It is not about Banking Industry. Contract jobs generally is not really good but then you can't blame the company's but the Labour law/Country.

Somebody is working in a Bank as a contract staff with 80k salary and then another person too is working in local government with 45k salary for the pass 8years without promotion.

Let OP go and ask contract guys in manufacturing industry

It is not about Banking Industry, it is about the Country. Ask other contract workers in other industry. You will be happy you're in the Banking sector
