Our vines are really picking up, and from the looks of things, I should already start marketing to farmer… I’ve also started transplanting some vines for root production. Any one interested in buying vines for the planting season can drop me a message.

She's lucky there's no petty thieves over there. Assuming it was here in Ogun , the thing will be riping inside thieves stomachs.
Congratulations to your mum, next harvest will be bountiful. Now this statement put fear in my mind ooo.. make nobody go harvest my pineapple farm here in Ogun state oooo.. I fit cry if e happen. Been nurturing those babies for close to 18 months. |

nonxo007: This was just the motivation I needed. I have it at heart to start farming this year, I have already secured a land and hopefully would clear it up by the end of this month. I am still contemplating on what to grow, I am hoping you could give me some suggestions. The land is in Abuja and the rains have gradually started.
Kindly give an advice to a newbie in farming, this is my first time. As a newbie though, you could try your hands on maize or cassava or both.. Those crops are quite rugged and can withstand some severe weather conditions, depending on the variety planted. If irrigation is in place, you could go with Pepper, Tomato, Plantain, Ugu, Potato, Yam. In terms of long term crops, you could go with Palms, pineapples, Oranges, Mango, Teak tree. It all depends on what you intend on achieving at the end of the day… |

northbird: @ Austinreal. Good job. The weeder you posted up there. Was it used for clearing before planting, or you are using it to weed presently.?. Is the machine effective against weeds? I used the weeder before and after planting.. The picture posted was from yesterday at the farm. That's what I'm using to weed the maize.. it's quite effective against grassy weeds and early broad leaf weeds. Won't be too effective when the broad leaf weeds are mature |

Another day at the field today. Those crops are looking highly impressive, as they have started forming covers to the ground. I’ve also started first weeding, which would all be done with zero chemicals..

Update!!! The past couple has been quite stressful, being that I have to constantly be wetting the field every evening for most part. But the effort has been worth it. Most of the potatoes have started bringing out green leaves. Also the Ugu vegetables are doing pretty good.. however the sun has not been merciful for the past couple of days now..
Praying for the financial might to be able to get the drip irrigation solution.. Abeg anyone that is selling cheap oooo!!! Help a brother

I did a quick stop today at my other farm sites, and it appears the weeds in the pineapple farm has started sprouting rigorously. I would have to do something about it as soon as possible. My cassavas are looking quite okay.. Pictures attached.

I didn’t have sufficient space to store my vines, hence I had to improvise on a make shift shade. I should have left some trees to provide shade for the vines. But we move.
