I bought the 48v Felicity lithium and my first impression is not good. I tried to do a test drain overnight. It gave me about 90AH drain overnight. I then set my Water Pump on it to drain it further. I got to about 115AH when my inverter shutdown at about 49v. I wasn't sure which shut down first, my inverter or the battery. But the battery was still (or back) on when I checked. At this point, I can not recommend this battery based on expected AH output.

I bought this battery too but I have not really gotten time to do a compressive analysis of it.
But these are my few observations:

1.Battery didn't come with full charged, therefore, you have to fully charge it before use to determine the true capacity

2. Inbuilt BMS will not allow you drain it below 48.8V (90% DOD).

3. KWh test?... Loading...

This could be due to dust accumulation in the Inverter. You may open it up and blow/vacuum clean the dust away. Kindly do this before considering other suggested remedies by the professionals here.

Removing dust from inverter is a recommended periodic maintenance task to be regularly carried-out on Inverters.

I am having similar experience with 7.5KVA Prag. It was running normally and the both the DC and AC fans were running intermittently as needed according to the specified temperature. However, for a while now the fans have been running simultaneously at the highest speeds. At such times, the consumption would increase dramatically up to 3 or 4KW when actual load is less than 1KW, without there being any additional loads. The load can only be eliminated when the inverter is switched off and back on. Once the fans start running, the charging from the PV also drops, I guess because of the gigantic self-consumption of the inverter!

I have a 48V Desulfator (Battery Life Saver) connected to the battery bank. However, my inverter does not charge my battery bank at all, as the charging function is actually turned off since I am completely off grid and does not even charge with generator, but only PV arrays.

Could the Desulfator be the problem, because come to think of it, I noticed this mode of operation only after installing the desulfator.

Anyone with ideas what can be wrong and the possible solution would be appreciated.

Also, I thought it is cheaper to clear hybrid cars but your breakdown shows otherwise.

Good news! I understand pains of loosing a battery at this period of recession, also know the joy of having system back to normal spending less than what was anticipated because I was there few months ago.

My brother, please get a desulfator ASAP preferably Battery life saver (BLS). Desulfator MAY prevent future battery premature failure.

Which inverer are you using? Hope your inverter does not over discharge your batteries?

Professional inverter is the way if one can afford it.

Dear All,
I recently changed my CC from Etracer 60a to Morningstar Tristar 60a. I had no problem configuring my etracer for remote monitoring from laptop. But this tristar 60amp is giving a lot of challenges for some days to connect to laptop for remote monitoring.

I try connecting using the ethernet port on the CC connected to a wireless router using a RJ-45 cable ( see pictures below) and laptop connected to the router via wireless. Then try to access the tristar web server using http://tsmppt15030496 on my browser. I kept getting Server not found.

I also try using MSview, whenever I launch Msview I see the the CC but can't connect to it (see pictures below) . Please all the Gurus in the house I need your help.

First, Check dip settings of cc, MS cc has dip settings to enable/disabled remote ethernet connection . If ok,

Isolate the wireless router and connect your computer directly to the MS CC ethernet port. Make sure your computer's IP is in the same subnet with the IP of the MS CC. See the manual for IP. If ok,

Check wireless router confirmations.

thanks for your observation. my 48v 200ah batteries do not take me to next morning. so by 9 pm i switch to my smaller system. the main issue with the harvest might be the installation. the installer was a bit confused when i upgraded on panels gradually. from my helpful gurus inhouse i tried explainning 3x4 arrangement. was very adamant wanted to parallel the panels. finally i insisted b4 he obliged. then honestly he confessed never installing an mppt charge controller. well charge controller brngs about 115 volts and on a sunny day when i apply load i get 2400watts from pv. never passed 5kwh/day threshold..

Good morning,
Your pv arrangements maybe be fine especially when you got 2400W when applying load. You may even get more if more load is applied at peak hours.

I am suspecting one or two of your batteries is/are faulty. You may carry out these tests to isolate faulty batteries.

Check your batteries voltage one by one:

1. immediately your system trips off: Any battery with voltage 10.5v and below MAYBE faulty. .

2. During charging (Absorption stage); Faulty battery will have higher voltage(around 15V and above)

Loose connections can also cause poor harvest.

How can I change the time setting on Morningstar MPPT charge controller from +0 (GMT+0) to GMT+1 (Nigeria time). . I have checked all the options but can't find how.

I also noticed in your post some weeks ago that you also left yours in default of (GMT+0).is there any reason for that or time can't be charged?

You don't need to be in an hurry. Start small but with best quality material.
I had 3.5kva inverter with 4 Batteries but when I started solar, the first thing I bought was morningstar charge controller, kept it and waited till when I had money to buy four 265W panels which served for almost one year before upgrading and so on.

People in my area are always coming to see my setup and wonder why I always have light. I always tell that I learnt from mistakes and experience of people on this forum. Please read through the posts .

you can now update your firmware which comes with some good features with the highest being that the fan will not run permanently anymore. The only sad part of the news is that you ahve to carry your inverter to buyright in order to update it.
