Politics / Re: Labour Has FAILED US by Aruksman: 1:45am On Oct 03, 2023
So threatening to go on strike ND den been given audience at the villa and possibly a souvenir for visiting is the best option.
Why does labour Neva fight for d common man but rather salary increase, why can't they fight casualization of workforce , excessive govt wastage , poor policies like fixing refineries instead of concession it to the private sector to fix ND run
Politics / Labour Has FAILED US by Aruksman: 9:20pm On Oct 02, 2023
Nigerians pls especially those in the private sector and businessmen kindly ignore labour they are all fighting for themselves. Now tell me how the 2500 will help mama Yusuf who works in a bar , oga bola who drives a taxi Mr obinna who sells chargers at alaba mkt . Instead of advising govt to give incentives to manufacturing sector like 50% discount on tax for d next six months a reduction in interest rate to a single digit for manufacturing sector, outright lease of 30 yrs
Or concession of our failed national asset to private sectors like refineries ND steel company .
Revisit to procurement law ,
Ban d use of foreign exchange as a means of payments domestically.
Tie federal and state loans to project and will only be repaid by state or fed govt
job is done by contractor thereby reducing diversion of scarce resources.
Insist that all our natural resources be accounted for ND royalties received .
If labour had done this then our nation will be better but rather dey keep threatening d govt into increasing wage when we say there no money.
Calculate how much will be d cost on d wage bill which will work for about 10% of the population instead of advocating for things that will make our nation work ND we all will be supporting labour.
Same issue I have with ASUU always about salary forgetting that students are the ones suffering. After the last 8months strike was there an increase in funding did any student get any benefit of the strike , how has it improved the economy .

People have attached different stories to the judgement and some have claimed that the judgement was influenced but I disagree.

Thou not a lawyer but RMB that Ihedioha lawyer did there assignment poorly
(1) they never contested the results which H.E tendered (the 305 units)
(2) after the Supreme disqualified Uche Nwosu for being the candidate of two parties meaning UChe Nwosu was the rightful candidate of the APC so on that premise they should have asked the Supreme Court to nullify Hope Uzodinma.

Lessons.

The Supreme Court is not a charity organization that award reliefs not seeked by the prosecuting or defence team.
(2) the Supreme Court is not a religious body that ur prayers on facebook will make them change there minds
(3)Logic does not work here but verifiable facts.

You are the biggest idiot here. You want to tell me that your Daddy G.O who was so intellectually deficient that he could not make it into a university and had to settle for a fourth-rate polytechnic suddenly became a world-class businessman? Maybe God gave him a brain transplant after he started collecting tithes from dimwits like you. People don't just become world class businessmen overnight. The myth of overnight success is nothing but a myth, and it only happens in Nigeria/Africa.

If Oyedepo is not a thief, why can't he go defend himself in the UK?

Borrow yourself some brain my niggi!!!

The source of his wealth is either tithe or Yahoo. I think it is 90% tithe, 5% Yahoo 2.0 and 5% money laundering for politicians. The only other option is that his other universities are doing so well that the profits are now being used to fund these newer ones, I doubt it. I have no doubt that his other universities are probably losing money. There is nothing special about your Daddy G.O. He is a fraudster, exploiting the gullibility of reetards like you.

Magnus ogoni
Wike ikwerre
Tonye kalabari/riverine.

Power sharing in d state now
Governor - ikwerre
Deputy - kalabari
SSG - ogoni

Current clamour

Ikwerre - Wike
Ogoni - governor or deputy
Kalabari- governor

PDP ticket = ikwerre for governor
Deputy = kalabari

APC ticket= kalabari for governor
Deputy = Ogoni

From this APC covers the interest of two blocks while PDP 1

Result kalabari + ogoni= Victory

Bro, I understand that there’s a need to launder Tonye’s image in the media. But all these write ups will not change anything on ground in Rivers state. I have lived in Rivers state and I know a little about the local politics there. How many people know Tonye Cole in Portharcourt? Rivers state is a tough place to survive and you must be brutal and violent to be able to survive there. The warlords and gangsters in PH will never accept Tonye over Wike, that’s the plain truth. APC’s best bet would have been Magnus Abe but see as Amaechi is trying everything to scuttle that. It’s a pity really. Wike is in firm control in PH and the warlords are in agreement with him cos he dey settle wella.
how he is from the riverine and the riverine want the governor, beside he is from a popular family among the political class remember his father was a former nigeria ambassador to Brazil , he has the money to throw around plus fedral interest in rivers state . please go and check the ruling party in the state has been quiet cos of the tsunami about hitting it . remember no one knew ambode or obiano before they became governors of there respective states, and if you talk about abe yes but remember rivers is not only about the ogonis but also there is the kalabarois , so you need to bring to ythe table a candidate that will suit all parties and stakeholders involved.

