EducationRe: How You Went About Securing A Scholarship Abroad by Asssmasher: 5:25pm On Jul 25, 2019
ExpertNLer:
First things first is RESEARCH, doing your homework is important to secure scholarships. And the internet is big enough to do so, you are currently researching that is why you've put this out there. That is decent effort. As for scammers and fraudsters, that is usually a result of desperation and improper research. So how do you go about securing a scholarship?

1. Research, do a SWOT analysis of yourself, ask yourself what you have, and where you want to go - it will be pointless having a 2:2 and looking at scholarships targeted at 1st class graduates, so an honest evaluation of one's self is necessary
2. After researching, prepare ahead - list down what you need to acquire in order to be eligible for some of these scholarships, you might have all the requirements or might not have it, so the things that can still be acquired such as GRE, GMAT or IELTS/TOEFL which maybe strict for certain scholarships should be taken care of.
3. Apply Apply Apply. Scholarships are a game of numbers, the wider you cast your net, the more the chances of you landing one - Depending on where you are looking, there are usually easily 10+ scholarships each year, with extensive research, one may even find up to 20+ scholarships one is eligible for
4. Planning, scholarship search, application and processes are quite stressful and rigorous, you must plan ahead carefully so that you don't give yourself a burnout.
5. As for the experience, sure the experience is worth it, since you are not paying for your tuition or upkeep - it is a good way to improve your employability at minimal cost to you (especially the fully funded scholarships)
6. However, considering the Nigerian graduate market and age cap, If you are 26 or 27, I usually suggest careful examination of benefits, as upon completion of studies, one maybe eligible for certain graduate jobs in Nigeria like KPMG, GTBank, Access Bank, EY and other age-sensitive graduate schemes
7. Scholarships can open way to employment in other countries, so once on the postgraduate program it is a good idea to start exploring your options for employment in places you are eligible
8. Scholarships are hard as the competition is stiff, Good grades/excellent academic credentials often help but are no way a guarantee of a scholarship. So it is advantageous to have solid grades
I hope this helps
Wow..

listen up...I have been scammed thrice , maybe due to the nature of what I do..I trade crypto currency

I was first scammed in 2017 first on bitcoin I needed to buy #10,000 worth of bitcoin through a group I belonged, as soon as the scammer received his funds he stopped chatting me and blocked me

I was scammed again through a guy I met here on nairaland who says he mines litcoin after everything it was all scamm and totalled #36,000

I stopped trusting people till February this year when a guy I met on telegram who talked genuinely sold fake coins worth #350,000 to me .

since this occurrence I don't trust anyone again no matter who you are and my mind has been made up since then

don't blame me for all these if you haven't and don't know about crypto currency..I have learnt my lessons and moved on ..Good a thing I have recovered what I lost in crypto through trading on binance and I'm better equipped now..

please learn from me and don't do business with who you can't see..even if u can see him still be mindful.. thanks
How do you trade on binance sir?
Do you make use of telegram signals or you make the trades yourself?
I just keep losing money on that platform.
I beg you with whatever you serve and all your past ancestors sir, just a little info from you will do..

Anything wrong in calling a dialogue to trash things out amicably?? You could ask her why she detests you so much, probably you seem to her an arch nemesis or you badge into the office with no greetings. Her influence with time will definitely grow over the years in d estab, she could use her position against you (I mean she could get appointed as a deputy director or so)

you could also posses some attributes she detest so much,of course, you apparently can't tell me you hates you for no reason. Don't pretend nothing is wrong, call or a dialogue and iron out d issue,,,,you have nothing to lose.As u grow older, you get to understand d world better, people are so petty and funny, some could make a mount out of molehill...

obi4eze:
Why did the Minister indict himself by signing an agreement that he knew he wouldn't implement while he implemented that of Doctors?

Why is he offering 25% of the said CONHESS adjustment? Or why doesn't he want to apply the adjustment for all Grade Levels in CONHESS?

The Doctors claimed that that skipping of CONHESS is illegal but it was applied in the adjustment of CONMESS.

The Minister has shown that he is biased and incompetent to run the health sector.

Now, he has come out with a circular 'ordering' the Board Chairmen to sack JOHESU members and advertise for their positions. Is that how it's done all over the world?
Why do you hate JOHESU so muchhuh

The ultimate thing is impact.
If you've got impact you're already steps ahead of those who don't. I'm sorry the truth hurts, all I see is jealousy from johesu. And jealousy is a nasty broth I must confess. Shed your heart of hatred for doctors and go back to work.
What impact have they made?
Doctors and other health workers were on a unified salary scale years back. All thanks to Dr. Olufunmilayo ransome kuti( minister of health) who sentimentally approved a separate salary scale for doctors. Tell me what impact Nigerian doctors make or have made. Is it the loads of misdiagnosis on their part of leaving their patients to die whilst taking to the street and protesting for hazard allowances among others?
All they know is too troop in mass to US via Uslme just for the sake of a bigger pay, I won't blame them though a everything in life boils down to money.

