Nigerian agents are vile, I had a Nigerian seat partner who paid an agent heavily to come (for a place that is visa free?), Got to the airport here and called the agent - who later stopped picking, the apartment the agent claimed was pre paid for him wasn’t, and there was nobody to receive him here.
The agent was even lying that he should take a taxi to one accommodation (I think it was a hotel), that the hotel would pay for his ride - which I feel is a lie.

Very sad situation

Immigration here grilled few people, what I loved was that I also saw them doing it white people , cause most African countries I’ve visited love their white men and women more than anything.

The officer just asked how long I was staying and how much I was carrying, and allowed me without giving me a stamp, I noticed it at the luggage claim and went back- he said it wasn’t a problem, but I insisted.

Got pizza last night, it was late and restaurants ere closed, the one I went to said it’s the only thing they could offer

Overall great experience, I just wish I saw the lake when it was pink

The tour guide that works was very happy, he insisted we take pictures and I sent them to him so he’d show his family
Perks of holidaying in African countries is giving back to African communities and keeping people like this kind man in work

Plot twist- the pink lake wasn’t pink
They said it’s not pink all year round

I made friends with this bike man, so he was taking me there instead of booking a ride, we agreed 8,500 for a round trip (worst mistake was me wearing white cause I was really stained when we got there

Made chips and fish for breakfast, I’d be visiting the pink lake afterwards

Just got a terrible news, my flight to Cape Verde (which was Tomorrow) have been moved by 3 days, if I decide to go it means I’d have to reschedule my ticket back to Nigeria and pay extra, cancel my apartment in cape verde , pay extra more for accommodation, also move my flight from Lagos back to base , I have a day layover in Ivory Coast - the host knows me and didnT charge in advance for the booking - so cancelling that too is a loss to him.

Branched the market to grab stuff for food, communication is the biggest issue, they rarely understand English, the ones that speak French may not know how to read it, if you ask for price - they won’t say the price in numeral (they’d use words instead), so most times I’d open the calculator app and let them type the numbers

I usually use cardonic but they’re west African e sim is expensive, $25 for 3gb

We arrived Dakar really late, traffic was crazy, had no internet for the trip so had to keep mys self busy with books and movies

I got sharwama and two plates of This Jollof, costs 1500 cfa each

My phone is an e-sim and I wish I travelled with another one because it’s a serious inconvenience, I can’t buy SIM cards on the borders and roadsides