Politics / Why Tonye Cole Is The Right Man To Beat Chief Bar Nyeso Ezewon Wike by Aruksman: 11:28am On Sep 27, 2018
Why Tonye Cole is the Right man to defeat Chief Barr Ezenwo Wike.

Tonye Cole apart from being a technocrat and entrepreneur who understand what it takes to manage a state it also of great importance to note that most of the performing states in Nigeria are governed by professionals and Rivers state should not be left out, e.g Anambra( obiano an accountant and former executive director at fidelity bank) states pays salaries before federal allocation.
Gombe(dankwambo former accountant general of the federation, prudent use of state resources and you can see development round the state.
Lagos( Ambode former accountant general of the state, the flagship governor of Nigeria.

Political permutation in 2015

The state is divided among 3 major blocs , the Ogonis, Kalabaris Ikwerre

The PDP in 2014 gave its ticket to a man from Ikwerre(majority)
Deputy to a woman from kalabari,(majority) so she secured her peoples vite and rivers Women vote and the governor aspirant promised ogonis major positions in his government which he has fulfilled like SSG, comissioner of finance, commissioner of Works e.t.c
While the APC commited political suicide by bringing in two candidates from the minority thou they were good and knowledgeable of how to take Rivers state to the next height but there origins was working against them.
Governor ticket Dakuku peterside from Opobo ( minority) and Asita O Asita from Ahoada , minority . leaving the majority to vote there own sons which had their own interest.

Contrary people will argue that in 1999 we had a governor from the minority and deputy from minority also but they still won . that will be a discussion for another day.

Why is Tonye Cole the right man and better option than distinguished senator Magnus Abe

They are both from majority tribes, but one is a technocrat the other is a politician.

Secondly Tonye is fro a majority that has the deputy governor already and only a governor of there origin can make them deny the current government there votes . if the deputy is given to them again they will stick to PDP for the next 4 years and have an opportunity to fight for the governor after Wikes tenure , rather deputise anoda for 8 more years.
For magnus ogoni the haven't been the governor or deputy from ogonis extraction and currently only occupy SSG so a deputy ticket will be enough to get there votes and becomes an Uhuru for the party.

Ikwerre zone : they have had speaker for 8 years and governor for 12 years so they will definitely accept the speakership and SSG.

And remember the two leader of both parties are from this zone so APC should be able to get at least 35% of this zones vote.

Projected votes from the major zones if the governorship ticket is given to Tonye and deputy to an Ogonis man

Kalabari / riverine areas - 70%
Ogonis zones rivers east senatorial 60%
Ikwerre zone - 35%
And by God grace we shall be victorious.

Pusyiter:
Sorry to say....you assertions are totally out of point.
How on earth would one imagine that restructuring would increase the cost of governance?
What is political and economic restructuring?
Get it first. Restructuring simply means without reference to scholastic works, giving powers to the constituent units (state and local governments).
Our economy depends so much on oil and the solution is restructuring. Why?
When we restructure, the oil-producing states would pay a given sum to the federal government motivating other States to think outside the box and harness what they have to better their economy either in agriculture or otherwise.
It will never make dictators out of Governors simply because the local governments would have more functions/powers than their Governors thereby making them closer and accountable to the people.
For the records, there is nothing like economic and political restructuring. It is only a nomenclature of some people.
When you restructure, everything falls into place both politically, economically etc.
The USA is a typical example of a restructured Nation.
I stop here for now.

m
My brother you talk as if you are not in Nigeria , I agree with you that it will diversify our economy but ask yourself what the billions of dollars gotten from oil has been used for.
Secondly do you have local govt chairman or caretakers who are empowered by governors for there selfish reason .
Imagine the number of unnescary aides our governors have with the little they get from abuja and imagine how many more they will appoint when they get more funds.

