Ayomidric:You have MSC in mumutology. Abramovich's wealth did not diminish because of Chelsea. It diminished because some of his political wings were clipped in Russia. Let me ask you, has the net worth of Chelsea diminished after Abramovich came in? He bought Chelsea for £140 million from Ken Bates, same Chelsea was reportedly close to selling 30% to an Asian to close to £200m. Put that into perspective. |
Nazeeboy:10 years? Before Abramovich bought Chelsea never didn't win the title for 46 years. Bring another one. |
redsun:Poor man mentality. A real savvy business man, buys up a business. Ask Google why they paid so much to acquire skype when they can build a business from scratch why did Williamhill buy over skybet? Ask my mentor AkinAlabi ( who is also a Nairalander) and he will tell you how many approaches he has had to sell nairabet. |
ApexTitan:Dumb assertion bro. Let me ask you, Kroenke is a Yank, Usmanov is a Russian, how many Russians attend Arsenal games? By your assertion, Africa is not a lucrative market but Manchester United has been coming to Africa for 10 years. Taking it outside football, Sky has been trying to buy TVC and bring Skyb to Nigeria ( I know cos I had business dealing with one of the initiators), verizon has been wanting to come to Nigeria, Etisalat left Asia for Africa. Our buying power may not be as high as that of the Brits and the Yanks, but the number adds up big time. At least your know our love is higher than most of the Asian countries yet clubs keep going to Asian, for what if I may ask? Arsenal sent only 3 players here ( I was there) Sagna, Per and Poldi and made over £3m for 3 days. Imagine they come here for a week for a tour with the full squad? |
Joshkid:Educate yourself, it doesn't cost much to do so. If you had read the article or done some simple research you would have known Arsenal is worth just $1.49 billion and Dangote is worth $15 billion. He is richer than the two majority shareholders combined. |
Amaechi5:Not true. Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal not own by Spaniard. |
kilokeys:Fulham used to be owned by Mohammed Faye an Egyptian, Cardiff is known by an Asian, same as Man city, the Brit and Russia are political rivals, Abramovich is Russian. The Brit don't give a hoot just invest in their land and you are fine. |
shakazuldadon:Why should he buy Hull City and or Sunderland? What do these two have to offer him? What's their global rating? What's the capacity of their stadiums? Buying Hull City or Sunderland is akin to starting a business afresh for someone like dangote and a good business man, buys a business not start one hence you see Google buying up considerably big businesses over. With TV money increasing and champions league money not looking like abating soon, buying a small club will take him almost forever to catch up ( not dominate but catch up). When Hull city and co are busy getting commercial deals worth 5m for say 6 years, Arsenal and co are getting same for over 30m per year. Reason? They are a global brand. Plus he is a fan of Arsenal. |
mrmetoo1:Usmanov has 30% stake in Arsenal and he has a criminal record. And still has a case pending in court. Roman Abramovich was once indicted in court. Mohammed Faye who used to own Fulham was indicted in the queen Deila bullshiiit. The Brits don't care about how you get your money once it benefits their bankrupt kingdom. Besides, it is left to Kroenke and Usmanov to decide if they want to sell or not. However, it will be difficult. Dangote should have been mopping up shares from small shareholders like Usmanov has been doing. To be successful in a bid now, he has to pay say $3bn which will be 2 times more than the stock market value of the club but that shouldn't be a problem for a man worth close to $16 billion. I for one want him to buy Arsenal or have major share in the company. Send Kroenke packing. |
M4gunners:First time me and you agree on something. |
I don't like Dangote but as a Nigerian first and a savvy football blogger, I will cry for joy if he buys Arsenal. It will not only habour well for Nigeria but for me as a blogger and considering he is richer than both Kroenke and Usmanov, I won't mind him at Arsenal. It will be difficult though. Usmanov seems a big fan of the club, Kroenke has a record of not selling his sports businesses. However, it is only difficult until it is done. Go Dangote, allez Monsieur Dangote. Allez. |
nnachukz:What you fail to understand is that someone who does no wrong in your eyes had all the power in the land and the support from the world over to bring to book the miscreants and their sponsors but failed woefully to do so. |
OREMUSSANCTUS:and yet some idiots claim youth this youth that, is this idiota not supposed to be a youth? Such a waste of sperrm. Product of a retarded f*ck. You curse is for you, GOD has put me in charge of my life, I decide how far I go in life not a meaning curse. |
apeoyemojo:What are you talking about? The youth that are busy doing yahoo yahoo? The youth that are busy chasing after girls? The youth that are busy looking for the newest tattoo to draw? No one has stopped the youth, like they say in football, if you are good enough, you are old/young enough. It is not as if the youth has been barred from any roles? You talk of youth, what's GEJ ( using his football age) , Ibori, Koro, Fayose, what have they done with the roles they have been given? Do you think the elders should leave the stage just for the sake of it? |
