Start with confessing your sins and ask the lord to have mercy on you with all sincerity. This is not the time to cover some sins and confess some. The Bible says the wages of sin is death and even the demons know all these. Only the Lord Jesus can save you permanently when u cling only to him. Running helter-skelter only makes "them" know you are empty hence they feed on your fear.

@OP, it's best to ignore these set of individuals that are seating on their "high horses" and passing judgements. They may have done worse in your situation. What if you and your siblings turned out badly, will the government or the children themselves be blamed? Then again, people are just selfish in their judgements.

The deed is done already. There's no need explaining to your wife's family because it will only open up a can of worms. However, you need to have a heart to heart discussion with your wife and that involves sincere apology and explanations. If she's by your side, you'll have a smoother ride out of this. Nobody needs any pastor to get to God.. The same Mandate given to me as a Christian is the same Mandate given to the person that tagged himself or herself G.O, Bishop, Pastor, Reverend etc.
Go into in the world and preach the Gospel. tell people about Christ.. that is the Mandate given to all. I don't know where they got their own brand of Christianity from.
The greatest apostles PAUL, PETER etc never became a G.Os telling people to bring tithe and offering to them.

Very true. The devil is very wise and crafty, little wonder he is usually depicted with a serpent. He knew the tree that would utterly destroy man. I pity people that feel they have the strength to destroy the devil who was an archangel, who even has meetings with God (afterall, in Job, God asked the devil where he has been and he answered "moving to and fro looking for who to devour", and God was the one who boasted about job his servant to the devil), who was in existence before the world was formed and even possibly assisted in creation ( After all it was "Let US make man in OUR own image" ) . We (man) view things from our mortal stand point and the devil is not mortal. There are so so many mysteries. The only thing that will save man from the devil is for man to seek God with a sincere heart.
