Vegetable farming is very technical, the stress would be less if she wants to use animals not humans, and for a girl, you know na, those guys go try to intimidate her.

if she can kick off 3 plots max with modern systems and hybrid seeds, she would profit more than an hectare
Sure true

you've not included filter?? what about mud pump.. we have no idea of her source of water..
The individual never specified so and he/she can use a high voltage pump that would be more than 40-50k, except the case of drilling he/she would use less than that amount

Politics / Re: Criticize President Buhari: Don't Insult Him by AshinzeNonso: 7:56am On Mar 28, 2020
Kayceenaz:
It is becoming almost second nature for most Nigerians, both the educated and non-educated classes, to cross the line while pouring out their hearts on national issues. I agree, there are ample question marks on how the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has acted on and reacted to socio-political, economic, and religious matters; spanning from federal character, insurgency, ethno-religious skirmishes, education, malfeasance, to now presidential invisibility before this coronavirus pandemic.

Naturally, we feel betrayed, used, and insignificant to the presidency. Not paling in comparison to status-quo that should be, your feelings are indeed valid. But letting this emotional pain lead you to hurl insults of all sorts at President Buhari, as rampant online, is an overreaction. As you call him unprintable, reprehensible names and ridicule him through jokes/memes, remember he is fallible, someone's husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and holds office of President of Nigeria. It is enough to beg to differ with and criticize constructively his leadership style plus policies. Using constitutional and moral means to show displeasure are in order. Look emotional intelligence's way.

Disturbingly, some people even wish Buhari death, hoping news of his demise filters in soonest. If that's not a representation of the Scriptures' observation that "The heart of man is desperately wicked," then it must be of something worse. If you fall in this category, kindly stop now! Such comments are humor taken too far.

As events unfold and we watch with disappointment, anticipating the National Assembly does the needful and saves the day, let us (Nigerians) amplify our voices to be critically loud enough, not insulting enough.

It will surely affect,but to me it's a right time for farmers to make some cool cash because most are not ready to visit market,if you can do some home delivery. Ugu , pepper and so many other veggies and fruits will be in high demand. Corona virus is real so protect yourself and family. God will protect us all.
Yes it will help Ugu farmers mostly, given that farmers ought to have started planting by now but will have to hold on because of the threat of total shutdown of Lagos State. The only ugu farmers that will enjoy it are those in Mowe area , ofada and the likes because those area buy at Lagos price and would need constant flow of ugu around, so the clamp down won't affect them

Yes. An acre of farm with such arrangement have over 24,000 plant of pepper which gives you more yield than an average pepper farm that has between 5,000 - 7,000 plants per acre

How?

The plant need to be well fed with manure, proper weed control, proper irrigation and every good management system put in place and you are assured of better yield and harvesting for 6 - 12 months before the yield start reducing

To be double sure and if you have the chance, you can get in touch with me to arrange a visit to my farm so you can see peppers at various stages of harvest which follow the same system.

You will meet some other people on the farm too working on their own personal space who will gladly provide you answers

@okoroemeka
I actually check this space once in a while cause i am hoping one day you will put down the expenses and returns calculation of how one can actually make the N500,000 from a plot in 90days

Remember that's the thread heading and what got everyone interested in the first place

@psalmy2cute
Glad you recognise I am not an internet farmer unlike okoroemeka that believes anything that deviates from his crude method of farming automatically originates from an internet farmer

Actually I stopped posting much on nairaland since I realise most of you guys are here to prove that you are boss

The boss are the people silently making the cool dough in the farm

What we are saying is that when the pepper mature there won't be space for each other because pepper are bushy plants especially when you prune them

there's no selective herbicide for vegetables yet,but paraquat is more forgiving than glyphosate that's why it is extensively used by contract sprayers in nsukka and that is another option in weed management I forgot to mention,there are team of boys their work is just spraying big farm with herbicides and they charge per plot,100% no crop damage assured,very expert sprayers, anytime,I get their contact I will post it,so farmers can utilize their services and breath easy for a long time before weeds will come again.
Please can I get their contact and how much do they charge

Na so brother,chilli pepper make sense . At the peak period both sell at almost the same price.and when the price drop you add value to chilli pepper by sun drying .
How much was it when sold at the cheapest rate, and what type of chilli pepper did u plant. Because I am going into pepper (5 acres) this year and I am familiar with avenir type but not sure about others
