It was not the first coup that caused the civil war, many other countries in Africa had bloody coups, but never fought war

What caused the war was Gowons refusal to implement what was agreed and signed in Aburi, Ghana. This was what forced Ojukwu to declare Biafra, and led to civil war

Ifeajuna and Victor Banjo,the coup plottrrs of 1966 later fought for Biafra with Ojukwu.It was simply an Igbo coup which didnot last long due to countercoup by fulanis.

Yorubas should have done the counter coup of 1966,if not we wouldnot be in this mess right now.

Igbo hatred for other tribes is immense.Western and midwestern. Regions were progressive before the useless coup of 1966.
