PTDF scholarship is not a strict scholarship, it's very flexible.

but this is a call to awakening, many of what xtian considered devilish/worldly before are now accepted by the xtian(you knw of this). sometimes we dn't need to judge a practice with our knowledge. none of those things are against d bible. u talk of astrology etc. no, they are totally different from what i've listed up there.
the practice isn't witchcraft neither does it involves the invocation of spirits or sacrifices.

what we xtian termed occultic is what they largely make use of.

most of the mental disorders like depression has been cured using meditation or yoga.

i'm still talking abt the scientific benefits of these practices.

what i'm trying to explain is that what we xtian term occultic(bad) aren't occultic as we tag them. for example yoga, meditation, tai chi and some few.

let me butress my point sir. in today's modern medicine, there is what we call complementary and alternate medicine(CAM). this is were once called traditional medicine are incorporated to the modern medicine. such as those i listed above, yoga etc.
they have been found potent in curing incurable diseases like cancer etc.
google search it to confirm my assertion. it would be better if you read it on john hopkin hospital or mayo clinic web pages(best hospital and clinic in u.s and the world) to clear doubts.

there was a time i read an article on this thread by anas09 or so where she condemn a book and calling it occultic.
the book is titled "the power of now" by tolle eckhart. bt when i read this book i was really transformed and experience a peace of mind. that is the best book for depression. yes it cures my depresion then!

bt religion has turned it so. "occultic" simply means "a body of knowledge known by few bt withheld from the mass due to their efficacy".

most of d best motivational book writers make use of the principles in d book. for instant the popular author of "eat that frog" , brian tracy. mostly use these principles in his books. what am i saying. go for d good side of everything!

i told u am a devote xtian believe me, i rever the bible as the best holy book.

i've been to churches and listen to messages most esp those from the nigeria "english" churches.

now to my point, there were messages i heard from some prominent 'new' nigerian preacher, which is quite different from my xtian background knowledge.
.
i got to learn abt spiritual dimensions, activating spiritual laws. new, new grammar borrowed from greek or latin. also new spiritual teachings wich is outside d scope of the bible yet they clain that they were taught by the holyspirit.

there was a certain teaching i heard dat push me to rigorous research then getting hold of those books.
.
ok the teaching was that. the pastor said that God created man with five elements of which are ‘earth’ ‘fire’ ‘water’ ‘sound’ and one other name like that. He even backed it up by some scripture and I was wowed.

This got me curious that I went to the net for the source of that msg and alas, I got it. It was actually these occultic teachings . I got to a website that elaborate it for me. Coming down to nairaland I got to be exposed to most of those things.

I do listen to one of those preacher who said he sees angels physically on weekly/daily basics. And I was wowed by his prowess. Having read a lot of xtian books, hardly have I read such an amazing encounter. But as nature would make it, I stumbled to a thread here on nairaland. There the writer(spiritualist) go to explain that it is practically impossible to see a spiritual entity with one’s naked eyes except he opens the third eye. I was wowed.
Once I listen to any of the so called powerful messages that is revealing the deep secrets of the spiritual realm. All I do is to note down strange words I heard and go research them.at the end of the day I got to realize that most of them had their sermon from occultic origin. I never label any pastor as occultic, but I think it’s good to be smarter.

Now I had a man on my Facebook page, he was once a so called powerful Pentecostal pastor until he woke and exposes the manipulation of the so called popular pastor. You can view his page on Facebook to ascertain my words. Charles awuzie”. He is so much influencial, though he was once a prophetic teacher, a missionary to mention few. I guess you will say he is a backslider but go to his Facebook page to understand better.
All these and much more makes me weary of so called church. For the few months have been trying to build myself in a personal relationship with God.
Don’t judge me by the book I read.all I wanted is result.
Who ever could tell the types of books all the prominent pastors are reading yet condemning the masses from reading them. In as much as a book can cure my problem, I can go any length to get it, but if he no get side effect ooo.

i can't ascertain if the cause is spiritual or not. but judging by the way it starts, i have the feeling dat it is spiritual.

it start on september 22/23 2018, then i went to write my p.ume in u.i.. waking up in the morning i used the toilet 5 times, i used drug yet to no avail. on getting to the exam hall it got worse, that i ran out 7 times consequtively. thank God, exam never start by then. by the last time i ran out, i met a lady who saw me and pray 4 me. d disease stop for the 1:30hr i spent in d exam hall. finishing d exam, it came back again. though i never made d admsn then.
d worse part is dat d disease become so acute wen ever i want to do exam. the jamb and p.ume i wrote the following year, same tin occur, though nt as tough as d first.

d disease has no physical impact on my body. i'm nt dehydrated neither am i lean.

one xtian author(robert liardon 'school of the spirit') once wrote that one will suffer in life if "one lack spiritual knowledge". of course i've experienced this, most esp from the environment i was brought up.

i've read the works of napoleon hill, the kybalion(there i got to learn d hermetics principles). i read a book by rhode bryne "the secret". in sort i've read some basics of "new thought" teachings.
so from some other sites, i've read the basic teachings(epignosis). teachings that may b deemed improper in this thread.

thank you for this. in my ques for supernatural encounter, i've dabbled across affirmation of a thing in "new age" movement. bt before then, we made more so called "confession' at christ embassy then. afirmation and confesion are same tin wit diferent names. of course i did confesions! i dnt even regard it anymore.

i have alot of challenges i'm facing apart from the health issues. these challenges are so overwhelming that i have no option that they needed supernatural encounter.
i wish i could pray on my own and see miracle happens, but that is not the case now.
i've been to powerful crusades yet nthing happen.

some yrs back i happened to meet a pastor(a G.O). i could say he's so powerful owing to d testimonies from his church. i attended his church 4 few months b4 leaving ibadan then.
he claimed to have healed the blind, mad men and all sort of disease and i experience some live miracle frm him too.
i went to his office and he prayed for me(for the ibs disease). i experience instant change in the nxt 7 days. bt afta then the disease com back again. this discourage me alot that i started disbeliving the existence of 'supernatural' within xtiandom.

wat steps must i folow? what church must i change to? what buk suld i read to have this personal supernatural power/encounter sir?

now let me explain my perception abt christianity. i read from a book by roberts liardon that christianity can either be a mere "religion" or a path to "spirituality". spirituality which is the actual path to the supernatural.

i grew up as a devote xtian in church which doctrine revolves around "religious" aspect of xtianity. we were told to follow the religious dogmas and live as a xtian gentle man.

i need supernatural manifestation of xtianity not just following moral ethics based on doctrines.
i wouldn't mention any church here but my spiritual ignorance is as a result of church i was brought up. i belive there is more to xtianity than holiness. there is greater aspect to the supernatural which the so called local churches wnt talk of.

in my understanding of christian spirituality, i read and i heard that some believers operate at a higher ANOINTING. those believers cn speak/pray and get result instantly. they have no barrier to their request from God. those are the ones we see that heal d sick and raise the leper. bro you know of this than me.

but the worst abt them is that despite i practice wat is in their book, i couldn't see the efficacy.

i av tried my best in prayer yet no change.