Hahahaha, what's happening within the PDP in the aftermath of the election is very funny and very enjoyable. PDP did not lose the election based on hate campaigns alone. If it was because of the hate campaigns against Buhari ( which I must confess contributed at least 30% to APC's success) then PDP should have cleared the other elections. PDP lost because they ( like they are doing now) like playing blame games with everything. Instead of them to admit they have a problem and look for solution ( knowing full well that acceptance is the first stage to recovery), they were busy blaming APC for everything - fuel subsidy, boko haram, Maboro's job scam and so many others. PDP lost the election because they gave GEJ absolute power. He should have been made controllable by the Party. What did PDP do when GEJ was seeing dancing hours after the bomb blast in Abuja? What did PDP do when SSS invaded APC and told us many lies as to what the reason for their invasion was? What did they do after Patience Jonathan's crocodile tears and show of shame after the chibok girls incident? What did PDP do when Obanikoro was nominated as minister after the election rigging incident? I detest PDP but I want them back asap to act as a strong opposition to APC as we can't afford to let APC have a free ride but unless this shitty blame game is stopped, APC will dominate for years to come unchallenged. |
So judging by this thread, we can assume GEJ lied about that call to the Morrocan king too? Also, you should note that AIT deserves every treatment they get and you should also note that you do not know more than those involved. An AIT staff already clarified or do you say he was bribed or did he lie? If he did, how come he has not been fired? |
Although the English in this write up makes me doubt the report but if true, it shows how much of an hero GEJ truly is. Only those blinded by sentiment will call the corrupt fellow an hero. Hero my back side. |
Rubbish question. Is it mandatory for you to thank GOD for keeping you alive? Anyone who gives you food is a god. If it is so easy, eat your money. I feel odd when I don't say thanks to GOD after eating then peek my girlfriend ( now ex) after eating. |
Sweetguy25:people like you will pray your wife doesn't make it out of the Labour room just cause you will pained. |
The first two commenters on here are sicknotes. Animals in human skin |
Taylor86:you are daft it is unreal. You lots need to concentrate on the east and the south south. Tinubu has eaten Lagos' money like you keep shouting, show me one eastern state more developed than Lagos. Go ahead and do it. |
People abusing Helen Paul for having a go at president elect GMB over he saying he can't guarantee the return of the chibok girls are not serious. I am a great, great supporter of Buhari ( I don't think even his wife supports him more than I do) and will continue to be but if truly ( I want video or audio proof) said during his election campaigns that he will bring back the chibok girls then go around to say he can't guarantee bringing them back, then he has F up. Truth has to be told. The chibok girls may not be alive and there is no how you bring back the death unless you are Jesus Christ but using such a sensitive thing for campaigns is bad taste on Buhari's part. Buhari should have known how almost impossible it is to bring back the girls after 1 year. He should have considered all possibilities. Are they alive? If they are alive, are they still together? How do you rescue them without the miscreants using them as human shield. Lots of possibilities should have been considered before making promises. Having said that, a bigger stick needs to be used on GEJ for his handling of the whole thing. People don't hit him enough for his unfatherly handling of the situation. A so called father and president had to wait almost 5 days before swinging into action when our 200 kids have been kidnapped. Based on that decision alone, GEJ should not have gotten more than 100 moves in the last election ( votes from his friends and family) but for regional and religion sentimentality. If his wife was a mother at all, he would have told him ( GEJ) the truth. Based on the chibok situation enough, he should have resigned or not contest at all. Thank GOD he is gone for good. Never again shall a snail rule this nation. P:s reply me only if you want to argue with facts not sentiments. Call me names and see the manifestation of my bad mouth ( fingers). |
Equalizer:Your role model. Oponu. |
SHARIAREPORTERS:Sick notes like you are the real problem this nation has. Pathetic statement. Probably you are just as corrupt? |
TheGoodJoe:If I am honest with you bro, I see a very good box to box midfielder in Kelechi. Not the modern day running box to box midfielder but like Pirlo. You know, deep lying midfielder - Pirlo and Scholes type. |
bestestgirl:My dear bestestgirl, in that venue that tea is been drunk, that sachet is definitely not more than 300 naira. Kudos to whom kudos is due. This is leadership by example. Compare that to 1.2 Billion a certain someone used as feeding budget. |
kodded:you and those liking and sharing your post are just myopic and idiotic. So ND is not part of Nigeria? Anyone corrupt and taking the wealth of Nigeria's to himself should and will likely be jailed. If anything will boil is the houses of the corrupt bastardos. |
nekaa:Those who are older and those who are younger than me in your family are the akuko. |
nekaa:The article clearly stated he was NEVER INDICTED. |
Oshoala is a very good player but I don't think she will win it especially as Little and Martha are on the list. However, if shhe keeps on going like she is going for Liverpool, it is just a matter of time before she wins the award. |
chynie:You know what I did to find this post of yours? I did not read through, I simply used control F on my laptop. I knew an idiota will come up with something like this. |
Mogidi:The person who brought SE/SS into the discussion was not derailing the topic right? Your hypocrisy is legendary. |
