Politics / REVEALED: Document Exposes PDP Rigging Plan For Presidential Election by atakamus: 6:50pm On Mar 28, 2015
PREMIUM TIMES has obtained a shocking confidential document detailing rigging plans to swing victory in favour of President Goodluck Jonathan.

A PDP insider said the master-plan was produced for the party and the presidency by a discreet strategy committee empanelled for the purpose. PREMIUM TIMES is unable to determine the membership of the committee at this time.

It is unclear whether the PDP is following these recommendations as the voting process goes underway across the country.

When contacted, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, said he would not comment on a document he knew nothing about.

He said, “I can’t answer for a document I have not seen. We are in the middle of election and we are on the field. Every other thing at this time is diversionary.

“This is no time for accusation and counter accusation. All we want is for this election to be free, fair and credible. If anyone rigs this election, it would be obvious to Nigerians.”

Read full details of the plans below.

===================

STRATEGIC PLAN OF ACTION ON POLL SWINGING FOR PRESIDENT JONATHAN

Should it become practically impossible to stop the March 28 Presidential Elections, the PDP shall have no choice but to fall back on a strategic master plan that will ensure that votes are swinged in its favour in some carefully selected states in he six geopolitical zones.

We have done an extensive survey of the states taking into consideration nearly all the key factors and interplay of forces that could determine the outcome of Election in the zones.

NORTH WEST ZONE (NW)

APC is very strong in virtually all the states in the North West. However, our studies have also revealed that the PDP has opportunities to swing the votes in three of the six states that n1ake up the North West. The three states are, Sokoto, Kaduna, and· Kebbi. We suggest that heavy deployment of military and other security personnel be made in these three states with specific instruction to cooperate with the PDP.

Identify INEC officials and other party agents including those of the APC for huge financial inducements to swing votes for PDP.

NORTH EAST (NE)

With the exception of Gombe and partly Adamawa States where the PDP is expected to make some significant impact, the other four states are keen supporters of the APC presidential candidate. But we have also noticed that the PDP has an opportunity of swinging votes in Taraba, Gombe and Yobe states to boost the chances of Mr. President.

We are recommending similar strategy to be adopted in the selected states in the North West for the North East as well. In addition however, the PDP must be extremely cautious not to rake in excess votes that could easily lead to suspicions given the prevailing security situation in the area.

What is being suggested here is that vote swing in these zones should match relatively with the expected low voter turn out in the zone so as not to create credibility problem ab-initio for the officials and personnel who will be engaged for the exercise.

Key government officials should also be deployed in this direction for strategic reasons.

NORTH CENTRAL (NC)

The PDP should target Kwara, Kogi, Benue and Nassarawa states. Our studies have shown that the zone is traditionally a PDP zone but presently the APC has made very serious inroad in such a manner that the PDP’s strength has diminished significantly in the zone.

However, owing to the large followership that PDP still enjoys in Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa and the Northern part of Kwara State there is a window of opportunity to swing the votes. This can be achieved by deploying huge military personnel and enough financial inducements to INEC officials and party agents. It is expected that the zone will record very large voter turnout during the presidential Elections which lives the PDP with a good opportunity of swinging relatively large percentage of the votes for President Jonathan.

SOUTH WEST (SW)

This zone is the most difficult and delicate to deal with. Because of the high level of enlightenment and political education among the people1 vote swinging here may be a little tough for the PDP, but not impossible.

It is clear that the North West and South West share a lot in common in both population and support for the APC. However, the PDP will have to confront the challenge with iron cast resolve to swing the poll in at feast four states in the South West. These are Ekiti, Ondo, Lagos and Oyo. For these states, monetary or financial inducement may not produce expected results. Our studies have shown that both INEC officials and party· agents in most of the South

Western states do not easily succumb to monetary inducements. The Electorate in this part of the country are known for their hot headedness and are ever alert to moves being made by Election officials and ·the security agents -at Election times. They hardly give room for officials to manipulate the process.

To achieve the swing therefore will require a great deal of resolve on the part of that PDP to confront this big challenge. We are recon1mending that military presence should be established on a very high scale in the identified states on the Election Day. It may also be useful to profile son1e of the key leaders of the APC in these states a few days to the election for attempted’ acts of instigating violence and intimidation of PDP candidates and supporters.

The idea here is to enable the police and other security agencies invite these official for safe keeping in their custody until election are done with. We have realized that the close networking between APC officials and their field officers. Agents at election time have often prevented Election Officials and the security from tampering with results or doing anything to favour the opposition. We recommend that everything must be done to break or weaken this network so as to live some window of opportunity for the vote swinging strategy to be implemented. The Minister of Police Affairs should be actively on duty in these states to oversee the implementation of this plan.

