Please read this detailed report by Channels TV. Don't mind IPOB false narratives. Governor Soludo has put them to shame. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.channelstv.com/2026/02/02/sit-at-home-onitsha-market-traders-comply-with-soludos-directive-reopen-shops/amp/%3ffbclid=IwY2xjawPtYt1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAwzNTA2ODU1MzE3MjgAAR5igPJoiaarmii-kU3tDsVW9iAVPeXisGy9RkElYqsF28IgxdxZ5KYXYnvrvw_aem_FNSsn0weEYnaQLTki8uZdQ |
Odin13:Which closed market? Come main market nah. By now all the IPOB blogs would have been making videos if their sit at home in Anambra worked. |
I am very pleased with the middle finger that traders in main market gave to IPOB terrorists today. IPOB are too ashamed to release any video of main market as at this hour as that will make them look like toothless cowards. |
jmoore:Those are early morning pictures nah. Go there now. The market is bubbling. People came out wella. |
Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has called on Nigerians to pray for their political leaders, saying those in power bear primary responsibility for the country’s problems. Obi spoke on Sunday at a thanksgiving service marking Oyo State’s 50th anniversary, held at the Cathedral of St. Peter Anglican Church. “I want to make a request from Nigerians. Do remember us politicians in your prayers. We are the problem of Nigeria, no other person,” Obi said. “Nigeria is not a poor country; it is poorly governed. Remember us in your prayers that God should touch our hearts to use public money for public good.” In a post on X after the service, Obi thanked Seyi Makinde for inviting him to speak. He recalled that at the start of Makinde’s administration, he had addressed the governor’s first executive council retreat, where discussions focused on governance and leadership. https://businessday.ng/politics/article/remember-politicians-in-your-prayers-were-nigerias-problem-peter-obi/ |
He has since been released nah. Why is nairaland always bringing news far behind schedule? |
Waste of time by the Democrats. Trump will simply pardon himself for any crime related to the Epstein files before leaving office. That's what his predecessor Joe Biden taught him. And yet people say our Nigerian government is corrupt. See how 250-year old democracy is disgracing itself. |
Nice move by IPOB. Onitsha main market traders have already shown that they are tired of their business. Time for Governor Soludo to repurpose the market for something better. But I am curious why IPOB terrorists didn't do the same thing when Governor Peter Mbah came hard on traders abiding with sit at home in Enugu. |
IkeOnyia:Many of the traders need to go to school. IPOB succeeded in brainwashing them due to their high levels of illiteracy. It is good Anambra has a first class professor as our Governor. He will change a lot of anomalies. |
Update Today Friday 30/01/26 The Onitsha main market is under lock and key. All the traders are obeying the sit at home command of our Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo CFR. Governor Soludo is scheduled to visit the market on Monday and observe the situation on ground and if it hasn't improved, the Governor has said he may demolish the market completely and build a world class university there to curb the high rate of illiteracy in Onitsha. The abakaleke people who protested in the market on Tuesday have all disappeared since they noticed that Anambra indigenes are fully in support of our Governor. |
Many comments I have seen on Facebook book say that it is a doctored video. AI generated. Nigerian army said they killed him and fed his body to dogs. |
But you would have preferred Pakistan, Iran or any muslim nation to conduct the airstrikes so that they would target the Christian victims instead. |
Good move. Illiterates will argue with him though. They are the ones who were boldly shouting "chow us the raw"on Tuesday ![]() |
Propaganda. The only protest that happened was on Tuesday by umu abakaleke. Onitsha Main market is still shutdown under lock and key with traders enjoying their sit at home as ordered by Governor Soludo. Other markets in Onitsha are bubbling with activities meanwhile. |
kettykin:Main market is not the only market in Onitsha nah. I just left building materials in Ogidi. Everywhere is bubbling and many others too. |
kettykin:We don't care whatever. Let those who want to relocate to Asaba do that and Delta state government carry the responsibility. Onitsha is full. |
The muslim core north hates to pay tax but want to control or better put, squander the tax paid by the south in the name of political power. Is that fair? |
kettykin:Onitsha is full. Those that want to move across to Asaba can do so. A lot of the money made in Asaba will also flow into Onitsha due to the symbiotic relationship between both cities. |
My grouse with this visit is that oversized coat they gave Tinubu to wear. The Turkish president may think our President is not eating well. |
kettykin:Asaba doesn't do sit at home. Why will the traders want to go there and not observe monday sit at home but insist on observing it in Onitsha? |
Other markets in Onitsha are open and bubbling with activities. Only Main market is shutdown till next Monday when the Governor will visit again to see the level of sabotage and then decide whether to reopen it or extend the traders' holiday. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:That is it! The market must remain closed. |
Pity Obasanjo can't keep his family together politically but wants to unite Obi and Kwankwaso, two men known to be arrogantly desperate. |
APGA owns and rules Anambra state. More power. |
Nothing new. He campaigned in Anambra last year for a widow running for state house of assembly, a senatorial candidate and a governorship candidate with street campaigns like this. Guess what? They all lost! |
Kalulu44:You're ignorant. Ojukwu created which party? IPOB terrorists and their native doctors terrorizing Anambra state had to be neutralized first before taking this action. I am pleased to tell you that a large number of them have been killed so the traders no longer have an excuse to continue sabotaging the state. |
Kalulu44:First term or second term it doesn't matter. What matters is that he is doing it now. Besides, Soludo removed Ojukwu's portrait from all APGA uniforms before the election and he has long declared himself a Zikist ie follower of the ideology of Nnamdi Azikiwe. So if you still think Anambra people voted for him 21/21 because of Ojukwu or whatever nonsense you are postulating, carry on. |
IPOB terrorists don't usually vote in Nigerian elections so they are no threat to Soludo or APGA. Main market remains shut for the next week and Soludo has even vowed to demolish the market completely if need be. |
