Education / How To Write Winning Upwork Proposals by atirenesam(m): 3:02pm On Aug 09, 2020
Upwork has become one of the biggest online platforms for freelancers all over the world to exchange their services for money, and earn a living. The platform has millions of freelancers, and often, in your field of expertise, you will find at least 5 freelancers bidding for the same job as you. And as with Upwork model, before you can bid for jobs, you need connects. While connects may come to some people as cheap ($10 per 20 connects), when you constantly use your connects to bid for jobs, yet cannot land a client, everything becomes a headache. For this reason, I want to show you how to write winning proposals that will help you get the Upwork contracts you desire.

Before we begin, you cannot submit a proposal to Upwork’s clients if your account is not approved and your identity verified. We help people create approved and verified U.S. Upwork accounts that can be operated without a VPN. DM 09061502932. We have helped tens of people open their accounts and they have gone on to earn a good living from their account. The total package includes a free grammarly account, an ebook/tutorial on succeeding on Upwork, and a U.S or U.K Upwork account.
To send winning proposals to clients:
• Do not apply for a job that you cannot deliver: If your gut tells you not to take a job, follow your gut and let the job go. If you cannot deliver on the expectations of a client and you do not have someone you can outsource the job to, do not bother to apply. The only thing worse than no job is bad review—and its step-sister, refund request. If you suffer any of these two unfortunate events (a bad review and a refund request), your JSS score will drop.
• Tailor your proposal to your client’s needs: There’s never a one size fits all proposal. When you submit a proposal, be sure to address the client’s job outline. Read the job description thoroughly and understand just what the client wants. Never send the same proposal to multiple clients. It’s lazy, and a sure way to get suspended.
• Check the client’s history: Some clients are nasty; avoid them. If freelancers constantly complain about a client, or a client is known not to give 5 stars or good feedbacks, proceed with caution.
• Talk about the client: A winning proposal should be semi official. Even if you have never met the client, check his/her name from past work.
Below is an example:
Hello Bill,
Thank you for the job posting. My name is Ashanti Cole, and I am a professional writer, editor, and researcher. I have successfully ghost-written tens of ebooks for various clients, in sub-genres including Christian, romance, adventure, self-help, and health and fitness. Storytelling is an art I have mastered and if I am chosen for this project, I will write a thrilling romance best-seller for you.
My services include:
1. Write a detailed outline (this will ensure that we both agree on the direction the ebook should take before I begin writing the main document)
2. Write from thorough research
3. 100% unique non-plagiarized content
4. Careful and thorough editing.
5. Formatting: this includes placement of TOC in the book.
6. Fast turnaround
7. Free Copyscape report on the document.
8. Free conversion and delivery of the document in PDF, MSWord, EPUB, and MOBI formats.
I have a few questions I need to ask regarding the project:
1. Will I be delivering references of my research?
2. Is this an academic project?
3. What tone would you prefer?
Let’s work together and make this book a best-seller.
Warmest Regards.
Do you see how well-crafted this proposal is? First, it addresses the client by name, evoking a personal feeling; second, it highlights the services, including free services the client will enjoy; third, it asks necessary questions; fourth, the English is simple and it communicates the freelancer’s intentions.
If such proposal is submitted, the client is more likely to respond to the freelancer and probably send an offer.

Note: You can get a client's name by checking his/her review. If the client has worked with previous freelancers, they will most likely use the client's name in the review.

• Send convincing work samples: Your proposal and work samples speak volume of your relation skill and actual skill. If you are applying for a romance fiction job, send samples of romance fiction. If you do not have exact samples of the type of work your client wants done, submit a related sample. For example, if the client wants an SEO article on solar panels, you can send any SEO article. The article, if well written, will convince the client of your expertise.
• Appreciate him even if he does not hire you: About three years ago, there was this client who posted a job for a romance fiction. He needed an erotic romance novel written for him. The word count was 20,000 and the pay was $1,000. It was a great gig and even though I had just started freelancing on Upwork (this was years ago), I applied. I submitted samples (erotic is my thing), and made a bid of just $500 to beat out the competition (I would not recommend this). The client’s specific qualifications for any freelancer included a job success score of 90% or more, and a rising star badge. I had none, but I knew I could do the job. In the proposal, I reminded him that even though I was new to Upwork, I was an excellent storyteller. He sent a message a few hours later and conducted an interview. I lost the job to another freelancer, but I sent a message, a few minutes after he gave the job out, to thank him for even honoring my proposal and talking to me. I reminded him that if he ever had another project, he should let me know. I promised to do an outline of his ebook for him and a short 1000 word write up for just $10: if he liked the direction, he then could hire me; if not, he could hire another freelancer. He promised to put me in mind for another project. Two months later, he contacted me and I bagged my first $1,200 job.
Some freelancers feel that one has to be lucky to bag good jobs on Upwork; the reverse is the truth. Luck has absolutely nothing to do with getting job offers. It begins with the proposal. Your proposal must be written to convince the client that you are a professional, and at the same time, still strike a semi-personal front. If the client likes you, he will most likely give you the job.

