I'm glad the key players are not shouting one party system again. They are now taking solace in "the people will decide". But one thing they seem to forget is that the people here includes those who are going to vote for APC regardless.

I'll use the word lazy politicians, Atiku and Obi, if that's the logic they are relying on. The maths is simple, Jagaban is not interested in winning more states, but increasing the number of votes he got from the states he performed badly in 2023. His support base has remained quite intact.

Yes the Governors are not going to force anyone to vote, but they can influence people to vote for APC. This is how it works, Governors ensure that their appointee meet certain election results targets, and that's how the results grows. E.g in 2015 APC had 28,000 votes in cross River state, 117,000 in 2019 and 130,000 in 2023. Enugu in 2015 was 14k votes for APC and 54k in 2019, 2023 it went down simply because the South East voted along Ethnic lines, still not an excuse for the poor performance, but one thing is certain, Jagaban is going to get more than 4k votes this time around.

That's how you win reelection in Nigeria, not by shouting the people will decide. And for those coming for my head, it's best you pull off the cloak of emotions and focus more on logic. That's what set Tinubu apart
