Power plants especially Gas and/or Coal and Regional railway links are what the regional government should find Chinese financiers.

These are the only projects that will give the region any hope of creating jobs within the region and cheaply moving goods and services from point A to point B.

Every other thing is secondary to these two major things that must happen.
I totally agree with you. Until we start discussing it we may not find solutions to it. We can draw willing investors through this awareness. Let this thread not be about another 'my kitchen is better than your kitchen'. Lets go regional this time by discussing broadbased regional developmental issues. My take.

There is a topic been discussed about solving the housing deficit in the region in the next 30years. We need to look into this before we are faced with the biggest problem of the century, homelessness. We should start having ideas that can give us the right design and healthy environment because of our increase in population and future economic expansion.
You just captured the same thing i was saying earlier. Let us discuss real issues concerning the region towards economic development and infrastructure.

Nothing stopping anyone from raising any topics of their choice, even as pictures are dropping. We are all free to contribute topics of all types here.
Bro, if it is the usual showing of pictures from state to state, the forum is already awash with it. Let us focus on economic issues, let this be a total departure from the usual threads where we have been showcasing projects both public and private. I was thinking it's gonna be a blending thread for the home residents and abroad residents to brainstorm on investment opportunities both in private and public sector. Let the thread have a direction, and not just random show of the states. Showcasing of investment potentials in the region, like oil/gas, coal, and other mineral resources in the region. Let the discussion drive towards regional development including Igbos in Delta, Rivers, etc. My take though.

Southwest Governors To Bid For Murtala Muhammed Airport Concession

I brought this up for a purpose. These guys are thinking regionally ahead. Let us look at the regional map including Delta(Anioma) and Rivers(Igbo).

We can even draw government agencies and commissioners from the east to this thread to tap from some of brainstorming and delivery of ideas.
PoliticsRe: . by AuntLaVIV(f): 5:15pm On Apr 21, 2018
I thought this thread will be a complete departure from the usual showcasing of SE which we have seen all over NL.

I was expecting thread where brainstorming on economic issues will be done. A thread that will chart a course for Igbo economic integration and economic independence through joint infrastructure and investment.

If that is not the case then the aim is defeated already.

Road construction can starte and re-start, it is a normal thing everywhere. As you can even see it is a very long stretch of road, the area is a new area that is being opened up. The road has started, it is the completion that is the next thing. I will go there myself to check out stuff.

I have tried to capture the blue roof in your post. I'm sure the pix u posted was when the place was newly constructed. The blue roof is presently a Juhel gas plant. Many gas plants are domiciled in the axis. As you can see, the road development going on in your pix has been fully completed.
Pardon my sarcasm. will never show us this place. His own Awka is just roof tops
This is a road which I am very much aware that is still under construction. I am very certain the last I visited British Spring College that they were still clearing the down part because it is a very long stretch of road.

Obiano Reveals Plan to Boost Anambra’s Tourism Offerings

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has declared a bold intention to place Anambra State on the nation’s tourism map as his second term in office gathers steam.

Speaking at the State Executive Council Meeting in the Government House, Awka on Monday, Governor Obiano revealed his plans to open a window into the attractive tourism offerings of Anambra State by constructing access roads to the famous Ogbunike Cave in Ogbunike town in Oyi Local Government Area as well as the Ogbaukwu Caves and Waterfalls in Owerre Ezukala town in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state.

The Governor also spoke of his plans to construct concrete footpaths that would lead into the bowls of the caves to make them more accessible to tourists.

Expressing his desire to showcase the fullness of Anambra’s tourism endowments to the world, Governor Obiano further revealed that the famous Ojukwu Bunker which provided a sanctuary to the great Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu during the Biafran War would be resuscitated and refurbished for tourism purposes.

The Bunker is located in Amorka village in Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. The Governor also explained that the Light-up Anambra Campaign would install its dazzling streetlights on the roads and footpaths leading to the Caves and the Bunker.

According him, to demonstrate his administration’s resolve to harness Anambra’s tourism potentials, some heavily branded two 30-seater buses would soon be deployed to operate shuttle services to tourism locations in the state.

Anambra is home to most of the historic sites of the Igbo people and home to some of nature’s amazing works. Apart from the two awe-inspiring caves in Ogbunike and Owerre Ezukala, Anambra is home to the famous Igbo Ukwu Bronze which has not only been described as the oldest bronze artefact in West Africa but as a more distinctly advanced bronze work than the contemporary bronze casting in Europe. The Igbo Ukwu Bronze is dated in the 9th Century.

Anambra is also home to the ancient kingdom of Nri and Aguleri which together offer a rich historical insight into the ancestral roots of Ndigbo. Both Nri and Aguleri provide an array of historical sites and symbols that make for interesting scholarly enquiry while offering a rich tourism experience.

For instance, Aguleri town in Anambra East Local Government Area is the home of Father Cyprain Iwene Tansi, the only Nigerian Saint who was beatified on March 22, 1998 by Pope John Paul II.

Governor Obiano’s drive into tourism is therefore a bold attempt to draw attention to Anambra’s layers upon layers of historical, religious and cultural endowments and make them accessible to the rest of the world.
