The only thing I'm looking forward to in the Brazilian tean is Mosquito , I was kinda sad Sweden was unable to qualify for the U-20's cuz I was looking forward to seeing Uncle Berisha.
Anyway I'm doing fine, you? not a sexist but your knowledge of football amazes me each time I read a post from you. Sure you are a lady/woman? |

daveP: Wait, how old is Awo-striking Taiwo? 17? Or was that a mistake?
Even if Manu Garba wins@ New Zealand, i wont like the idea of a call up to SE. See what they did to Sia1.
Lets not forget that the Positivism most coaches express in the world of football is directly proportional to the player's attitude, provided his tactics is well executed.
Bad attitude by SE players ruined sia1. I dont want a repeat with GM. Let them call Westerhof if they are desperate. There's a good reason why. I totally agree with you. I think he should be with the under 23 team after the under 20. No need to rush. He is a good coach but I think we should be gradual with him. Move him to the olymic Eagles after the next olympic. He and Siasia can do a job and John Obuh should replace almost certain to fumble Amunike. |

So many benefits if I am honest.
I have been a member of this forum since 2007 with 2 different names ( one abandoned) but became very active in April last year when depression was killing me.
I have fallen deep into depression due to personal reasons and it threatened to lead me to into suicide when my fiancee ( well girl friend but would have been fiancee had she waited 2 more days to get her ring), with the help of nairaland, people like dollyparton1, Angeldemivida, Lily4star and Luckygurl I am on the part to recovery.
Aside this, nairaland has helped reduce my work rate which was threatening to kill me. I am naturally a workaholic but as I don't keep friends, I tend to work more ( I am self employed blogger) but with nairaland, I have something to put my mind on. This has helped normalise my BP and I now sleep more as well.
I have also through the help of this forum blog a blog site ( the dot com of my username) for just £350 and about to sell for more than x100 of same within 2 years of owing the domain name. How about the very goood writers I have employed here? The benefit to me personally is endless. |

Politics › Re: Buhari Will Reduce Fuel Price To N40 Per Litre — David-West by arsetalks(m): 7:39am On Apr 14, 2015 |
barcanista: I Read your second to last paragraph and laughed.
See, it is like you don't understand the politics of oil subsidy and people involved. (Please get the list of importers of pms and know who they are).
This is how it works. They import pmss and present invoice to the government for payment. The government may want to "verify" by appointing an Agency to vet them. The Agency is made of appointed public officers and career civil servants. Most of these people are puppet of the importers aka "cabals". They give these importers clean bill of health and present their case to the government. The government will be left with no choice but to honor their invoice. Now, if the government refuses to pay, the cabals will deliberately refuse to release the product to local marketers and depots. There arise "fuel scarcity" and hike in pump price. People will protest. Nupeng/penganssan will strike, the civil society will protest, the NASS will pass resolution compelling the government to comply..lol, the government will be taught bitter lesson by the time they are made to appear unpopular. You can't "cut" their pay by executive fiat, the repersursion is worse.
Mind you, there are also cabinet members, powerful party officials and even foreigners that are making huge fortune via this subsidy. You are very funny to be honest. So you are saying government is to continue to pay over a trillion naira for oil subsidy when the price of oil has more than halved in the world market? Even the so called cabals are realistic. When oil prices in the world market was over $150, we were paying over a trillion to import same, now that it is less than $60, we will continue to pay same without a decrease in pump prices? Are you kidding me? |

Gej and pdp have been shouting cabal in the oil subsidy, are these people invisible? Or how come nor of them have been brought to book? Remove or reduce the scam in that industry and you would see how possible N40 per litre is. |

Jorussia: They deserve it.If not that we have not yet matured politically and democratically as a nation,i would have recommended sen oluremi tinubu for the post, but people will start saying tinubu wants to become an emperor. We allow sentiments to over competence as a nation. Allowing Remi Tinubu to get that post would be a bad move right now. With all the unjust negativity that surrounds Tinubu, it would be a blunder. People like GOS and others should be considered not a direct relative of Tinubu. |

nerodenero: Why do we celebrate zoning over competence? The reason we always have mediocres as leaders. I am looking at that time when party affiliation won't overrule competence. When an APC government can look beyond its party to choose from another party due to track record. It's possible and we shall get there. Even in America, they fill positions within the ruling party. It is politics. |

It is such a shame that the south east and the south south will not be among the top 4 in the next regime. This is what you get when you decidedly vote against parties instead of voting for or against individuals.
I just sincere APC ensures no new defecting senator is allowed in. The SE/SS called for what they are getting, there should be no backdoor to enter. |
Politics › Re: Buhari Will Reduce Fuel Price To N40 Per Litre — David-West by arsetalks(m): 7:16am On Apr 14, 2015 |
barcanista: oga you don't just wake up to cut down or increase the pump price of pms. This has to do with increasing or decreasing the % of government for the subsidy(as the case may be). In the petroleum sector, we have the problem of cabals that import the product and charges the government. These cabals work in tandem with civil servants and other public servants that are in their payroll to ensure that they get their way. If government is to cut the pump price, it means it has to increase %earnings of the cabals to make up for the citizens. Now considering the fall in global oil price and how it affected our revenue, and the effect it will have on our relative scarce resources, do you think increament in the subsidy is feasible?
The only solution is total removal BUT you have to put paliatives in place to reduce the resultant pains(whicj will be temporary) and then build refineries to be run by private firms or jointly wt government(considering how we poorly manage our own). The problem here is that the same cabals will do all within their powers to sabotage the effort to build refineries. Also, the public income may not be able to service it, the option left will be loan-which comes with its resultant effect. What happens "if" the money is mismanaged or diverted?
Importantly, how feasible will this be considering the numerous "unrealistic" social programs/proposals of the Buhari incoming administration? This is very possible and achievable. I read the initial post I saw nowhere in which Tam David-West said it will be done immediately. It will take some time but definitely doable. Pump prices remain high despite subsidy trippling under GEJ because of corruption. If we imported oil at the rate of say $120 and were paying over 1 trillion as subsidy, why should we not see a sharp decrease in pump prices when the same fuel is being imported at less than $60? It is either the amount been paid for subsidy is greatly reduced and pump prices are maintained while the balance is used to fix the refineries or subsidy is maintained and pump prices are reduced. Also, the amount of oil being stolen per day, can be reduce by a government who is sincere and the attendant effect can only pass onto us the citizenry. |