Yes I say they will be dictators because the presidential powers will have no effect in there domain so they will definitely decide who gets elected and there positions
, Today in some states e.g Rivers the state budget is a secret documents, in some states lime IMO and rivers the governors have said and handpicked those who will be contesting the election's and are only be fought to a standstill by abuja so if you weaken abuja they will be stronger.

Let's be prudent with our resources, pay salaries , invest in human capital devt , get the right infrastructures and policy's and Nigeria will be better.

Let's think of how to save our country first, beside has america restructured , nope but they have laws and strong institutions that makes it difficult for our common wealth to be embezzled

Politics / Is Restructuring The Answer To Our Problems by Aruksman: 7:41am On Sep 04, 2018
Topic: Is restructuring the answer to our problems.

First of all I will like to appreciate the efforts of prominent Nigerians and scholars who have spoken for and against Restructuring, but its pertinent to say that most of them have advocated such on selfish reasons, while some looked at it from one perspective , while others did it in the normal Nigerian way of only looking at the advantages with out considering the disadvantages and the peculiar nature of Nigeria.
Some others advocated for a sectional restructuring while scholars have advocated for a holistic restructuring.

It is very clear that close to an election period political parties and presidential candidates promise Nigerians this but the moment they are elected it becomes a thing of the past just like the current administration..

There are two major kinds of restructuring the POLITICAL and ECONOMIC restructuring.

I see politicians advocating for political restructuring but in essence we should be interested in economic restructuring but in Nigeria politicians always exploits every policy for selfish aggrandisement.

Note restructuring is good but with Nigeria it will fail because of many reasons,
(1) our economy is built on oil so if you restructure it means so e states will be very poor especially the Northern states , and no political party will want to loose the support of the North because of its numerical strengths.

(2) It will weaken the powers of the President , in the past we have seen bills and constitution amendment thrown out on the alter of it weakening the powers of the president despite the much resources invested into it.

(3) It will make our governors Dictators and lords over there territories . imagine that despite allocation coming from the centre they still deny local govt of its funds and most states are running with caretaker chairmen and Transition local govt chairman.
So imagine what they will do when they are the ones generating the funds and paying tax to the centre.

(4) National and state Assembly will never support it: relying on what happening now the states assembly supported the autonomy of the legislative arm of( government but veto that of Local government .

(5) Who will lobby the Nigeria national assembly to make him weaker.

(6) the cost of running the government will be tripled.

THE RIGHT THING TO ASK FOR.

(1) THE LAW SHOULD BE AMENDED THAT ANY GOVERNOR OR PRESIDENT THAT FAILS TO PAY SALARIES UP TO 3 TIMES IN A YEAR SHOULD BE IMPEACHED .

(2) ALL OUR RESOURCES SHOULD BE JUDICIOUSLY SPENT AND ACVOUNTED FOR FAILURE ATTRACTS IMPEACHMENT AND 12YEARS IN JAIL
(3) BUDGET OF THE STATES MUST BE PUBLIC DOCUMENTS.

THINK WISELY BECAUSE IF WE NEED TO RESTRUCTURE WE NEED TO RESTRUCTURE OUR POLITICIANS FIRST INTO BECOMING SERVICE DELIVERY CONSIOUS INSTEAD OF MONEY DRIVEN .

Politics / Can Nigeria Ever Be Great With This Blame Game Going On by Aruksman: 12:48pm On May 19, 2018
CAN NIGERIA EVER BE GOOD

Its with a heavy heart I write this, from the day I started reading newspapers till now no Nigerian government has ever owned up to its responsibilities including the federal, state and local government.
I will drop a little scene for you to understand.
Federal level

In 2003 the Obasanjo government blamed the military government for the Nigerian debt and our problems.

By 2014 the government of Pres. Goodluck Jonathan(PDP) blamed the past military government and obasanjo government for our problems.

Same 2014 the APC and it presidential candidates told Nigerians our problems and promised to solve them if we voted them in.

2015-2018 the APC government lead by Pres. Buhari has now turned around to blame all Nigeria problem on the PDP . I ask few questions most of the APC top ranking members were once PDP members and if the PDP are that bad why accept there defecting members a list of such members are

Sen.Saraki
Speaker Dogara
Sen. Izunaso
H.E Elrufai
H.E. tambuwal
H.E. Ameachi
H.E. Ngige
H.E. kwankwaso and other ex governors and current governors.
E.t.c

2018 the PDP led by the Secondus Uche NWC is blaming the APC for our current economic state.