We are also suggesting that the Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC should be involved at the level of interfering with the communication gadgets of all known APC bigwigs in the South West 24hrs before and after the Presidential Election so as to break or weaken the network between them and their field officers for the election period .

Restriction of top level APC officials is very necessary. Concerted effort rnust be made to work on the statistics of Oyo and Lagos states and local governments that attracts heavy votes.

SOUTH – SOUTH (SS)

The PDP should move into Rivers, Edo and Akvva Ibom with huge rnilitary deployment. It is not expected that Election in this key states will be without incidents. Giving the iron cast determination of Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers and Adams Oshiomole of Edo to deliver their states to the APC Presidential candidate.

In addition to military deployment, the headship of INEC officials could also be compromised with huge financial inducements. It may also be useful to enlist the services of son1e Ex-militants whose jobs basically will be to instill fear and intimidation into non PDP promoters and supporters in order to create or enhance the window of opportunity to swing the votes for PDP. Divide and rule tactics should be deployed in these states for desired result.

SOUTH EAST (SE)

This is the easiest of zones for the PDP. What we have found here is that the APC though has a good presence, does not really constitute major threat to

PDP. Vote swinging in this zone will be at the pleasure of PDP, that is if the party finds the need to do so. Apart from states like Imo and, Ebonyi the

APC is very unlikely to do well at the presidential poll in this zone. However, in order not to take things for granted, some light military presence and security personnel may be in order. Here, the PDP is not required to put much financial resource on election officials and party agents for the obvious reason that its chances of winning the presidential elections here are not under any treat whatsoever. The Propaganda that profiles APC standard bearer as an Islamic extremist has stuck on the opposition candidate like super glue and there is little they can do to change the perception of the average Igbo man about Gen. Buhari.

ADDENDUM

It is instructive to reiterate that the vote swing strategy as recommended for the zones is without prejudice to the sole objective of winning the election at all cost. The party should decide whether it is ready to win the polls using all the means and resources available to it and prepare for the legal battle to follow, or allow itself to be defeated and head for the courts as the underdog.

With Elections in Nigeria, experience has shown that is it better to fight from the position of strength. The idea of struggling in court after a defeat should not be contemplated at all. For it will be a share waste of time. The poll swinging strategy is aimed at harvesting between thirty to thirty four million votes for the PDP presidential candidate across twenty-eight states of the Federation including the FCT.

On the basis of the zones, officials who will implement this strategy must ensure that the presidential candidate collect at least between six and seven million votes each in the South-South, South East and North Central totaling 21 million. And for the South West the plan targets at least six million votes, North East 4 million, and Northern East 3 million votes.

South – South – 6 million votes

South- East – 7 million votes

North Central – 6 million votes

South West – 6 million votes

North West – 4 million votes

North East – 3 million votes

FCT – 1 million votes

Grand Total = 23 million votes

Contacts at INEC reliably informed our team that the target voter turnout overall nationwide is not expected to exceeded 50 million out of which it is projected that about 1 million votes may be voided.

EXECUTION PLAN

For effective implementation of this strategy we recommend that a tactical team of about one thousand men and women be constituted to be deployed to states. Owing to the very complex nature of this exercise, we suggest that each zone should present at least one Hundred people for this exercise.

They are to undergo induction course on the process of vote swinging at the discrete location. The PDP should as a matter of necessity set up a control room within a safe location at the FCT where the activities of all poll swinging officers can be effectively monitored. All officers involved in this exercise should be advised to use only text message when contacting the control room.

Tools needed for this exercise include the following.

Procurement of Ballot boxes

We have recommended the procurement of about fifty thousand ballot boxes ahead of the general elections to be distributed amongst the identified states in the North-West and the Norti)-East. We also recommend the procurement of ballot paper to be thumb-printed in favour of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Hostile States

Apart from states like Benue, Plateau, Kogi and Nasarawa, the remaining fifteen states in the North are to be treated as hostile to its presidential candidate for this elections. The six south-western states have also been classified as hostile states however the PDP may record a marginal win in

Ondo over the APC in the Presidential Elections. In the South-South Edo and Rivers have been singled out for special shock treatment reserved for similar hostile states in all the other zones in the North and South-West.

The South-East is generally regarded as the most friendly zone for the party with adequate measures to ensure that elections results are protected.