If you are tired of constantly writing proposals without good results to show for it, you can always contact me: 09061502932.

I will add you to a new whatsapp group where up and coming freelancers will be able to learn how to make money online. Thanks.
Politics / 7 Things To Never Do On Upwork by atirenesam(m): 2:35pm On Aug 09, 2020
Upwork is the world’s foremost global freelancing platform and you can make tons of money from the platform. Upwork has very strict rules and these rules are meted harshly on freelancers. If you break any of their rules, they reserve the right to ban you from their platform, and you may also lose your earnings. This is why it is relevant for you to know all their rules, especially the sacred ones that can get you kicked off the platform.
First, you cannot get kicked off Upwork platform if you do not have an Upwork account. We offer U.S approved Upwork accounts to anyone anywhere. With our U.S approved accounts, you can bid for jobs that are U.S specified and earn much more. Contact me here (whatsapp only, please): 09061502932
Back to business: here are 7 things you must not do on the Upwork platform:
1. Do not buy reviews: I cannot stress this enough: do not buy reviews. Upwork’s bots are smart and are configured to trace pattern of sales and purchases. If you must buy a review, make sure that the seller is far away from you; make sure he is operating a U.S. buyer account; make sure the money first goes to him, and then he can send it back to you; protect your IP address; and as with all rules, tread carefully.
2. Identity Fraud: Upwork takes identity fraud seriously. If you get kicked out because of ID fraud, you can never open another account again. But I must say here:
Upwork is by far the most racist freelance platform in the world; and while I will not support ID fraud, I cannot control your actions; however take note—if you must be a crook, do not get caught (PSD—Photoshop editable, U.S. Drivers Licenses for all U.S states ) DM: 09061502932 for more info.
3. Profanity: I remember a freelancer that advertised writing “erotic novels” in his profile. He was warned and then banned. Of course, clients are free to request for erotic writings and even graphics—but hell, they are clients, they pay the piper and should dictate the tune. But freelancers cannot, and they should refrain from using profane language on the platform. I just found out that “marijuana” is also a profane term on Upwork, even though the compound, especially CBD, has been declared legal in the United States.
4. Accepting or Soliciting Outside Communication and Payment: If a client asks you for outside receipt of payment, immediately, screen shot the chat and send to the community. Upwork has a platform for receiving video and audio calls; I do not see the need for an outside communication. Avoid these words in your proposal: call, phone, contact… For example, the sentence: “you can call me John” can be flagged for outside communication solicitation. Be careful.

To remain on the platform,
1. Read the Terms of Service (TOS) carefully. If you must break the rules, know what rules are worth breaking.
2. If you have an issue with a client, try settling it without filing a dispute. Upwork is stupid: even if you are right, you may first be punished before you are heard out.
3. Even if you try to bend other rules, never ever accept payments outside Upwork’s platform. It’s an unforgivable and unnecessary risk. If a client cannot pay you through Upwork’s platform, then the client is a fraudster. Run.
If you want to be a part of a new freelance Whatsapp group where I teach people how to earn money from Upwork and Fiverr, please send me a message on Whatsapp here: 09061502932
Business / Re: How To Make $1,000/month Writing And Researching Online by atirenesam(m): 7:22pm On Aug 05, 2020
yebo36:
I miss writing so much since I got my present job about 2 years back. I still want to keep writing along side with my job, i can write 500 words every day with no challenge.

If you are willing to let me write for you, I will deliver quality articles that are 100 percent unique and error free.

500 naira for 500 words is my starting price and you won't be disappointed you hired me.
Thanks
Bro, do not sell yourself too short. 500 Naira for 500 words? That's desperate. Find a way to get your own clients. Register on freelance platforms; beef up your own branding and stop taking jobs that will kill you. For you to make N50k per month at this rate, you will have to write 50k words per month. It's not worth it.

