@ vkings
as a packager you can also do well by applying for APICs  certification exam in CPIM, believe me it will take you as far as you can imagine, Guinness plc has recommended this certification course for all its senior management staff. you can go here www.apics.com

For quality control you can do  ISO 9001:2000 Quality management System courses IRCA certified.
Both certifications are cost intensive but they will set you apart from your peers and move you ahead www.irca.com

cheers

Career / Re: What Would You Do If U Weren't Afraid? by argentina: 11:45am On Sep 14, 2010
Bros , i reason with you on ur examples and i will postulate more on them on the contrary,
the carpenter know's he has to acquire more skill, but he is content with the little he knows and does not want to bother himself any further, such a fellow is looking for quick bucks , in the first place the carpentry thing is not what he really wants to do but just something to pass the time hoping that one day he will hit it BIG hook or crook,
that is why he jumps on the okada riding bang wagon when he sees, maybe his friend or neighbour coming home with money!!

In this life nothing good comes easy , it requires hard work ,perseverance, and painstaking patience to attain to whatever height one has to reach.

Naturally human beings always look for the easier way out, which is the bane of our society among our youths and some of our leaders, nobody cares how u makes it to the top.

the security Gaurd that stays in one room with 2 wives and 8 children choose to live that way, afterall he sees u an upwardly mobile ivy league proffesional, does he not like to be like u? do u have 2 wives and 8 children??

i bet u if he knows what u have to go thru to get to were u are i bet he will find it too time wasting and cumbersome .so he has to utilize his time in procreation and sleeping on duty the next morning, how does that translate to wealth

Every body has a choice in life to be wat they want to be , poverty and riches is a choice, the amount of energy u put in uplifting urself is still the same amount of energy u expend doing NOTHING!!

In everything u do there is a price tag!!, as u can bear me witness, where u are today was as a result of the plan and positive action u took years back!!, no be beans!!

and i know the road has not been smooth either, so it takes the brave and determined hearted to take a bold step to change ones destiny, our destiny is in our hands

some peeps are not ready to pay that price, no matter the amount of information that is open to dem, of what use is the information to one if u can not act on it.

they say information is power, but that information will be of no use to the person who do not know what to make of it.

ignorance is not bliss, this is the information age.
Career / Re: What Would You Do If U Weren't Afraid? by argentina: 2:10pm On Sep 13, 2010
^^^^^ i don't think its ignorance, some peeps know what it takes to try , but fear of failure keeps them from even venturing, some its just what will people say - public opinion and approval, others its just sheer procrastination due to attained comfort zones and reluctance to act.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Are There Still Jobs Out There? by argentina: 6:54pm On Jun 26, 2010
^^^^^ its not that easy, remember , Nigerian university system do not teach their students to be enterpreneurs but obedient employees , besides if she decide to learn a trade wat type of trade would she learn?? and where is she going to get the capital to start??, its an uphill task for the present day Nigerian graduate undecided

my advice is she start small , i.e try and get a low paying job 2 keep body and soul 2gether and then keep on searching 4 something better, there is always a way

sappiel:

For those wanting to attend the new SAP Academy in Lagos, they are starting the HR module this June, but for other modules, I will give you the date when I know. Please note:::: It has nothing to do with me!!!!!!!!!! I am just aware of it by chance. However, I can arrange a discount on the price if there is a bulk attendance. Just to let you know also, some of the attendees are from Ghana and Cameroun, that shows theres no other one around. Was told its for 4 weeks intensive and cert exams are arranged.

hi sappiel , where is the sap academy situated in Lagos? please ur reply is needed urgently, enjoy ur wkend

thnk God for network sites like dis
pls i need u guy help wrt the ffg
1.i need to get a certification in logistics and scm wat are the requirements
ANS: bsc should be enough to get u started

2.how precisely do i need.
ans: as stated above

can i get material and then take the exams
Ans: ofcourse you can ,but with special arrangment.

3.who regulates scm in nigeria
there is a local arm that deals with logistic and transport NILT or something like that, thats the local arm within Nigeria alone, for the international body , CIPS (UK) and APICs (USA)

4.how long will it take me to get certified in scm
it all depends on ur level of preparation ,for cips ,if you are really determined it will take u maybe 2 and half years to get ur MCIPS, for APICS 1 year or thereabout

5.wat is the nature of exam online or live
for CIPS its live!!! theory all true, not easy at all!!, for APICS both live and computer base, obj and theory.

6.how available are materials
materials are available in two ways : you can order directly from the school or get it from accredited learning centres, at a fee though

7.wat are best options pls
you can take the CIPS route which is more common because u pay thru british council 4 ur exam and membership fees, but u source the materials urself, for APICS , there is multimix logistics, there are the accredited learning centre in Nigeria fee is around 360k, not cheap if u might say ,includes both exam and training fee,
so the choice is up to you
for CIPS you go thru level 4 to level 6 to get the MCIPS but for APICs, its just a one off training and exam.the CIPS route is cheaper but takes time, the APICS is shorter but is more expensive, so ? there u go

thx

Career / Re: What Do You Think Of People Who Cheat Their Way Through School by argentina: 8:00pm On Apr 09, 2010
hi guys i just read this post and laughed out loud at the poster, what did hell r u doing whinning over other peoples decision, i was once like you one time when i was in uni, i would snub at those who cheat and will have nothing to do with them, but at the end what happens??, em, they get the good grades! shocked and get a good job with it and nobdy gives a hoot whether the certificate is bought or not ,whether they have any thing upstairs or not! BUT, and A BIG BUT, one thing still remains there things u can get away with and there are things you cannot get a with!!
i will give u an examplea friend of mine was smart enough to jamesbond his way into school and jamesbond a good grade with it, he applied for ajob with grade and got the job, a mouth watering job with one of the oil servicing giants, he was immediately made the head of the engineering drilling team but guess what?, he failed woefully, he did not know how to coodinate a team to carry out a project without overshooting budget thats one ,
another example is somebody who saw an advert for an engineering job, took someones cv that matched the criteria for that job,did some cosmetic surgerry on the cv and submitted and the day of the interview,he was takent o the site and told to practicalise what he claimed to know, but alas my guy goofed, infact if not for the intervention of the white man that was supervising he would killed himself and everybody else for that matter,so like i said, there things u can get away with and there THINGS u just cannot not get away with, experience and technically know how is one of them,
you cannot cheat to get experience, what u dont know ,men u bleeping ,dont know!!
take SAP for intance ,how can u cheat on that?, or is it project management ?, so thats just my 2 kobo, or is it two cent? shocked me i know sabi