Ad-hoc Staff for INEC

We have recommended the recruitment of about five hundred staff for INEC who will be under strict instruction to work for the ruling party in this general election. Most of the Ad-Hoc staff are to be deployed in so called hostile states to enable the party, execute its plans of n1anipulating the electoral process there.

ELECTION OBSERVATION

We have recommended that some election · observers and NGOs both foreign and local are to be heavily induced to work for the PDP in this elections. It is specifically recommended that 25% of the monies collected at the fund raising dinner be set aside for this purpose.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

A committee comprising members of the strategist, the DSS, Police, Civil Defence, INEC and the Army is to be set up within the next two weeks to see to the effective implementation of the recommended strategies.

It is important to note that funds should be released to all key officials and groups 48 hrs to the Election date to allow full concentration on the job.

Politics / Jonathan Does Not Deserve Re-election – Group by atakamus: 10:18pm On Mar 25, 2015
Ahead of the Saturday’s presidential election, a group, Quest Parliament, has said in Kaduna that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party under President Goodluck Jonathan has failed, submitting that the President does not deserve re-election for second term.

Adducing reasons why Nigerians must vote out Jonathan on Saturday, Chairman of the group, Ahmed Garba, at a press conference in Kaduna on Wednesday, noted that Jonathan had failed the country in the areas of health care delivery, security of lives and property of Nigerians.

Garba, who led other Peoples Democratic Party supporters to the All Progressives Congress, said Jonathan should be voted out of office for non-performance.

He said it was on record that the President had divided the country along ethnic and religious lines over his re-election.

According to him, Jonathan remains “the problem we have in our country today,” arguing that if he was not voted out of power, “nothing will change and the country would continue to go from bad to worse.”

Garba added that when elderly men like Gen. Martin Luther Agwai had said the country needed a ‘change’ then change was inevitable.

“The PDP govt has failed in the areas of health care delivery, security and that is why there is a need for change,” he said.

He called on residents of the state to come out en mass to cast their votes for the APC presidential candidate, Maj-Gen. Muhammad Buhari(retd.), and the APC governorship candidate in Kaduna, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, in the forthcoming elections.

“Gen. Buhari and El-Rufai are both agents of the change at the federal and in Kaduna State,” he added.

Only the guilty are afraid.

atakamus:
Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has warned women against voting for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, saying the retired soldier was planning to build prisons if elected into power.

Speaking at a rally organised by the women wing of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday, the President’s wife said Nigerian women should reciprocate the gesture of her husband, who ensured that a large number of women was appointed into political offices during his administration.

She said the APC was a dying party that thrives on propaganda and lies, saying that women should not be deceived into “returning to bondage.”

She said, “If you vote Buhari, you vote for prison. When the PDP is busy building schools, they are busy thinking of building jails.

“We will not allow our children to be put in jail, God forbid. We pray for oneness, we pray for unity, we pray for peace.”

Patience urged the women to come out on Saturday and vote for “the government that has provided more access to education and health care and brought down by 50 per cent the maternal mortality rate.”

“He was a former Head of State, he did not build Almajiri schools. It was Goodluck Jonathan that built the schools.

“Ask him what he did for women when he was Head of State. It was Goodluck Jonathan that remembered women,” she said.

She also noted that the PDP government would increase the number of women in government to 45 per cent if returned on Saturday from the current 35 per cent.

“They said we should change, we can only move from bad to better, not from better to bad. Jonathan has done well and will do even better if returned. They have nothing to show,” she said.

She also promised to revive the works done by her predecessors, Mrs. Mariam Babangida and Maryam Abacha, in their efforts to better the lot of women.

Speaking earlier, Governor Olusegun Mimiko, said the President would get the maximum votes because of the impact of his programmes on the lives of the people of the state.

