SportsRe: NFF Sack Keshi, Pick Amodu As Replacement by arsetalks(m): 7:32am On Oct 16, 2014
Let's not kid ourselves, our coaches bar maybe Oliseh and Siasia are not ready and the main reason is the sports ministry and the NFF do nothing to help this coaches.

When last did they organise clinics for them? When last were they sent on refresher courses abroad or placements at other clubs so they can learn one or two things?

How many of them have UEFA band A licenses? Let's not be sentimental about our coaches, they are simply not good enough.

Good a thing people like Di Matteo and David Moyes are currently available. They are good enough for us and can lead us to glory if we finally will allow coaches stay on the job for say 4-6 years and let them build their own teams without interference.

People will argue why the choice of Di Matteo and David Moyes. To that I say their records speak for them.

Di Matteo did a good job with West Brom with players that are a little better or simply at par with our players. He went to Chelsea a team that puts the coaches under undue pressure and took a declining team to the pinnacle of European football ( yes, he won playing football that I can't be proud of and as much as I hate Chelsea, I must say it, they achieved what my darling Arsenal hasn't been able to achieve in over 25 years of trying and it is kudos to Di Matteo).

David Moyes managed Everton above their level for many years and even qualified for the champions league. The players he had to use to achieve what he achieved with Everton are at par to what will be available for him with the eagles.

Forget what happened to him at United he had an impossible job. Many United fans will not agree but I think Moyes was deliberately used so to relieve the pressure on whoever takes over. Moyes will have Sir Alex as his yard stick ( failure for sure) and now that Moyes is sacked, Van Gaal is practically under no pressure as Sir Alex isn't his yard stick but instead Moyes.

Dennis Bergkamp is also available so also is Steve Clarke, Steve Bruce can also be convinced.

All these coaches play our type of football and they have a record of getting the best out of a tad average players.

Laurent Blanc is also available.

Success is not only judged by wins alone. You can look at the conditions too. If Burnley draws against Chelsea, it is considered a very good result. Nigerian football was decaying before Coach Keshi came in. You can not expect an immediate turn around to judge by wins alone.
In football, success is judged by number of matches won. If Burnley do not get enough points, they get relegated. Drawing Chelsea or even all of the big teams doesn't guarantee their safety and to be honest, which big teams did Keshi play? Both in competitive games and inn friendlies?

He has shown he has no man management skills and relieving him of his job is in my humble opinion the best.

Coach Keshi and his crew built their CV and the National team. They did not fail. However, they were sacked. Ridiculous.

Finally, Coach Keshi and his crew promoting John Obuh's U17/U20 boys shows he is one of the few coaches who promotes continuity and gives youths a chance. How can you criticise that?
In football, success is measured by the number of matches won. Judging on that alone, Keshi failed.

Go ahead and check is win rate after the afcon and you will see for yourself.

Talking of bringing in boys through to the national team, Siasia did a better job but was sacked simply because Siasia and the NFF both made mistakes by not knowing the laws that govern their own job.

Why not start the building process now? Why wait this long to sack Keshi and then wait again before a better coach is brought in?

Sunday Oliseh has no experience as a coach. While siasia is a failure as a SE coach he should remain as U23 coach. Keshi should not have been sacked he is the most successive Nigerian coach and should be allowed to keep his Job till after the qualifications
Successful? Cos he won us Afcon? That exactly is the reason he remained on the job for so long.

Do you bother to check his win rate? It was Piss poor. He won AFCON due to the players' strong WILL. I challenge you to check his records since after winning the AFCON.

Absolute balderdash.. This clueless power hungry mofos at the NFF have ruined our chances of qualifying for Morroco 2015...if we still had any...What's the point sacking keshi now? Now the new coach has a good excuse for failing at his new job, which he will obviously do.. Abi no be Amodu
Did I just heard the word' Foreign coach' .. Arr these nuggars in NFF nut or what?  What has a foreign coach achieved for the super eagles in the last 15 years? Its just an attempt to chop money as usual again.. Awon olote....
Lets see how a white coach who can't even lead a division 3 club in his native land will perform magic on the super eagles in an unfamiliar terrain

Blame Keshi for his woes. The truly great coaches in the world don't go about fighting their own players.

He wanted to use Nigeria to improve his CV but failed at it woefully simply because he could not take what he gave to national team coaches back in his days.

The same Keshi who caused so much problems in the national team then is now complaining of a player doing same to him.

Why we sacked Saisai I do not know and if anyone is to take glory for the new players Keshi used, it is John Obuh cos the bulk of the players were Obuh's under 20 boys.
SportsRe: Breaking News: Keshi Sacked, Amodu To Take Over by arsetalks(m): 6:39am On Oct 16, 2014
To me sacking Keshi is good but replacing him with Amodu is madness. What exactly does Amodu know? Which club(s) has he coached in the last 7 years, what course has he attended?

They simply gave the job to someone they can order around.

I see no reason why they didn't give the job tto Sunday Oliseh or Saisai ( we all know they made a mistake sacking Saisai in the first place anyway).

Amodu? Very stupid move.

Obasanjo is now treated like the god of nigeria,,how sad,,a common thief been elevated to a demigod in nigeria
The funny thing is Obasanjo does not have any court case against him but Kashamu does. If he knows he is truly not guilty he should present himself to the courts in America for trial.

Is it that hard?
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Is Morally Bankrupt – Kashamu by arsetalks(m): 10:10am On Oct 14, 2014
Obasanjo like most of our polithievians are morally bankrupt we agree. However, whats stopping Kashamu from going to the USA if he is truly not guilty? He can be rest assured that he will be given a fair hearing in the American court and he has the money to employ the best lawyers to defend him.

Typical example of a pot calling kettle black.

I am not a fan of Buhari neither am I a fan of aany polithievian but I must point out that Nairaland has become rubbish lately.

It is almost impossible to find a thread criticising GEJ/PDP on the front page but you have APC bashing threads on the home page.

Is nairaland now a PDP or APC forum?

They may be prepared to host the championship but are they prepared for Ebola out break?

People will want to come to Morroco to support their teams, how do you ensure these people are not importing ebola and then giving it to others?

The most sensible thing to do is to suspend the tournament for a year.

SportsRe: Wenger: Ozil Will Follow Arsenal Recovery Timetable by arsetalks(m): 10:31am On Oct 11, 2014
That's stupid thing to say. They should let the German national team doctors decide. Is it not the same Arsenal medical team that said Wilshere will be out for 4 weeks and 4weeks became 17 months?

Rosicky was to be out for few days, because 13 months.

I don't trust Arsenal's medical team and Ozil can't be trusted in this case as well. Players want to play even when they are not fit to play.

You lot like deceiving yourselves don't you? It is not possible again. No one will break that record again in the EPL. Not just possible. Maybe in 80 years but not before.
