I’m 25 and I’ve been to about 12 countries, planned a road trip to Accra and Abidjan scheduled for late December, paid for return my flight tickets from my state to Lagos ( which is my point of exit) then proceeded to buy guo bus tickets from Lagos to Accra (I love planning ahead), only to stumble across few posts of people who have done similar road trips that their passports were seized after this genuine road trips by embassies who accused them of fake visa stamps - here on Nairaland , it just made lose interest in going by road, I’ve had several visas in my passport, 2 of which are still valid. I wouldn’t want saving 300k by not using flight to destroy things for me And I just read online that guo has no refund policy, I’m about heading to their office here to plead for my ticket to be canceled.
What do y’all think ? |

Please any airlines I can book and hold payment? you don’t need to hold the booking, even the embassy would advice you not to make any payments, just use the booking like that it, make it and print it or store it in pdf, won’t cause you any issues, I only paid for mine to be held cause I had the visa with me- but had other things to use money for. |

Please I am trying to book flight Reservation with ethiopianairlines.com but its requesting for payment..pls how do I book and hold or which other airlines can I do Reservation without paying you’re not suppose to pay for reservations, just get an unpaid reservation that matches with your travel plans, wether it disappears or not is not a problem, it’s just there to demonstrate you have solid plans. |
You will not need a transit visa when traveling through Turkish Airlines with a layover in Istanbul. However, you will be confined to the international transit area and cannot leave the airport. Stay vigilant and attentive to all information, scrutinize every detail carefully.Turkish Airlines has an unfortunate pattern of withholding information when disclosure might incur costs. I experienced this firsthand during a journey to Germany via Istanbul. When they canceled a flight in Abuja, my trip was disrupted for 20 hours. They provided hotel accommodation in Abuja for one night, which seemed promising. Yet upon reaching Istanbul, their officials became inexplicably hostile to reasonable questions, and I spent the night sleeping on an airport chair. Only the following morning did I discover they had quietly lodged some passengers from our Abuja flight in an airport hotel, information never offered to me despite my inquiries.Be proactive and assertive with your questions. Don't accept vague responses or dismissive gestures. Since I suspect this is your first time traveling with them, understand that you must advocate for yourself. Their customer service philosophy appears to prioritize cost containment over passenger welfare, particularly during disruptions.
Thank you I may not use them again after this |

DocDre55: Hi Greetings everyone
Please I need your advice on how to go about my application with tourist visa application especially how to explain my finances .I intend to do a 2 weeks holiday in August.Going to see my elder sister and the Family who are British citizens.I will be staying at their place during holiday but I will be sponsoring myself 100% .
I do a 9-5 job here and I earn 578k monthly.I also run a Logistics Company as my side business.I pay my self 1m - 1.5M monthly from it . Last year 2024 total Inflow into the business account was 153M .I have a fixed deposit of 12M with RenMoney MFB and upto 25M investment in mutual funds. I plan to spend £3K for the trip.
For the business account my CAC annual returns is upto date, but Tax clearance isn't yet
My worry is,my salary account which receives 578k monthly.I still use it for other personal and business transactions that runs into several millions.
What's the best explanation to give on these inflows on my salary account
This is the first time I am applying for a visa.I am married with 2 kids but I am going alone
I will appreciate a sound advice
Thanks I believe there’s still time for you to organize your account and have an application that is free of money lodgement explanations. Let your salary account be for your salaries alone, monthly expenditures should be similar for all months. |

b31164707: Wow, wow, wow! I'm so sorry to hear this. Did they lose your bag on the Lagos to Istanbul route? After hearing about this unfortunate incident, I'm not going to bother flying with Turkish anymore. Can't risk having an airline lose my bag in 2025. My choice is between Qatar Airways and Air Peace now. No Istanbul to Lagos, Apparently they said the plane had excess luggage, they didn’t inform us prior to our departure, only to arrive and we could see our luggage’s at the luggage claim It was about 5 of us |

b31164707: Thank you. I agree Qatar Airways is very good, but I'm inclined to give Turkish Airlines a try since I've never used them before and since they appear to be quite affordable. I also noticed a significant price difference between the two airlines. Turkish Airlines is about 1.2m Naira for a round-trip (not bad), while Qatar is about 1.8 to 1.9m Naira for a round-trip after choosing seats, hence I'll be saving good money by using Turkish Airlines. Hopefully, they won't disappoint me. yea Turkish lost my bag in November, got it back after 5 days, 0 compensation |

b31164707: Good morning everyone. I'm currently debating between using Qatar Airways to London via Doha and Turkish Airlines to London via Istanbul. I know they're both good airlines, but can anyone who has used both recommend the better option especially for layovers in Qatar or Turkey? Turkish Airlines is the more affordable option, but I'm also prioritizing excellent customer service, hospitality and safety. Thank you Qatar airlines is much better IMO |

davodyguy: My advice was on the premise of what you earn.
If you earn so much, then you should pay so much, which is about 1/3 or what you earn. That's how it is in most countries in the world.
But if you have have ₦300,000 per annum, it's simple.
You can walk up to any LIRS tax station, they would help you produce 3 years tax clearance
2022 ₦300,000 2023 ₦300,000 2024 ₦300,000
They would gladly jump at this offer, because it would help them meet their target given to them by the government.
I just like helping people, I don't know why, may be because if my background and upbringing, reason I always breakdown posts in very lengthy fashion, so you can easily understand
The attachment is exactly how TCC in Lagos State Looks like. Exactly how it is. Your image would appear, name and signature of Ayo Subair, who's the Chairman of LIRS Thank you I will do this right away |

davodyguy: Dont quote me out of context or make up what I did not say
N2million gross per month is N24million per year.
30% of that money should go for tax
Summary If you make ₦24,000,000 a year living in Nigeria, you will be taxed ₦7,467,200. That means that your net pay will be ₦16,532,800 per year, or ₦1,377,733 per month. Your average tax rate is 31.1% and your marginal tax rate is 32.0%. This marginal tax rate means that your immediate additional income will be taxed at this rate. For instance, an increase of ₦100 in your salary will be taxed ₦31.98, hence, your net pay will only increase by ₦68.02.
choice is yours. “With what you said you earn, your annual tax should not be less than ₦1million if you're to be properly assessed.” I’m not taking you out of context or making what you didn’t say, I just included the advice you gave me which I wholeheartedly appreciated, neither did I relay it in a negative way, please don’t turn me into a liar in a public forum. Thanks for your advice once again |