Politics / Re: Ojukwu Is A Blood Sucker While The Igbos Are Slaves In Nigeria-EDWIN CLARKE 2003 by atakamus: 11:36pm On Mar 24, 2015
An average Ijaw person has inferiority complexity and hatred over the Igbo people. It is not news. I live in Bayelsa and know what I am saying. Although the issue of Igbo-Ijaw relationship should not be the major political focus here. An Ijaw man envies an Igbo man because an Igbo man is a proud and hard working person. He can make something out of nothing. Here in Yenagoa, Igbos are proud owners of houses and well explained profiting businesses.
Coming to GEJ, let it be known to all that GEJ is not an Ijaw man. He is from OGBIA ethnic nationality Have you ever seen him calling himself an Ijaw man? No. He has not and he will not do that because he is not. In Bayelsa there are four major ethnic differentiations. They are the Ijaws, the Epie, the Ogbia and the Nembe. If not for the similarity between the Ijaw language and the Nembe language, each of them has its own language that is different from others. If not for fate and luck that helped GEJ, an Ogbia man will find it very difficult to be the governor of Bayelsa state. If not for the removal of Alamiesigha which paved way for GEJ an Ogbia to be a governor, it wouldn't have been easy for an Ogbia man to be a governor in Bayelsa. Look at it here. Alamiesiegha an Ijaw man removed and GEJ came in. GEJ was moved to Abuja, Silva Timipre(a Nembe) who came second in the primaries was given the opportunity after a very secret pressure against it by some Ijaw politicians. GEJ played a very big role towards bringing in Silva. Silva was forced out and Seriake Dickson an Ijaw man brought in. The Epie ethnic nationality has not produced a governor so far. Please set the record straight. You will never see GEJ call himself an Ijaw man because he knows he is not. What he will do and has been doing is to ignore that attribute because of political gains. If the Ijaw race were given a direct chance to produce a president, THEY WILL NEVER HAVE GONE FOR GEJ because he is not an Ijaw man.

Politics / B’haram: Nigeria Pays Chadian, Nigerien Soldiers N146m Monthly by atakamus: 10:51pm On Mar 23, 2015
Nigeria is bearing the financial burden of the operations by multinational forces against Boko Haram insurgents, findings by The PUNCH on Sunday have revealed.

The troops from Nigeria’s neighbours – Chad and Niger – it was learnt in Abuja, receive N146.25m monthly as pocket and feeding allowances from the Federal Government.

The sum is however different from that paid by Nigeria for fuelling of the operational vehicles of the foreign troops and other logistics, which our source did not state.

A breakdown of the N146.2m shows that the 2,500 troops contributed by Chad receive N112.5m monthly while the 750 soldiers from Niger get N33.75m.

Thus each of the soldiers from the two countries gets N45,000 monthly as pocket and feeding allowances, the same amounts paid their Nigerian counterparts.

The joint war was initiated by the governments of Nigeria, Chad and Niger to flush out the insurgents from the North-East and to halt their incursion into the two Francophone countries.

It was further gathered that the two Francophone countries, are in addition to the allowances paid by Nigeria, making demands for funding by the international community.

Our source, who asked to remain anonymous because he was not permitted to speak on the issue, said, “Although, it is a joint operation, a kind of sub-regional collaborative effort, Nigeria is the only country funding the operations.

“The arrangement is not such that each participating country funds its defence forces deployed for the operation.

“Nigeria is funding the operation to the extent of providing the allowances for all the Chadian and Nigerien troops involved.

“Apart from that, the country is also providing for the feeding of these troops and fuelling all their operational vehicles.”

It was further gathered that in spite of the sacrifices being made by the Federal Government, the joint operation is being threatened by mutual suspicion.

There are allegations that reports about the conflict in the international media are being manipulated by Chadians in the mission area to portray Nigerian troops in bad light.

It was learnt that the Defence Headquarters was not comfortable with the slanting of stories to highlight supposed exploits of the supporting countries to the detriment of the Nigerian forces and indeed the country.

The report that Chadian troops liberated Damasak, a border community between Nigeria and Niger on March 9, 2015 was mentioned as one of such.

In it, the Chadians were reported to have killed 200 insurgents while liberating the town.

However, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah, told journalists on Monday that the town was still in terrorists’ hands.

It was further gathered that the mutual suspicion was exacerbated by an incident which resulted in the killing of an unspecified number of Nigerian troops by insurgents on their way to Dikwa.

The New York Times quoted the Chadian Foreign Minister, Moussa Mahamat, as having said that “the Nigerian Army has not succeeded in facing up to Boko Haram.”

He had added, “The occupation of these towns, this is up to Nigeria. My fondest wish is that they assume their responsibilities.

“Our biggest wish is that the Nigerian Army pulls itself together — that it takes responsibility in the towns. We are ready to disengage, right away.”

However, the Director Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, who dismissed the claim on Saturday, said, “It is not true that our soldiers are not willing to take over such communities. There is no town that our soldiers have liberated that is not being well secured and well patrolled at the moment.

“We have always warned against irresponsible comments in this collaboration and we are not ready to join issues with anybody. We will do everything to sustain this collaboration.”

Attempts to get Olukolade to comment on Nigeria’s financial commitment to the ongoing operation were unsuccessful on Sunday.

