I agree. A woman should be President in Nigeria next at the very least VP. Not a northern woman before she comes to find husband on the post - sorry but Sadiya fell northern women’s hand. A whole minister first rumoured to marry President then consolation as minister, not enough she now went to do second wife for chief of air staff. What type of hustling backwards is that?

We need one like that former Lagos deputy governor or even Oby E women that will use head not nyash to do work like Deizani.

Truly these modern Nigerian women have sent women back 50 years with their toto na atm lifestyle.

Really Nigeria gives women chance for high office. Like their male counterparts they can misbehave but they can also work. RIP Dora Akunyili a game changer for product safety.

Are VPs voted for now?

Is there an electoral law stopping women from competing in Nigeria?

I remember Presidental candidates such as Sarah Jubril who had about 4 votes, Madam Fresh etc.

Did anyone stop them?

They keep infantilizing women like we can determine to do something and do it.

They need to 'support us', 'let us', 'help us' etc.

Sheesh!

Women have been infantilized since in the west by men, it is gradually happening here in Nigeria. Funny enough It is the same men that infantilize women that still complain that women are entitled

Exactly. We all have equal opportunities. What we needs do is avail ourselves of them. The clamour for female inclusion in governance and leadership position seems to be out of point. It's like someone telling me, "hand her the baton, she is a woman" angry.

The only thing holding Nigerian women back is a lack of ambition, there is nothing in place to prevent them from contesting for office.

Except for maybe their perception of themselves, or constraining themselves to roles assigned to them by religion or traditions.

Adamawa for example has a female senator Aisha Binani, she has a good standing and reputation with the people, she won the position, not because she was a woman or it was handed to her, but she worked to earn her votes.

Taraba state had a woman contest for governorship in 2015 under APC. She lost, but atleast she tried and Mama Taraba didn't loose because she was a woman, but because of Taraba's complicated party and religious politics.

That’s the reason why Nigeria with all male leaders is still under developed.

#EndSARs was only successful because of Women. Feminist coalition was the backbone of the protest.

Mr Keyamo stated this on Saturday evening in reaction to the election of Senator Kamala Harris as the first woman to become vice-president elect of the United States.

Igbere TV reports that Harris, Joe Biden’s running mate, is also the first Black person and the first person of Southeast Asian descent to become vice president-elect in the nation’s 244-year history.

Biden won the presidential election ending Donald Trump’s troubled presidency after securing the 20 electoral college votes of Pennsylvania.

Women must learn how to put hands in their pockets and purchase their own nominations forms and go through the rigors of electioneering rather than riding on sentiment. Trump is trash but he never allowed anyone person or group blackmail him like feminists or dirty gays and lesbians neither did the ever victim playing black people twist his arms.

Hmm

Giving women a chance is not the problem but involving that in crucial decision making, giving dem free governance power, and not limited to only attending functions and ceremonies in absence of the ruling leader is d problem.

Many deputy governors that are women are just figure head, they contribute less or nothing to the table, I'm not saying this to sideline dem but this is d Truth.
Liberia has a female president so DT not an issue
