Phones / Best Used Phones That You Can Buy In Nigeria Under 250K by atheistandproud(m): 2:31pm On Aug 14
It is no surprise that we are in the midst of the worst inflation in the country's history. The prices of phones have more than tripled and price to performance ratio is all but dead. This has pushed many people into looking at the used market. In the video and post below, I'll be suggesting 5 of the best options that you can get for 50k as well as who to buy from on Nairaland here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-cYePrOZ4Q?si=xcGhc4DZUeSKNyXW

5. Realme Pad X
The Realme Pad X is a decent enough tablet for those who prefer a device with a bigger screen. Whilst it lags behind the other devices on this list when it comes to performance and gaming, it is more versatile and can be used as a media house or for work as well as other tasks.

See: aezenkwu

4. POCO X3 GT
The Poco X3 is the budget option to those who cannot afford the Poco F3 and subsequently the Poco F4. Even though it cannot match its F series cousins in raw processing power, it does outdo them when it comes to affordability.

See: Meister

3. Poco F3

The Poco F3 is an old flagship killer from 2021 that was designed to offer great performance on a budget. Even though it has been largely overshadowed by newer and more powerful phones, the Poco F3 still delivers on it’s overall promise, that is giving good performance on a budget.

See: Noobody

2. Poco F4
The Poco F4 is the successor to the aforementioned Poco F3 and it made it’s debut in 2022. It also shares the same promise of providing great performance on a budget. The Poco F4 is a slightly upgraded version of the Poco F3.

See: Noobody

1. Xiaomi Mi 11i
The Xiaomi Mi 11i was offered by Xiaomi as a more affordable option to those who couldn’t afford the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. In it’s heyday it was a fantastic phone it is still better than most mid-rangers today.

Does it lag, That's what I am asking. Cause the Samsung Galaxy S9+ I am using can also play in high settings, but it Lags after sometime

See guy, it is not my business whether you buy Xiaomi or not. I couldn't care less. I'm not convincing you to do anything.

But the fact that you're seeking for my opinion, then questioning it over and over, then comparing a 2017 Flagship to a modern Flagship killer offends me. It offend me alot especially after I had told you that it's child's play and gave you a link to see the same phone handling Warzone Mobile which is far superior to CoDM. As though I don't know what I'm talking about.

So I'll not be replying you again after this.

How fa, does it handle CODM wella?

It's a former flagship killer that plays Call of Duty Warzone Mobile bro at mid to high settings. CoDM is child's play.

My Redmi Note 12's hotspot switches off itself even when devices are connected. Does anyone have an idea how to solve it?

Also, I have been getting these "couldn't activate sync call history and messages" notifications since. How can I resolve it?

Everything I have tried didn't work.

1. Does your phone heat up?
2. Does it lag during hotspot use?
3. Do you run out of RAM?
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by atheistandproud(m): 4:33am On Jul 09
23jerryking:
You know there used to be a time when this was true. But when my former phone had this challenge I slapped a new screen protector upon it and yet is still managed to find a way to expand even without dropping.

Glass is not a living entity. It doesn't do things instead it reacts to actions. If a screen has a crack already, it'll grow due to:

1. Applied pressure
2. Physical trauma (falls or bumps)
3. Movements and vibrations (especially the latter)
4. Quick temperature changes (cool to hot and hot back to cool). Glass expands on heating and shrinks on cooling. The SoC uses the display as a heatsink too.

If you've had glass cracks expand before then it's the user's fault, never the glass' fault. Because glass is an inanimate object.

If the person in question is using a phone covered by Gorilla Glass 3, 4 or 5, they need not worry. The crack they're seeing is on the Gorilla Glass and won't affect the touch screen or the display below.

eteebanky1:

In this case, I'll advise you to apply liquid screenguard first before putting Glass one on it

I disagree sha. That liquid may find it's way into the display before it hardens. The glass won't expand or crack unless he holds his phone over a furnace or drops it again. He can slap a screen guard over it and rest easy.

Phones / Re: 10 Simple Reasons Why The Itel RS4 Is Not A Gaming Phone by atheistandproud(m): 11:59am On Jul 06
Mistral:
For those with no data. Here;

Based on the video, here are the 10 reasons why the Itel RS4 is not the gaming phone that it is marketed as:

1. Performance - The Itel RS4 has a Helio G99 processor, which is a decent lower mid-range chip, not a high-end gaming processor. Other phones with the same G99 chip are not marketed as gaming phones.

2. GPU - The Mali G57 MC2 GPU in the G99 chip is not as powerful for gaming as the older Mali G76 GPU found in the Helio G90T and G95 chips.

3. Lack of Optimization - MediaTek chips, including the G99, are known to lack the level of optimization for games that Snapdragon chips have.

4. No 5G - The lack of 5G connectivity is a disadvantage for competitive online gaming where low latency is important.

5. No Gaming Overclocking - The G99 chip in the Itel RS4 is not overclocked, unlike some true gaming phones that boost the CPU performance.

6. 720p Display - The low 720p display resolution is not ideal for gaming, especially for competitive games that require good draw distance.

7. Old RAM Standard - The LPDDR4X RAM used is an older standard compared to the LPDDR5 found in more recent gaming-focused devices.

8. Lack of Cooling - There is no active or passive cooling solution mentioned for the Itel RS4, which can lead to overheating during extended gaming sessions.

9. Lack of Gaming Features - The Itel RS4 lacks features commonly found in dedicated gaming phones, such as trigger buttons, RGB lighting, etc.

10. Overhyped Marketing - Simply labeling a phone as a "gaming phone" does not make it one if the hardware and features do not truly support an enhanced gaming experience.

In summary, the Itel RS4 has decent mid-range specifications, but lacks the optimizations, features and performance required to be considered a true gaming-focused smartphone, despite the marketing claims.

I am beyond impressed, I'm stunned!