Politics / Are You A Gadget Dummy? by atirenesam(m): 3:33pm On May 09, 2020
Some years ago, I was walking from my office in Victoria Island. It was 6 PM and I was on a call with my younger sister. A scrawny looking teenager walked up to me. He gesticulated that he had not eaten. Out of pity, I reached out to my pocket and before I could say “Jack Sparrow,” three other young men appeared behind me with guns. To cut the long story, I was robbed. The thieves took my personal phone, my official phone, my laptop, cash, my ATM pin, and my ATM card.
Luckily for me, I just helped rent out a two-bedroom apartment in Lekki Phase 2, so I cashed out 50,000 naira two days after the incident and got another phone. As for a new laptop, I was not so lucky. I had to wait another 6 months to gather the money needed to buy a Core I7 PC. Those 6 months were terrible for me. I am a full-time content developer, so you know what it means to be without a gadget in 6 months.
To the main topic: I lost my phone and laptop and in 6 months, I could not get another laptop. After the incident, I realized I was a gadget dummy. If I was wise, I won’t be in a position where an unforeseeable incident completely rids me of a laptop for a long time.
ARE YOU A GADGET DUMMY?
Most of us are, but below are indications that will point out to your gadget dumbness.
1. YOU DO NOT BACK UP NECESSARY FILES
Backing up your files to the cloud or any other remote storage is simple and will only take 5 minutes of your time; yet, people almost always forget to do this. Then they start to regret after their gadget (phone, laptop, or tab) unexpectedly crashes. Your gadget is never as airtight as you think. It is imperative you back up content within your phone and PC regularly. The great thing is, you do not have to back up manually, you can set your PC or phone to back up to the cloud every one week. This way, if it crashes or gets stolen, you do not lose years of hard work.
2. YOU DO NOT TAKE NECESSARY SECURITY MEASURES
How long will it take for you to install anti-virus in your system and phone? 10 minutes max—and you can be doing other things as the program installs. Then why are you being a dummy? Security is more important than any program, work, or gig, you have going. Imagine gathering a pot of gold and leaving it outside your house: this is exactly what you do when you do not get the right anti-virus for your system/phone. Also, for creatives who run blogs or Instagram and YouTube Channel, take security seriously. For example, always set your Instagram, Whatsapp, and Twitter, log in to Two-Factor Authentication, and you will be relatively secured from hackers.
3. YOU DO NOT SET ASIDE (GADGET EMERGENCY FUNDS)
I was once this foolish but after I got robbed and lost quite a number of clients because I did not have a laptop to work with, I learned the hard lesson. As a creative, your equipment and gadgets are more important than food. When you make some money, always set aside cash for emergency gadget issues. Your phone can get stolen anytime. Your child can slam your laptop on the ground for no reason. Little money saved over time will become meaningful funds that can be used to repair and replace gadgets when they get spoilt. Don’t eat all your earnings. Be wise.
4. YOU DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR GADGETS
What people do not understand is that your gadget speaks a lot about your work. Even if your work is good, people who pay top money will not hire you if you do not have good gadgets. I once went to a friend’s studio hoping to pay him for a song for my younger brother and I ended up not paying. His gadgets were disappointing. If you are just starting out, use what you have. Do not let a lack of gadgets stop you, but as you grow, move from Core I3 to Core I5 and then to Core I7; buy better camera lenses; if you are a Vlogger, get a phone with better camera quality; buy a good generator so that you won’t have to rely on NEPA all the time. Upgrade your gadgets. When you are just starting out, cut costs of food, women, clothing to a bare minimum so you can save up for good gadgets that will not only make your work faster but will also make your clients more willing to hire you.
Let me stop here. If you are guilty of the aforementioned crimes, you are a gadget dummy and you need to change. Growth is a process and you can speed it up by always having the right tools.
If anyone wants to learn how to get a blog started, I am building a Whatsapp group where I post regularly on creating and earning with one’s own blog. It is absolutely free. Chat me up on WhatsApp. Please, I do not entertain calls. Chat only Zero Nine Zero 61 Five Zero 29 Three 2.

Celebrities / Will Naira Marley Be Sent To Jail? He Is To Appear In Court Today by atirenesam(m): 3:43am On Feb 27, 2020
On May 10, 2019, popular singer and songwriter Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley was arrested alongside four other people, including popular rapper, Omoniyi Temidayo Rapheal--also known as Zlatan Ibile, and two others. The arrest came after the duo--Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile, released the visuals to their song, "Am I a yahoo boy?" While EFCC released three of the young men arrested, Naira Marley was remanded under EFCC's watch, in prison, until his first court hearing.

The singer was arraigned May 20, 2019, and was charged with 11 counts of conspiracy, possession of counterfeit cards, and fraud. He was eventually granted bail in the sum of 2 million naira and two surities, while his court hearing was adjourned till October 22, 23, and 24, for accelerated hearing. The second hearing, in sure pomp, also resulted in another adjournment, dated February 27, 2020

The singer and songwriter dropped a couple of hit songs on the wings of the new height of popularity he had gained due to his arrest. His first song after his release was "Soapy," an immoral but widely accepted song. He soon became a cult figure, gathering over a million followers on Instagram and becoming the most searched name on Google at the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020.

