that it is aware that the governor is just so desperate to remain in power after 2019.

The group also accused the governor, of orchestrating his second term endorsement by a section of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) according to the statement jointly signed by Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan and Yusuf Dankofa, chairman and secretary of the group respectively.

The statement read: ''We are also aware of the desperation of the governor and his cronies, who have clearly seen that despite their hollow propaganda to project their so called candidate as the best thing to have happened to Kaduna state in recent times, have realised that the masses of Kaduna state and other teeming stakeholders, have come to understand that the governor is simply unsellable and unelectable in 2019.

It is based on the above background that the said political jobbers, who are themselves political liabilities with zero electoral value, decided to adopt this ‘black market’ approach to clear the coast for their benefactor, which is an antithesis to all known democratic ethos that embody fair contest and choice for the people.''


According to the group, ''After spending about three years in office, Governor el-Rufai had dissipated more energy in fighting and abusing perceived enemies, apart from embarking on white elephant and multitude of incomplete and abandoned projects. ''No wonder the banters in the political space, that ‘in states like Adamawa there is work’, while ‘in Kaduna, there is noise’, are fast becoming a trend in social media.

It has come to the notice of ArewaWatch that two members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defecting members are Honorable Yusuf Tijani, representing from Kogi state and Honorable Zaphaniah Gisalo representing Abuja municipal area council.

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) said yesterday that it will put the indigenous people of biafra (IPOB) and their collaborators to shame put by ensuring a peaceful independence celebration today.

The coalition stated this while reacting to the bench warrant obtained from the court by the Kaduna state government to arrest its members for giving October 1, 2017 as deadline for Igbos leaving in the North to quit or be forced out of the region.

In a statement issued yesterday by its spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, the CNG said it was curious that despite the well-publicized withdrawal of an earlier quit notice against Igbos, el-Rufai of Kaduna State insists on refreshing its memory by deliberately going to the market square with news of another plot to arrest the signatories to the Kaduna Declaration for their strategic response to IPOB’s serial insults against northerners”.

The Arewa youths called on all Northerners to “once again remain true to their cultured nature by keeping calm, law abiding”.
The coalition urged Northerners to resist “the temptation to be used to destabilize this administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, which is the ultimate aim of IPOB and its Northern collaborators.”

While assuring Northerners of CNG’s resolute commitment to the protection of the integrity of the region, its leaders, elders and values, the Arewa youths urged them “to once again put IPOB and its northern collaborators to shame by ensuring a peaceful 1st October celebration devoid of untoward incidents.”
