Anger is an emotion that one should master. If you master anger by mastering it's usual cause then you can 'channel' it properly.
There is no how you can avoid anger, this is because it is a feature of humaneness. If you try to surpress anger, it turns inward and becomes depression.

So, it is very okay to be angry even very angry but then just learn to act proportionately. By this I mean, if you are angry with me for instance for not saying sorry when I offended you, do something you know will relieve the anger without causing you pain. For some people, acting proportionately maybe going to God in prayer, while others may choose to give the person his own medicine to take. None of these is superior. This is because, if one goes to God in prayer and asks God to fight for him or her, he is not better than he who fought head on.
