You then need to take a fine toothed comb and gently brush through your hair. Because your hair has cooled down, you won’t lose the curls and it will give it a much more natural bouncy look. Curling short hair is super easy, and can be styled much faster than long hair. There are 5 methods with which you can curl your short hair in a jiffy.

Method 1: Using a Curling Iron

Step 1: Prepare your hair
Before you begin curling with a curling iron, your hair should be clean and dry. It should also be fairly straight. If you have wavy hair or hair with a lot of cowlicks, you may want to consider straightening it with a flat iron before proceeding.

At this point, adding a very small amount of styling gel or wax may help to set your style, however, you should never apply hairspray before curling, as this will only damage the hair.

Also make sure to spritz your hair with a heat protection spray before proceeding

Step 2: Separate your hair into sections
Use a comb to separate your hair into a top layer and a bottom layer. Take a couple of large salon clips and pin the top section of your hair to the top of your head, allowing you to work with the bottom layer alone.

Leave your bangs alone. You can leave them hanging down or clip them to the top of your head. Either way, do not include them in the curling process.

If your hair is particularly thick, you may need to split it into three sections for best results.

Step 3: Begin curling
Starting at the front, take a small section of hair and wrap it around the curling iron, holding the iron away from your face so that it remains a safe distance away from your skin.

The curl should be rolled away from your face, rather than towards it, with the curling iron to the back of your head.

The wider the section of hair you use, the bigger the curl will be. For shorter hair, a 1 to 2 inch (2.5 to 5 cm) section should suffice. This will produce medium sized curls.


Step 4: Depending on how short your hair is, you may want to use a thinner curling iron.
Larger curling irons may be too big to wrap short sections of hair around, and won't produce good results. A curling iron with a 1 inch (2.5 cm) diameter should work well.

Step 5: Leave the ends straight.
With shorter hair, it may be best to leave the ends straight rather than curling the entire strand of hair. This will leave you with a bit of length and will prevent the curls from sticking out from your head.

If using a curling iron with a clamp, clamp down on the separated section of hair about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) away from the bottom before rolling upwards.
If using a wand, start wrapping hair around the iron from the top, but stop about 1/2 an inch away from the ends of the hair.

Step 6: Hold the hair wrapped around the wand for 5 to 10 seconds.
Depending on how tight you want your curls to be, you can hold the hair wrapped around the wand for varying lengths of time.

For loose waves, hold the iron in place for only 5 seconds, then release the curl. For tighter ringlets, hold the curl for ten seconds or more.

One you have released the curl, spritz it lightly with hairspray. This will help it to hold its shape. However, if you made the curler tighter than you'd like, leave it relax for a couple of minutes before spraying

Step 7: Finish the bottom layer, then move onto the top.
If you want a more natural look, avoid separating the hair into even sections. Instead, vary the size of the sections and alternate between curling the hair towards and away from the face.

Gradually let down and curl the top layer. Remove hair from the top layer pinned to your head one section at a time. Curl each section in the same manner used to curl the bottom layer of hair before pulling down the next section.

Step 8: Add the fin ishing touches.
Once you have curled you entire head of hair, gently pull the curls apart with your fingers to prevent the ringlet look. Touch up any curls that may have fallen out.

Tease the roots. Add volume to your style by grabbing the crown area of your hair, just near the part, and backcombing the roots.

Add a final spray of hairspray. One good, final spritz will help hold the finished look in place.

It's no news that singer Oritsefemi and his former manager, Danku who has been ill for awhile now are not in good terms and according to reports, the singer dumped his manager for not handling his album properly.

With some people insinuating that the singer is the one responsible for his manger's ill health, according to Saturday Beats, a close source has disclosed that Oritsefemi is not responsible for Danku’s ill fortune.

“The two of them are no more working together as business partners and it is official. They had since parted way after Oritse Femi released his last album. That was before Danku became ill. Renowned Nigerian Fuji music artiste, Adewale Ayuba, better known as Mr. Johnson is now a born-again Christian and according to him the day he decided to follow Jesus Christ remains the happiest day of his entire life.