Unfortunately, the privileges he enjoys as a music star and grand celebrity may be cut short if he is found guilty by the court today. In a few hours, Naira Marley will face the law and if found guilty, he may be sent to seven years in prison. The question then is: What are his chances of escaping prison. According to the law, "Any person who uses: a counterfeit access device, an unauthorized access device; an access device issued to another person, resulting in a loss or gain commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term of not more than seven years or a fine of not more than 5,000,000.00 and forfeiture of value derived from his act."

Therefore, if Naira Marley is found guilty, he may serve jail term of no more than seven years; however, he has the option of paying a fine. While the "option of fine" is in the fine print, the option to be fined is actually entirely up to the judge. This only means that if he is faced with a vindictive judge, he may very well be sent to prison without an option of fine.

Meanwhile, his friend and fellow rapper, Zlatan Ibile, has taken to social media via a Instagram live post to support him while his hearing looms.

Politics / A Pair Of Mating Worms? Daddy Freeze Comes Under Fire After Insulting Tope Alabi by atirenesam(m): 6:27am On Feb 25, 2020
Remember that some days ago, a video surfaced online showing the gospel singer Tope Alabi dancing a 'rather' secular dance style called Zanku. She came under heavy fire from fans who felt she was not representing her religion well enough. She eventually gave her response claiming she had just 'buried her father' and was only dancing to remove the pain of losing her dad. Daddy Freeze in his usual controversial manner could just not sit and let the publicity stew steam without him tasting it so he released a post claiming Tope Alabi looked like a pair of mating worms. Nigerians and a few celebrities immediately reacted to his poor choice of words. The backlash came after recent backlash he faced for insulting the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
Check out the juicy replies he got via the link below

Politics / How Lagos State Ban On Bike And Keke Napep Is Killing Innocent Lagosians by atirenesam(m): 1:05pm On Feb 13, 2020
My name is Akinolu David. I live in Ketu, Lagos State and work in Lekki. Every day, I have to wake up as early as 5:30am if I am to get to work by 8am. On most days, I leave work by 6pm and get home as late as 9pm– Sometimes 10pm. It is a terrible way to live and Lagos state government has made my life and the lives of thousands of other hard-working Lagosians a living hell.
On February 6, 2020, Lagos State Government decided to place a permanent ban on the activities of bikes (okada) and tricycles (keke napeps). This policy has placed great strain on the lives of the already stressed Lagosians. The ban has put thousands of okada riders out of a source of income. Two days ago, Gokada announced a 70% lay off of its staffs.
The ban has led to an increase in unemployment level. Unemployment will lead to increased crime and in turn a less safe Lagos for all. This ban is undemocratic and we all have a duty to make sure it is reversed.

HOW WE INTEND TO DO IT
1. Most of the roads banned are actually federal owned roads; therefore, Lagos State government does not have the right to ban movement of Okadas and Keke napeps on them. This petition is addressed to the federal government to pressure Lagos State into reversing the ban.

2. The Transport Section Reform Law, under which the ban is being enforced clearly gives the Commissioner of Transportation only regulatory rights. An outright ban of Keke Napeps and Okadas goes beyond the state’s constitutional prowess.

#Ourlivesmatter and we (the masses) deserve to be considered in every policies a government we elect to power make.
Sign the petition below today and help save the lives of fellow Nigerians.

Nairaland / General / What Is Vertical Manufacturing by atirenesam(m): 10:58am On May 06, 2019
Vertical manufacturing is an economic and business concept that should be understood by ambitious entrepreneurs.
In simple terms, it means when a manufacturer directly gets involved with some of the processes of a value chain. A value chain is the process a good goes through till it reaches the final consumer. Let's take a suga company as an example. A sugar company sources its raw materials from farmer and uses the raw material- mainly sugarcane to produce the sugar. The company also sells the sugar to major distributor who sells them to wholesalers, and then retailers, and then to final consumer.
We ccan draw a simple value chain for sugarcane as thus:
Manufacturer bys sugarcane, manufacturer produces sugarcane from sugar, manufacturer sells sugar to major distributor, distributor sells to wholesale, wholesale sells to retail, retail sells to final consumer. However, a manufacturer can decide that instead of buying sugarcane, it can start its own sugarcane plantation.
Are you a food vendor, are you buying foodstuffs from suppliers when you can be making yours?