Calls to his mobile telephone number did not connect as of the time of 8pm.

The worst mistake that Nigerians will make is to vote base on sentiment. We have seen up to 16 years of democracy. The personal questions that each voting eligible Nigerian has to ask are these {Is this country on the right track} {Has the PDP that has been in charge been doing well} {Personally, Are you better of in this country under the present leadership and situation} { With what is happening as regards the governance of this country, can you comfortably say, I am proud of my country} All this questions will help you to make your choice.

Politics / Atiku Reveals What He Discussed With President Jonathan by atakamus: 9:09pm On Mar 18, 2015
BY: Bamidele Olowosagba

More than 72 hours after it was reported that Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, had a closed-door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan, the APC chieftain has revealed what he discussed with Mr President.

In an interview with Sahara Reporters, the one time governor of Adamawa state said that he had retired to bed when he was woken up and told that President Jonathan had come to see him.

According to Atiku, Mr President was already waiting in his living room when he was informed of his presence.

While disclosing what transpired during the meeting, Atiku opined that President Jonathan tried to prevail on him to rejoin the PDP which he rejected.
He said the president also discussed the ongoing war against Boko Haram, seeking his support for Nigerian troops.

Atiku said they also discussed the possibility of displaced Nigerians returning to the areas that have been recaptured from Boko Haram.

On whether President Jonathan was interested in allowing elections to hold on March 28, the former vice president hesitated before stating that he would not wish to speculate, but he said the president’s body language did not reveal that he was interested in the polls, which are less than two weeks to hold.
The former vice president stated that he advised President Jonathan to ensure that the elections were free and fair and devoid of the bloodshed that trailed the 2011 general elections.

Atiku said he had always been opposed to an interim government adding that he did so when the former military President Ibrahim Babangida set up an interim national government in 1993.

He said he was offered a position in the government through the late Gen. Shehu Yar’Adua, which he rejected. The position, he said was given to Lagos politician Dapo Sarumi.

This development comes after about 120 groups loyal to Atiku were reported to have decamped to the PDP.

According to reports, the decampees were received by Uche Secondius, the deputy national chairman of the PDP.

It was disclosed that a reception to welcome them to the camp of President Goodluck Jonathan was held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Rumours emerged last week that Atiku, who had previously dumped the PDP for the APC, was under pressure to return to the ruling party. He denied the rumours and reinstated his commitment to the opposition party.

Desperate nigga with desperate JT. God dey. God pass all the deities been brought upon Nigeria. Why are these guys very desperate if they know they did well. Sai Buhari. God bless Nigeria. The time for change is now.
Politics / POLLS: Ijaws Table Jonathan’s Re-election Before Amasiekumor Deity -(PIC) by atakamus: 5:42pm On Mar 17, 2015
AMASIEKUMOR festival is a fiesta that the Ijaw of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State and their kinsmen from other parts of the Niger Delta region hold fire for at Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of the kingdom, annually. Amasiekumor is a female deity whose origin dates back to over 400 years. Its devoted worshipers believe that the goddess protects and blesses the faithful, irrespective of circumstances and even in times of battle.

In fact, some of them, perhaps blasphemously, describe the deity as Jesus Christ. Ex-militant leader and top-ranking figure in the kingdom, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, said, “Amasiekumor is just like Jesus Christ to us.” This year’s celebration of the deity was not different.

It was a five-day event that kicked off March 10 and ended March 15 with cleansing and purification exercise for all sons and daughters, who were involved in blood covenant and other related sins.
The goddess, who is housed at a bravura temple in a small forest adjacent the Oporoza Guest house of Tompolo is reverently treated. Soldiers of the Joint Task Force on Niger-Delta were amazed at the people’s uncommon belief in the goddess when they bombarded the community in 2009 and did everything to destroy the shrine.

Arrival/commencement

It started with making of various sacrifices ranging from sin to purification offerings, as Amasiekumor forbids uncleanliness. Everywhere on the Oporoza canal, last Thursday, was littered with assorted foods and live chickens for the deity. Every participant or visitor was subjected to a compulsory sanctification ritual; a mixture in a native pot is compulsorily splashed on your head, as you dismounted the speedboat with the aid of leaves.
It is said that any man or woman who had sexual intercourse (probably on the day of the festival) will not be allowed entry into the arena and there is no ransom to redeem it.

Not even journalists, irrespective of their religious belief, were spared of the purification exercise. The zealots said it was to avoid polluting the ceremony. Last Thursday was the grand finale and merrily dressed men and women from all walks of life trooped to the arena. Aged women were dressed in branded white T-shirts with white head gears, while some youths in similar fashion, also had white pieces of cloth tied round their head.