Mr. Johnson, while speaking with News of the People during an interview in honour of his 50th birthday, said he had since realized that the essence of life is to worship God. In his words he said;

“I will not lie to you. When I remember the day I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, I am happy, the day I became a born again, that was my happiest day. Now I realise this life is to worship God,”

Asked how he came about the decision, he said he could not precisely state how it happened:

“It’s what brought me to Fuji music. I don’t know. I remember I had a lot of Islamic clerics who came to pray for me and when they left, I would still go to my room to read the Bible.

“I think my conviction was in the Bible. It got to a stage that my children would be laughing. They would say, ‘Daddy, choose one’. But I did not want to pick like you said, because of Fuji. It has Islamic origin, my background, how would my family feel?

“I didn’t want to offend this; I didn’t want to offend that but I discovered that religion or belief has nothing to do with your musical life and no one says we are listening to your music because of your personal life or so.”

On the significance of his golden jubilee, he said life now has a different meaning to him, as he now takes each day as it comes, focuses on God and takes things easy.

“I thank God because it’s a big opportunity. It’s only God that can make one get to that age. I thank God for His mercy over my life and I am grateful to God for the door of understanding that He opened to me. I am always conscious of the fact that we did not come to this world with anything and we are not going with anything,” he said.

“I see life as a very simple thing now; I am not in a haste or say I must have this, I must have that. The important thing to me is that I need to enjoy myself. That is key. If care is not taken, you will just keep on looking for this, you want to become that, till you get to your old age and just die or you begin to regret when you get to 70 or 80 that I have never been to Dubai for holiday, I only go there to perform or I have never been to London for two weeks holiday, I only go there to perform. When you go to a place to perform, it’s your work, so you must arrange a date that oh, I am going to London for holiday. I take my children on holiday and it’s not work, work, and work. Now that I am 50, I will do more of that.”

He also spoke on the choice of his wife, a south-easterner whom he met in the United States, and how his parents accepted her without prejudice to her ethnic origin.

“God connected me with my wife. I saw my wife in New York at my school’s Cafeteria, and I told my friend who was beside me, that is my wife,” he said.

“We returned to eating our food and by the time we raised our heads, it was the lady who was standing in front of us. She asked if we were Nigerians, and we answered in the affirmative. Then she asked us to go to room 202 that we were trying to gather and all that. Eventually, we introduced ourselves and I discovered she lived two buildings from my house and that was how God did it.

“I thank God because, my parents didn’t care [that she is Igbo]. When I took her to my mother, she greeted her but she could not respond, then I told my mum that my wife did not understand Yoruba. She held her head and prayed for her. That was all.”

Nigerian ace comedian, Julius Agwu whom unknown to many had been sick and recently had a successful brain surgery in America, in an interview with Yes International magazine, opened up on his weight loss and the brain surgery a few months ago. Read excerpts below...

On the genesis of his ill health, he said he can’t say specifically when and how it started. But all he could recollect was that at some point, he went on and on losing serious weight, which got many people wondering. Some concerned ones started proffering solutions, both medically and spiritually, while others resorted to murmuring and gossiping.

It went on and on until sometime in May when he had a seizure at home and while his wife, Ibiere, whom he lavished with so much thanks all through our stay for her love, care, understanding and support, battled to halt that, he ran out of breath. Almost lifeless. And with the likely consequences starring her in the face, Ibiere got their maid and the security man to assist her in getting him into one of their cars. And from there, they practically sprinted to their hospital in Lekki.

Thank God the doctor was on call. He battled for hours with his team to ‘bring him back to life again’. And upon stabilizing him, Julius and his wife immediately left for the United States of America. Houston to be precise, where arrangement had been made at the Park Plaza Hospital. After a series of tests, two lumps were discovered in his brain!

The lumps had been messing up his health and causing his incessant weight loss. Immediately, the Caucasian surgeons went to work, operating on him for about 4 hours on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Park Plaza Hospital in Houston Texas, United States of America.

Upon being discharged, Julius rested in the US for sometime before returning home recently.
Currently putting things together for the 10th anniversary of his annual Crack Ya Ribs in London, the father of two (Zhara and Zadok) told YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine that all through the time he was medically down, he was always thinking about what would become of his wife and children should anything go wrong.