Nairaland / General / The Amazing Airbnb Story by atirenesam(m): 10:49am On May 04, 2019
One thing I have seen a lot of Nigerian entrepreneurs do is follow blindly the teachings of Europeans entrepreneurs. I rarely report European story as I am more inclined to reporting stories of Nigerian and African entrepreneurs breaking barriers; however, this is a great story and I think we all can learn from it. Airbnb boys started a business just to make a few bucks and finally turned it into a multi-million dollar corporation. As they have, through the years, overcome opposition, I took time to tell their beginning tale. Please hit the link below to read the amazing story of the Airbnb boys.

Nairaland / General / 5 Things That Make A Man Great In Bed by atirenesam(m): 7:08pm On Feb 13, 2019
You know when you just finished having sex and you say to yourself, “damn, I’m good at this”, but she says to herself, “what a dick”. Imagine making love to a woman for a whole ten minutes and she doesn’t have even one orgasm. I read a book a while back, and in the book, the author, who is a marriage counselor, said, over 90% of the women she counsels complain of not hitting orgasms. If you read their letters, you will be amazed. Some of these women do not even know what an orgasm feels like, others climaxed five, ten, twenty years ago.

COMMUNICATE: Communicate with her. The macho macho hit man style of sex doesn’t always work. Ask her if you are going too fast; ask her if you are going too slow; ask her if is painful. Sex is meant to be enjoyed by both parties, therefore, try to talk to make sure that she is getting the best out of you. If you do not communicate with her, you won’t know if she is really enjoying it. Also, you can communicate with your fingers, eyes, nose toes; you can talk to your woman with every single part of your body—and hers.
CHEMISTRY: Is she attracted to you? Are you more in love with your car? Sex isn’t separate from romance and romance isn’t separate from chemistry. You want her to enjoy you more, then try doing the things that she loves; make her happy; be around for a while, go to the gym; get sexy; care for her, and she will come every single time you make love to her.
FELATIO: Dear, we love our heads. A good head before a hot round of banging almost always works. By the way, if you love Mouth Action, learn to give a good head and she might reciprocate with enthusiasm. Remember, sex is about giving and taking, that is, even though you want pleasure, you have to give pleasure.
OBSERVE: Women are different. Your ex’s best sex position might be the doggy but your new girl is different and she might prefer a simple sex position like the missionary. Learn what makes... TO READ ON, CLICK THE LINK BELOW

Nairaland / General / How To Make Money As A Nigerian Freelancer by atirenesam(m): 6:35pm On Feb 13, 2019
It's quite frustrating when you do everything they asked you to do: You create a good profile picture (where you give a wide smile), you sign up on freelancer, fiverr, or upwork, you apply for jobs; however, clients don't just call back.

The reason why you are not getting jobs is that you are doing what the white man has advised you to do. The average white person living in the United States of America will most likely get jobs if he creates a great profile and applies for jobs. The reason for this is that the white man trusts his fellow white men. He would rather give a job to his own people because he trusts his own people. This is the summary.

When it comes to writing, U.K freelance writers are preferred, U.S writers come after U.K writers. Non-English speaking natives are not preferred. African writers fall in the category of non-English speaking natives and we are the least preferred of the least. We are like writer-goats: we can never get good jobs from freelance platforms.
When it comes to tech, India freelance tech providers are preferred (they have proven to be masters of everything tech); U.K and U.S follows. Africans are not trusted with tech-projects (we are like tech-goats).
Because freelance is an on-line thing, it is highly based on trust, and it is difficult for a Nigerian to gain the trust of a white man. It is even difficult for an African American to gain the trust of a white.
Get a good phone.
Get very good internet.
Get a location changer app (like Zenmate- and you have to pay)
Get an international number (Telos provides international numbers- you have to pay of course).
Set your location to U.K if you are a writer, and to U.S if you are a tech-guy.
Register on Fiverr and Upwork.
Get a valid U.K address for Upwork (ask your uncle, aunt, friend, or friend's friend - if you do not have any valid U.K address, forget upwork)

Education / Re: Breaking News! EFCC Declare War On DELSU Students by atirenesam(m): 3:18pm On Feb 10, 2019
Well, there are sufficient reasons why the government should start a war against cyber-criminals. With the trending news of people stealing other people's pants and personal wears, paranoia has certainly set in and we do not feel safe; however, the government should also try and provide good jobs. True punishment involves reprisal and rehabilitation. Anyways, about EFCC, a video surfaced online, showing an EFCC officer gunning down a civilian. It was a horrid sight. You guys can view the video via the link below.

These women, the second in particular, has the capacity to give M.I- THE KING OF RAP, a run for his money. It's hilarious and amazing at the same time. Hear it out yourself in the link below.