Now I ask who is to really be blamed.
Why don't we try as a nation to develop our country instead of trading blames . because the more we keep blaming each oda we will never achieve results.

Why don't the APC and PDP come together and put national interest first and build a nation of our dream .

If this is not done all our prayers for Nigeria is just a waste of time because he has given us power and the natural blessing to make life good and until we start doing it then there is no hope.

Nairaland / General / The South Is It Problem And Not The North by Aruksman: 4:58pm On Apr 26, 2018
Truth must be told.

We in the south keeps blaming the north for our problems but the truth is that we are the architect of our problems . with this few points

(1)Our traditional institutions is not well centralized or hierarchy in nature as theirs, every king of an autonomous community is a lord of his own so we now have over 1000 kings with over 700 stance on one matter so no common stance. So no political strength.

(2)We are too religioustic : permit me to say that the different churches with so many names have made us enemies among ourselves imagine members of a church here in port Harcourt mocking members of another church that there pastor doesn't have power but just has knowledge thereby causing enemity between both churches or is it the northerners that caused it.

(3)We lack political unity : the moment an Igbo man or ijaw man want to contest you will see many of his brothers contesting against him thereby making him to the northerners if u think am lying the PDP primary of 2003 late Alex Ekwueme was heading for victory until a governor from the south east turned the tide against him.

(4)We like dancing to the northerners tune , just to have there favour, if u think am lying why did Jonathan sack Gen. Azazi and replaced him with Col. Dasuki who later advised that
an election be moved forward so as to enable military defeat bokoharam in a geopolitical zone where elections wouldnt have held and was your opponent 10million votes assured which your opponent got.

(5)The petrol chemical and refineries and Nafcon and a host of others were built on our soil by northerners but when one of our own became president he did nothing.

(6)We do not help each other we like living an independent lifestyle while the northerners live a dependent life style. Check in your community how many rich guys have helped others but a northern general or rich man will empower his people to be rich , Buhari is doing same and your hating him but your brother was there and he only enriched himself.

(7)The north sees itself as one but we see our self differently Yoruba, Igbo and ijaw so who fault is it.

(coolOur leaders are the worst they don't patronise our people but rather patronise companies owned by the north or where the northerners are major stakeholders. Eg, Innoson motors owned by a nnewi man but it will shock you that the anambra state government will go and buy Toyota products and share to its people, the other time the IMO state governor bought Volkswagen for IMO taxi and also bought Toyota hiace buses instead of innoson buses which are good

(9)We let our wives bring more enemies to us instead of controlling her will empower her , patience Jonathan vs Rotimi Ameachi

So you see we are killing ourselves , we must correct our mistakes first before blaming others

Time to be united with our PVC

Micheal For An Impact 001: Seriously Mr President was right our youths are lazy here are 8 reasons

(1) we are not proactive that why a man of 74 years will be leading us and still seeking reelection
(2)we never hold our govt responsible for it's actions
(3) we mortgage our future for as cheap as 1000 naira as campaign funds from our leaders.
(4) we don't vote but seating in our bedrooms condemning government instead of voting out bad ones and voting in young and sound leaders
(5) We have refused to pick up our PVC especially those of us in the south east and south south
(6) We are scared of contesting elections forgetting that our president was a youth when he overthrown a government to become head of state and some of us at 40 your still planning to become a councillor
(7) we have decided to seat at home and receive oil royalties and stipends from our governors and leaders instead of working hard
(cool we are the thugs they use to right elections

Our humble resolve is to do the opposite of things that makes us lazy. Here our new resolve

(1) we shall be proactive and make sure that people up to 60 years get no elective offices again.
(2) We shall hold our government responsible for all its actions and make sure they are accountable to us
(3) we say no more to accepting cheap money and bribes from you again
(4) we shall vote and make sure leaders not performing are sent back to their various villages
(5) we shall pick up all our PVC still at once office
(6) we shall start contesting and supporting youthful candidates
(7) we would no longer need your stipends but hustle to make it
(cool No more, You can now use the elderly as thugs for future elections.
Thanks sir for the advice and we have started correcting our mistakes but sir you forgot that some of us especially lost our loved ones defending your mandate and then we never knew we were lazy.