“Onyeoma, I no go lie to you, na dem I just dey think about. But like I said earlier, it’s God at work. I want to thank everybody who supported me in one way or the other. Those that were praying for me and all that. I’m planning a thanksgiving where I will still tell the full story. But for now, I just want to thank God and my wife. Onyeoma! My wife tried.

The day I had the seizure, she put her finger in my mouth and I bit it…All the vomit; the mess; she was the one brushing and bathing me on the bed and clearing and cleaning them. IB really, really tried for me”. A smile immediately erupted on the face of IB who was sitting adjacent us and also listening to her husband narrate his story." He said.

It was dramatic after some women recently stormed NPC Church, Valley Road in Kenya while the wedding ceremony of a pastor in the church, Pastor John Waituha was ongoing.

According to reports, the women claimed they were legally married to the Pastor and even showed children which they said they had for the pastor. Pastor John broke down in tears while the women were shouting at the church. The police was called in to bring the situation under control.

Meet 13-year-old school girl, who is surnamed Xie, that makes a living by standing on razor-sharp cleavers barefoot.

The teenager from China has amassed fans on the streets as well as the internet by walking on steel blades barefoot. She has followed in her father's footsteps as a street entertainer and now plans tour around the country.

According to Daily Mail, Xie, who comes from Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province, can carry two jugs of water, each weighing 5kg, while performing the stunt. She can even write calligraphy while balancing on a knife's edge. The young performer has been practicing the art of blade walking with her father, Xie Jikui, since she was seven. The pair would often perform in bars and nightclubs.

Jikui himself has been working as a street performer and magician since he was 10. In order to take care of his daughter, he would often take her to work where she would sometimes join him on stage. Inspired by other performers, he decided to learn blade walking with his daughter. It's usually a stunt for men but Jikui thought that this would make his daughter stand out from the crowd. Xie now travels alone to many of her performances.

'When I started practicing, I was very scared and was injured a couple of times,' said Xie.

Jikui expressed that although it's a dangerous art, his daughter had an interest in learning the skill. It's a lucrative business as a single performance can bring in anywhere between 300 to 800 Yuan (£30 to £80). As a result, Xiao Xie's father hoped that she would drop out of school to concentrate on performing. Xie, however, has more liberal ideas about education herself.

She said: 'Technology is so advanced now, if you want to learn, you can even teach yourself with videos.'

She hopes to finish secondary education, however, but has no long term plans.

I just released a song with Terry G, No Mind Them. I decided to work with Terry G because we started everything together. I wanted us to clear the air about our beef because I receive a lot of calls concerning that matter. We are good friends now. Those that believe that my rift with Terry G ruined my career are entitled to their opinion. All I would say is that I learnt a lot from our rift. I regret some aspects and it taught me a lot of lessons; likewise Terry G too. It made me to be able to stand on my own and be a man."

“Before the misunderstanding, we used to be very close friends but we are not as close as we used to be. We are not so close as before because we are both family men now. I don’t know if things can be the way they used to be between us because there are women and children in our lives now. I wish and pray that things would be better than they used to be between us because he is a very good friend of mine,” he said.

Definitely, my husband and I would be together forever. It is not because of what people say but because of the conviction that I have and what my husband and I feel for each other. We know that we are meant to be in this marriage. Even in the midst of the storm, controversy and scandal, we still knew what was binding us together was true love which is well rooted in Christ. It is not based on the facade of celebrity marriages. It is beyond all that and we both knew that we would be married forever no matter what."

She expalined further that as a woman, anytime she read negative news about her marriage, she felt bad but her husband was always there to support her.

“Whenever I read any bad news about us, I felt bad. But Kayode wouldn’t feel bad because he was convinced about what we feel for each other. I felt bad because it was not me that was portrayed in those stories. The fact that I have feelings for someone and the person feels the same way about me and we both have a past that we are moving beyond does not make us bad people. The way they made it seem to the outside world was like I was a bitch that just wanted to be wicked. I was trying to be happy. My husband and I felt bad but he had to be bold and brave for both of us. He had to be a man and he handled it very well. He helped me overcome it and I thank God that it is over,” she said.

She added that everything is fine between her family and their estranged spouses.

“Everybody is fine now. Everything is cool with our ex because we believe that we disagree to agree. Just because it did not work with one person does not mean it would not work with another person. All parties involved are mature about it and so far, everybody is happy."
