rossniti: Dullard, by Pidgin, I was referring to the fad in which many Africans, who grew up on Nigerian films, now use pidgin words in their informal dialogues, from 'oga' to ending their sentences with 'o'. You will find this in places like Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Uganda, etc.
Plus if like me, you have traveled to the Caribbean, you would know that Nollywood movies are sold and bought everywhere there, with Nigerian actors and actresses household names in places like Jamaica, Barbados, Grenada and St Lucia among others.
And it is a travesty and utterly stupid to compare the pitifully small output of black Hollywood to Nollywood, the 3rd largest movie industry on earth, or to falsely claim that Nigerians and Africans are "fixated" on black American movies. That's delusional. Black Americans really love projecting their wishes onto Africans. |

privaldo: Aside, Nigeria's music which has a massive fan base within and outside Africa, there's nothing else that influences blacks from other countries.
Your pidgin English starts and ends in West Africa with the exception of Senegal who have a distinct version of pidgin. In the Caribbeans they speak Patois and in Eastern, and Southern Africa, they speak just English and no pidgin at all.
The only place Nigeria's culture thrive outside Nigeria is in places you find immigrants, who were either victims of slave trade, or relocated at will to these countries.
These days every one including Nigerians are fixated on Hollywood movies from Black Americans to take note of movies released in Nigeria. Unless you can dispute my arguments with facts (data and statistics), there should be no need throwing further tantrums. What Nigerian movies copy Black American films? |

But am not surprised. Many people here are from other African countries, they can hide under the guise of being a Nigerian and then be typing nonsense. Disadvantages of faceless forums. They are obsessed with us |

Multiplier7: This OP is very myopic in thinking. So, what's so special about those pictures you posted that's not in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Uyo, Porth Harcourt, Enugu and Calabar.
You open mouth and said traffic light is only in Abuja and Lagos, that was when I started understanding how biased you are.
Though more still need to be done but comparing Namibia and Botswana to Nigeria is an insult. And don't type out of jealousy because that's all I see from all your posts.
If the the whole of Nigerian cities starts posting random pictures as you did for Namibia and Botswana, this place will not contain it. So don't start what you cannot finish. Nigeria is a giant, just take it from me. Because OP is a South African. I’ve made thread about him before. |

South Africans are concerned with Nigeria problems, because Nigerians ran away from Nigeria to South Africa due to poverty at Nigeria. Nigerians are causing lot of problems in South Africa. If Nigerians can stop to be lazy and build their country South Africans will be happy. If Nigerians can stop to be cowards and face Nigerians problems South Africans will be happy. South Africa is not a developed country. It is developing WTO is your friend |

IronGalaxy: yes, Nigerians are self obsessed but they obsess about South Africa too.
And yes, Nigerians don't have knowledge of South Africa seeing the general careless statements they regularly make but they sure still can't keep South Africa's name of their lips. The observation I've made is not sorely based on Nairaland alone, but other avenues as well, articles, other social media etc. Have you ever read the book " the capitalist nigga"? It's no mistake that book was written by a Nigerian An obscure book ? Laughing out loud. Stay pressed |