You want equal salary with doctors,
go & read medicine if you fit.

What a ridiculous demand.

Just like HND holders who want
parity with Degree holders.

Small time, NCE will also want parity
with degree.

Federal govt must not engage every strike
with dialogue, Koboko is better.
A very ridiculous and unreasonable analogy. So pharmacists can be likened to be HND holders in comparison to doctors or what a you driving at? They spent the same number of years in school and equally did internship as well. Try rationalise he justification for the bias relativity if you can.

EducationMost Overhyped Courses In Nigeria, the FACT!!!! by Asssmasher(op): 7:02pm On Aug 03, 2016
Well, the list below can't be 100% accurate or impeccable,so I stand to be corrected. If you notice a loophole, just pinpoint it out and admonish instead of beating around the Bush and throwing tantrums, if you do the latter,It's obvious you have no iota of sense.
Now, back to the matter!!
I've stated substantial rationales to back up my assertions.

(1)LAW:-An enlightened mind shouldn't be oblivious to the level of esteem placed on this course. Most people who pick this course in jamb only do so because of the prestige and follow the bandwagon without having no modicum of sensitisation nor awareness what it holds for them ultimately in Future.Actually, law was a hot a couple of decades ago at least, Most of 'em after the whole six years rigor(law school inclusive) settle down for all these mushroom firms with a very meagre pay(Gani's,festus' firm and d likes).Even d coporate firms hardly pays what an ordinary med lab intern earns. To get recruited into these coporate firm is tantamount to a camel trying to fit in into a needle's eye, despite the level of connection.A thread was created a year ago by a lady who was having a second thought about her making a mistake studying law.She was only being outspoken and venting her frustration, that which most fresh law graduates pass through nowadays. Most of our law colleagues back then who felt they're on top of the world because they were studying law are either doing charge n bail, roaming about aimlessly around CAC offices, working in these firms for little or no pay or seeking affidavits here and there. It's actually a nice course, but without connection, you're as good as useless regardless of how excellent your grades are.

(2)Medicine:-Yh,Yh grin most people will be stunned seeing this "Ethically noble* course on the list. But the fact stands,it's overhyped. Why do you think most docs are doing USLME exams just to leave this countryhuh
More reason NMA is always going on strike every now and then, fighting for allowances and taking to the street with placards after all the 9+years rigor.Even the residency primaries exams are conducted just to fail 'em.That's why we hardly have consultants nowadays, that which is the acme of d career, even a junior executive trainee in KPMG earns well above a consultant.More than 80% of docs aren't specialist,a lot are just trivial medical officers who earn just like any other civil servant with little or insignificant difference.Only national, neuropsychiatric and FMCs pay quite well for docs, same can't be said for the ones in maternity centres, private hospitals and state hospitals(who are even affected by d inability of d state to pay their workers). It's a course where you stress more than you deserve. To d jambites out there, think twice before going for it,even as a consultant, which has a very slim chance of becoming, all these small boys and girls who are marketers,ET or EA in reputable private firms will earn well above you as an entry level graduate.Except for the prestige, it's not much of a big deal at all.I have a couple of them as friends who have abandoned the medical profession to do MBA hoping to switch to the finance sector.

(3)Engineering :- I've collectively consolidated all the engineering courses under this canopy. Most of 'em only wish to work in oil companies and nowhere more, but the question is,How many of these companies recruit?Even the multinational ones like haliburton and Schlumberger with syndicates here in Nigeria hardly put out any vacancies, they may not denounce any vacancy in a couple of years. Is it computer science which you don't even need to study to know more about it than the graduates themselves?Or mech engineer where our automobile industry is as good as useless?Or chemical engineer where how manufacturing industry would rather sought the services of foreign technicians to these LA cram LA pour stereotyped minds? And many more?Engineering and geology graduates constitute d greatest percentage of the graduates faced with unemployment

(4)Accounting:-Mtcheew,you don't even need to study this course to work as an accountant in any reputable firm.in this present age where a fine art undergraduate can apply for professional exams like:CPA,ICAN or ACCA.Even all these private firms would prefer someone with a MBA cert to a person with first degree IN accounting to his CV.Even with your first degree In accounting,You stand no chance of landing Nice jobs without having any professional cert,so what's the big deal?

(5)Banking and finance:-You don't need to study this course to work in a bank, even as a full staff. Anyone can work in a bank. Anybody with a professional cert stands a better chance of getting recruited as a full staff than someone with a banking and finance degree who might better still get a contract job or worst,no Job at all.

I was a lil' bit hasty typing this.Forgive any grammatical blunder or contextual error.
