Probably your device, or check settings to ensure that Netflix can draw over other apps. That might work.

I use a 2022 device and I have the same issue. It's not a fault, more like a feature.

The battery is not the culprit really. I doubt it. That phone is old and needs replacement. Replace the battery and the phone will be working just fine. For an almost 5 year old phone, it surely will no longer be able to hold charge like before.

Change the battery first, sell it and buy something more recent.
