The international youth forum gathered outstanding young leaders from across the globe and Amb. Deborah Chidera Arikibe, stood out as a strong voice for Nigeria and Africa. Her participation highlights the excellence, innovation, and leadership that Nigerian youths continue to demonstrate on the global stage. This remarkable achievement not only projects Nigeria’s talent and potential but also serves as an inspiration for other young people across the country. Family, friends, and colleagues have expressed joy at her accomplishment, urging the government, institutions, and private sector to support more platforms that enable Nigerian youths to showcase their capabilities internationally. Deborah Chidera Arikibe, a 20-year-old youth leader, advocate, and changemaker from Nigeria, currently based in the UK. My journey is rooted in faith, resilience, and the belief that young people can transform nations. Leadership & Advocacy in the UK Since 2021, I have served with Youth Aspire Connect (YAC) as Youth Ambassador, Research Assistant, and Team Lead. I co-led an award-winning Anti-Racism Campaign that produced Just Ignore It (Into Film Award, 2024), screened across UK schools to spark vital conversations on racism and kindness. Alongside this, I co-developed an anti-racism policy adopted by 20+ schools and organisations. My advocacy also extends to mental health. I collaborated on NHS and Wellcome Trust-funded projects addressing barriers faced by young people of colour, amplifying voices often left unheard. Representing Nigeria Globally In 2025, I had the honour of representing Nigeria at the 18th Asia Youth International Model United Nations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Serving in the UN Tourism Council, I authored a position paper on Balancing Cultural Preservation & Environmental Protection through Sustainable Tourism. Nigeria had not been represented at this forum since 2016, stepping into that gap was humbling and transformative, reaffirming my mission to reshape narratives about Nigeria and its youth. Recognition & Vision My work has been recognised with several awards, reflecting the power of young people who step forward to lead. Building on this, I founded the DC RIKIS Foundation, a registered charity dedicated to: * Advancing education for women, girls & disadvantaged youth, * Relieving poverty through resources & economic empowerment, * Promoting equality, diversity & anti-discrimination, * Advancing mental health & well-being in underserved communities, * Developing leadership & economic independence. The Journey Ahead I remain committed to youth leadership, women’s empowerment, mental health, anti-racism, and diplomacy. To scale this vision, my foundation is seeking sponsors, partners, and enablers who believe in empowering young people to create inclusive, sustainable change. 📩 Contact: deboraharikibe@gmail.com/info@dcrikisfoundation.com Representing Nigeria is not the end of my journey, it is only the beginning. By His enablement, I will continue carrying our stories of resilience and hope to the world. |
#IELTS is into a real business! Price keeps increasing as demand increases with no addition or improvement in services. Many institutions now require an English Test for basic things such as visa applications! Even from native speakers! Wondering if they operate a commission-based system with institutions? The worst is that the IELTS exam score expires after 2 years! I don't understand the logic behind that. If not for making money, why should the score expire after 2 years? You learn English and forget it after 2 years or what? Help me understand! Who owns the IELTS system? The IELTS business model is one example of the rich oppressing the poor! Am I speaking your mind? Share this post widely and tag IELTS Official, maybe it will get to people that can make a change! |

So terrible at Washington embassy. The people working there are mostly touts. Wondering how they got to that level. We need to act fast from shaving the country from shame.see attached https://embassy-finder.com/nigeria_in_washington_usa?page=3

The same experience I had in Washington embassy. Very rude and arrogant personnel working there. You see them begging for dollars before they coukd attend to. I almost slap one of them. He should thank his he later kept quiet when he realised I was about dealing with him. Our country is so corrupt. Not even a single security at the embassy. You just walk in and walk out. No printing paper. The toilets are in a bad state. Who did this to us? We need a total overhauling of our country. I regret being a Nigerian. |