Micheal says we are no longer lazy
Nigerian youths say we are no longer lazy

Nairaland / General / Religion And Ignorance Part 1 by Aruksman: 2:18pm On Apr 16, 2018

We Nigerians behave as if we are the most religiouslistic persons or nation in the world, at every function we pray in Christian and Islamic way, we are so divided to the point that if Moslems are killed we the Christians are not interested if the Christians are killed the Moslems are not interested .
Religion has taken over all our national issues Boko Haram was tagged Islam, so instead of fighting it we were condemning Islam,
Instead of addressing poor governance we are voting in accordance to religion attachment (Moslem voting Moslems and Christians voting Christians) instead of competence.
Employment into organisations are done based on your religion these days,
Lecturers award more marks to student of same religion and denomination.
Govt appointment and contracts are done based on religion.
But I ask were we the founders of this religions and the answer is NO
The two major religions were brought to us by the white.
(2) We are Christians or Moslems mostly because our parents were or our environment were populated by such religion. A child born in the south south and south east is 95% sure to be a Christian also a child born in the north east exceptional of taraba and also in the north west is 95% to be a Moslem. So we are members of religion because of our race so why the discrimination.

(3) Are we practicing this religions? No
Because we do not obey or live in accordance to the lifestyle expected of a Christian and that of a Moslem as shown to us by Prophet Mohammed.
So we are all pretenders and criminals using religion to hide our sins.
We can only become a better people the day we realise that man made religion and not religion making man and religion will go while man will remain.
Until we understand that we as human being have the fundamental rights to freedom of religion and that religion was made to shape our character.

Finally if your parent were Moslems would you be a Christian today vice versa be truthful to urself and see the need to love one and another.
Also How sure are you that your religion is the true religion.
Do you know that the laws of most religions are similar..
Be wise and stop discriminating on the basis of religion

Letter to our parents on the Increase in social vices such as immoral sex, cultism, hard drugs:

Daddy and mummy it may be a surprise to you that you are the cause of the current Crimes committed by your children and truth is not farfetched from the fact that in your plot to protect us from these social vices you lied to us and we later discovered they were lies and then exposed us to them. Let me explain better:

Sex : our mothers normally called our sisters to educate them on how to take care of themselves when they start developing breast and seeing their menstrual flow, telling them that if a man touches them they could get pregnant and if he sleeps with them they must be pregnant, while in the real sense the girls have grown up tested them and didn't get pregnant and now felt there parents were depriving them the fun and decided not to believe their parents advice again.
So mum please tell us the truth that unprotected sex could get them pregnant and ruin there future. With them knowing the true implications it will instill a sense of discipline and that why I strongly advocate that sexual education should be added to our curriculum .

Drugs: when we were small you told us that all the mad men and women in my streets were caused by marijuana and if we taste of it we will run mad. I remembered following one of my church fathers to enugu and in nsukka he showed me some Mad Men saying marijuana caused it and seriously that not the case excess of it can cause it.
Many youths have tested it and didn't get mad and have turn to make it a lifestyle and getting others to like it so please tell our younger ones the truth so that they will make the right decision .

Cultism:
Our parents one said every cultist will not graduate from school or die in school, but that's wrong the truth is it can distract you and lead u to ratification and death but there are still those who graduated with good grades while being members and your children are seeing all this.
So please tell them the truth, implications on their actions and if this was done the youths or children will be more cautious of what they do.
Daddy mummy I strongly advocate you tell your children the dangers in sex, cultism, drugs instead of exaggerating them because they will still know the truth and when they know it on d bad side of experience they will be addicted to it.

Finally daddy mummy stop caging your daughters in the house thinking your saving them from John the next door neighbour because you won't join her to the university. Those caged at home are the prostitute and harlots on campus, because they want to makeup for lost time after all dad and mum not there to cage them. The truth is all we need.
And to our daddies who keep carrying other people's daughter as side chick know that your own daughter is going to be anoda man olosho...

Politics / Re: Open Advise And Must Read To All Nigerians by Aruksman: 8:59pm On Mar 23, 2018
A boycott isn't the answer because the result of those that voted will count and those who were voted in will rule over us.
2015 the south east and south south voted for Jonathan but our president is buhari showing that politics is a game of numbers.

Finally the answer is for us to vote candidates and not party so if a party brings out a bad candidate we say no to him.