Tompolo’s patented appearance

Tompolo, who is rarely seen, could not hide on that day. Decked in a branded Amasiekumor T-shirt atop a branded PDP wrapper with a white cloth piece tied around his neck and head, he was the cynosure of all eyes. A special song was rendered in his honour and visitors, who barely saw him, had the opportunity of snapping him with their phones and cameras, as he walked to and fro from the adrenaline-charged rhythms of the drummers. Women, led by Chief Vero Tangbowei swayed their bodies and wriggled their waists in a fashionable manner likened to Owigiri dance steps in a high spirit.

Enter the deity

Ear-plitting canon shots burst out, following an announcement that the arena be cleared for the materialization of Amasiekumor. A broom-wielding black masquerade, led Amasiekumor and its chief priest flanked by Tompolo and other high ranking officials of Amasiekumor into the arena. The black masquerade swept the ground as it swaggered with the parrot feather capped deity in a special cavalcade. Shouts of joy rent the air as people struggled to behold Amasiekumor.

Distinct songs in its praise were sung until it sublimely took its seat in front of a covered white tent with the chief priest. The black masquerade swept round the arena followed with great dancing by aged women in a single file with youths in the middle of the circle dancing.

Mint Naira notes for the goddess

Food and drinks were in surplus supply, scores of goat skulls obviously offered for sacrifices plagued the place. Meanwhile, twirling continued as Tompolo and other wealthy Ijaw sons and daughters threw mint Naira notes in the air in front of the deity. This year’s festival culminated in the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan and special prayers for the success of the March 28 and April 11 elections.

For Jonathan

Clutching a photograph of President Goodluck Jonathan, the female spiritual head of Gbaramatu kingdom, Mama Ebolomorbo-Ere, joined by all white dressed aged women, stood in front of the Ijaw deity to pray for his victory. The chief priest thereafter sanctified the prayers with a native chalk. It was declared shortly after that Jonathan’s electoral victory was secured and rumbles of celebration and dances followed, as Amasiekumor, the chief priest, Tompolo and others entered into the white tent for a special session. Canon shots were later released and the departure of Amasiekumor was announced.

Tompolo speaks

Speaking shortly, Tompolo said, “Amasiekumor is celebrated to protect the unity and integrity of the Ijaw nation. Amasiekumor means, no matter what happens a mother will protect her child, we want Jonathan to return again and by the grace of God, he is victorious already.” Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Mr. Ziakede Akpobolokemi, said, “Amasiekumor is one of the greatest festivals we have, it shows who we are and how united we are. Everyone requires prayers, which is why we have come to pray for the president, he needs all over prayers and support.”

Beginning of good things —Pudie

Public Relations Officer, PRO, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Matthew Pudie, asserted, “It started very long time ago, it means there will be no more evil, calamity, defeat and failure and it marks the beginning of good things, blessings and promotion. “It is cleansing the land for prosperity to come; it is done for the good we are expecting in the coming election. The celebration will climax with the declaration of everybody for Jonathan’s re-election,” he declared.

Amasiekumor protected us during the struggle— Bounanawei

Ex-militant leader, “General” Godday Smith, aka Bounanawei (Owner of the forest) of Niger Delta said: “Amasiekumor is very important and unique to us, we succeeded in the struggle because of the special protection we enjoyed. It is a deity of prosperity; our struggle was for prosperity of our land. “We are here today to renew and revive our spiritual standings, the land has been cleansed and victory and prosperity are here. It has nothing to do with religion; it is the way of our life.”

Politics / How N200b, ING Offer To Tinubu By Jonathan, PDP, Babangida, Others Collapsed by atakamus: 1:30pm On Mar 15, 2015
- By Obinna Akukwe
"Close to four weeks ago, I was informed by a privileged member of the ruling PDP that Tinubu has been offered a VP slot in order to get him to break away from the presidential candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari"

Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the Nigeria’s leading opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, had revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan offered him a Vice Presidency slot under an Interim National Government arrangement, an offer he claimed to have rejected. Femi-Fani Kayode, the head of the Peoples democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization, refuted the story, saying that it is the illusionary imaginations from Tinubu. However, I was personally intimatedof the ING offer to Tinubu by an equally top PDP chieftain who boasted jokingly that my “Tinubu and Buhari” alliance will soon crumble
This his allusion to ‘my Tinubu and Buhari’ is based on the fact that he knew that I publicly led some Bishops who opposed the distribution of money to some of my pastor colleagues on an anti-Buhari sentiment and that I was among the people who ensured that some that collected that money did not sell Jesus to PDP. I believe that the Gospel of Jesus is greater than PDP and APC and this party chieftain subscribes to this and my belief that the good, the bad and the ugly are found in both parties.
Mid February, I was at a sort of meeting bordering on security in the North of Nigeria and afterwards another meeting ensued where some PDP faithful were touting how Jonathan will defeat Buhari during the March 28 polls. I mentioned to the August members present who claim direct links with President Jonathan that their principal had already offered a Vice Presidency slot to Tinubu under an Interim Government arrangement. I was literally shouted down by those who claim (and I know that some of their claims are true) that they are personally close to Jonathan and he never mentioned it to them. They called it opposition gimmicks. The same persons, a week later, having confirmed the details I gave, contacted me again and this time around, believing that I must be close to either Buhari or Tinubu, asked me about the latest move of the opposition.
Close to four weeks ago, I was informed by a privileged member of the ruling PDP that Tinubu has been offered a VP slot in order to get him to break away from the presidential candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari. This highly placed PDP facilitator, stakeholder and observer intimated that he is in the thick of the discussion and that soon Tinubu will abandon Buhari for Jonathan. Those allegedly in the thick of the discussions included a retired Military President, select PDP leaders, especially from the South West and South South, some past civilian governors and somebody they believe is working for Dasuki Sambo, the National Security Adviser. Mentioning the names, I was told, is not necessary because my sources will be thoroughly embarrassed.
I was later told that Tinubu rejected the Vice Presidency slot almost instantly. According to my sources, he instead requested that the ruling party defray his campaign expenses, which he put at N200 billion ($2 billion). He also allegedly demanded that the PDP will allow him produce all the senators from all the APC states in the South West and also those of Kwara and Edo States, the Niger Delta and North Central. When I inquired what they will decide on the Tinubu project, I was told that though Jonathan did not mind fulfilling Tinubu’s alternative request, the PDP leaders in the South West rejected the idea of allowing him produce 18 senators all by himself, viewing it as politically dangerous. This money is still chicken change to a party that had stacked nothing less that N3 trillion through shady oil deals in readiness for the elections.
Tinubu, under pressure to give a green light, abandoned the discussion on the pretext of giving the entire idea a second thought. PDP leaders were still waiting for his second thought when he was seen at Chatham House with Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential flag bearer of the opposition APC. The Chatham House speech of Buhari did an irreparable damage to Jonathan’s image among the international community and the PDP had seen Tinubu as giving the impression that negotiations are ongoing and then he went on to sponsor a Chatham house embarrassment on the President. According to sources, it was Femi Fani-Kayode who decoded that Tinubu had abandoned the plot and warned the party that the best thing to do is to cage the Lion (Tinubu) before it was too late.
The current plot by the PDP is to stop Tinubu at all cost since he failed to deliver the South West vote to Jonathan even when the PDP was ready to give him his demand of N200 billion. I learnt that Tinubu’s image is to be terribly damaged, then series of harassment, trumped up charges and outright elimination might follow. This elimination plot, though canvassed by a former presidential spokesman, has been rejected even within many PDP circles, including Jonathan himself.
A top APC chieftain whom I met to follow up the political transactions, initially said he was ignorant of the contents of the negotiations but after some days confirmed that though an offer of N200 billion was made, it was the PDP that made the offer to defray Tinubu’s campaign expenses. I was informed that though Tinubu was averse to the ING arrangement, for President Olusegun Obasanjo’s caution to the former governor reinforced his stance.
My take on all these is that PDP approached Tinubu to help sell the Yoruba people to Jonathan and abandon Buhari the manner he sold former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu, in 2011 for a couple of billions of naira. This time around, the stakes were higher and Tinubu played a fast one on them. Tinubu rejected the ING offer, made his own offer, which the PDP accepted in part (monetary aspect) and rejected the issue of being allowed to manipulate and produce the senators and House of Reps members from APC States in the South West in an election that will hold on the same day. Tinubu probably got another advice and decided to stick to Buhari and PDP got enraged.
Those denying that there was no ING offer are also lying because even NSA Dasuki and former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, have been discreetly campaigning to Northern Emirs and leaders to accept an ING option to be headed by a northerner. Even former President Shehu Shagari, according to reports, favours the idea. The news is all over Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi and creating division among their political elites with the Interim National Government option getting gradual sympathy.
The loser in all these heist is the masses. Why must an offer and acceptance of a probable N200 billion must be given when such amount can build two second Niger Bridges or four brand new Enugu-Port Harcourt and Enugu-Onitsha expressway? This means that if Tinubu had agreed, N200 billion that could build five Federal Universities would have left PDP for Tinubu’s pocket. Tinubu, Babangida, Dasuki, Femi-Fani Kayode, Bode George, Buruji Kashamu and all the people involved in this ING cum N200 billion betrayal deal should stop denying the truth. Spending such billions on a political expedition is wrong and those buying, selling and making merchandise of the impoverished 160 million Nigerians, half of whom live below $1 daily, should realise it is monumental wickedness in the sight of God and those involved must repent now before God Almighty allows that self-inflicted crisis that will bring in a bloody military revolution already brooding in the atmosphere. A word is enough for the thieves.

