hmm Award winning author, Anambra born Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie advocates for the abolition of bride price in Igbo culture. Has she gone too far with her feminist agenda? This is what she said... "When I got married, I felt very conflicted about the payment of bride price. And my father, a very lovely man, said he didn't want any money because we were not selling anybody. Instead he asked for something symbolic. “And so he asked for 1 kobo, because of its symbolism. I think bride price should be scrapped from our culture."

investnow2013:please where is your source? |
AnambraDota:Yeah, of course there are so many big and good hotels in Onitsha especially at Fed housing, 3-3, GRA, Trans- Nkisi etc. There is another big hotel they just completed at Park avenue opposite Onitsha mall. They should speed up the one started by the last regime beside shoprite. There is another big one inside GRA being developed now. We need even more because of the volume of business in here is quite much. |

ANSMEDIA:Agro-industries creates more jobs than even oil companies when we consider the direct and indirect opportunities created by this facility alone. Thump up to the promoters of this noble idea. |
ANSMEDIA:I strongly believe that industrialisation is where the development of the southeast lies. Agro-industries placed China and Korea where they are today. I believe Obiano is towing the same path to add another economy to the state outside industrialization and commercialisation in the state. |
ANSMEDIA:Is like there is a concerted effort to light up all of Anambra down to the innermost rural areas. This is good for development. |

Dr Godwin Maduka the CEO of Las Vegas Institute is in town. I heard from a friend that he just brought in shipments of medical equipments for his high-rise medical research center in Anambra. They have been bringing in medical equipments and furnitures from the US for the past 6-months for the furnishing of the medical facility in Anambra. Bianca came around, i equally heard she's campaigning for the next senatorial elections.

asha9:You don't pay back insult with insult. Some of these guys are not properly informed to know what is even GDP to start with. |
BreakupNigeria:The survey was done based on states with the largest GDP. You can see Lagos, Rivers, Kano and Anambra. The Minister stated that it was the first time such survey is taking place in Nigerian states, so where did you get the report that Imo state is the 5th? I have never said anything about Imo state, i only posted the only official GDP ever done in Nigeria. I think you are the one with crab local champion mentality. BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 19, (THEWILL) – The National Planning Commission has put Cross River State’s Gross Domestic Product for 2011 at N1.28 trillion. Revealing this during a presentation on the outcome of the first ever survey of GDP of states in the country, the Supervising Minister of National Planning, Amb. Bashir Yuguda said the GDP of the state in 2010 was N1.32tn. The excercise which was carried out in six pilot states drawn from the six geopolitical zones of the country, put the size of the Anambra State economy at N1.01tn in 2011. Gombe State GDP for the same year is put at N0.94tn. Other states are Niger – N1.08tn, Kano – N2.26tn, Lagos – N4.45tn and Rivers – N5.52tn. https://thewillnigeria.com/news/cross-river-state-economy-worth-n1-28tn-in-2011-yuguda/ |
Though this explanation is totally unnecessary particularly in the quest to build a stronger eastern region economically. But I needed to put forward some of these facts to correct some misinformation particularly the guy that commented last. Anambra is by far the state with the largest economy(GDP) in the southeastern region and this should not be questioned by any informed mind. Below is the GDP of the state as at 2011, and I am very certain it must have grown far beyond what it was in 2011. BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 19, (THEWILL) – The National Planning Commission has put Cross River State’s Gross Domestic Product for 2011 at N1.28 trillion. |
2nd Niger Bridge: FG approves N206bn Anambra, Delta link road ABDULFATAI AYOBAMI IBRAHIM 5 JUL 2018 Olalekan Adetayo, Abuja The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved the contract for a 11.9-kilometre link road for the Second Niger Bridge. The road that cut across Anambra and Delta states will gulp N206bn. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of a meeting of the council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Mohammed explained that the contract for the link road also included the provision of associated infrastructure for the bridge. He said the contract was awarded to Julius Berger Plc, which is already working on the project. The minister stated that the Public Private Partnership model adopted for the project by the last administration had failed but that the present government was determined to complete it. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/punchng.com/2nd-niger-bridge-fg-approves-n206bn-anambra-delta-link-road/amp/ |