Politics / “I Won’t Insult Buhari, Instead I Quit” – Mu’azu PDP Chair To Jonathan Campaign by atakamus: 10:12pm On Mar 14, 2015
The recent murmurings within the ruling party of Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] over the supposed abrupt resignation of the national chairman, Alhaji Mu’azu may have not been completely false as reported by the PDP in their press release earlier today [Thursday March 12, 2015]. Information available to 247ureports.com obtained from a competent source near the PDP national chairman indicates that the national chairman had announced his resignation to the leadership of the Jonathan presidential campaign team following a heated ‘argument’ over the new campaign strategy adopted by the PDP presidential campaign team – and his unwillingness to play along.

Available information reveals that Muazu was asked to resign from the seat of PDP national chairman because he refused to join “the train of those insulting Buhari”. And, according to our source who spoke to Muazu yesterday, the embattled PDP chairman was willing to walk away from the seat if the PDP insist of having him resign over his unwillingness to be critical of Buhari. “If PDP wants me out, I am ready to throw the cap away”.

The members of the presidential campaign team had agreed to pep up their campaign strategy in a manner to go after the integrity of the All Progressive Congress [APC] presidential candidate, Malam Mohammadu Buhari and to expose the possible skeletons that may exist inside his closet – but the national chairman of the PDP – who was reported to be in agreement with the frontal approach on the APC top boss, Bola Tinubu – was however not in agreement with such approach being adopted for the presidential flag bearer.

“He called their bluff” said a source within the PDP national working committee. The PDP did not anticipate Muazu’s eagerness to throw in the towel and accept his sack in defiance to their request of him to be critical and vocal against Buhari. “It caught them by surprise and they had to do a retreat away from their demand for him to resign”. The PDP presidential campaign team are not willing to undergo the crisis that the resignation of its national chairman would generate. For this reason, the PDP backpedalled quickly with an apology to the national chairman. It took the intervention of the Emir of Bauchi, Malam Adamu for the national chairman to consider the apology tendered by the PDP presidential team.

The emir of Bauchi whose father had been the spiritual godfather and a significant political influence to Alhaji Muazu through his political career. So much so that it is believed that the father of the current Emir was responsible for Muazu’s second tenure while he served as the governor of Bauchi state.

It is also gathered from a source with the PDP presidential campaign office in Asokoro that the national chairman may have had other more sinister reasons for his refusal to be critical of the APC presidential candidate. Muazu, according to gathered information, was in ‘closed door’ negotiations with the President over certain demands against the electoral season of 2019. Muazu had wanted commitments from President Jonathan that he would be presented at the PDP presidential candidate in 2019. He wanted for the President to dump his vice president, Namadi Sambo – and to endorse him for the 2019 presidential race.

President Jonathan was reported to not having heeded to the request by the national chairman. Instead, President told him to play his role as the national chairman – and allow the political dice to roll naturally to the 2019 electoral season.

This did not sit well with the national chairman who expected to blackmail the President into signing a deal in exchange for his support. For this reason, the national chairman resolved to remain a docile participate in the 2015 presidential campaign exercise. Security reports available to the presidency point to ‘fuzzy’ activities around the national chairman pertaining to possible anti-party activities. Insiders within the presidency suspect Muazu to be hobnobbing with the opposition party – in exchange for a prearranged deal. But the information has yet to be conclusively verified.

Presently, the seat of the national chairman of PDP hangs in limbo. It remains unsure if the President will pull the trigger and let Muazu out the door. What is clear however is the concerted effort mounted by concerned stakeholders to ensure the unwanted crisis is muted completely. What may be irreversible is the possible stain on the continued chairmanship of Muazu – as a true PDP patriot and a Jonathan ally.
