One of The Lesson I Have Learnt In Mini Importation Over The Years


You see! I want to share something here for all to Learn because many people keep asking me how I manage to sell my goods so easily online. I am just tired of having to answer my guys one by one all the time. I decided to come here and share it once and for all.

I use what works for me..

The truth is that I use what works for me. I have learnt that to sell more goods, you have to take them to those that really need them. That means bringing the goods right in front of their eyes. That means adverts. So I decided to use 25% of my profits projection for ads and promotions...

I use platforms that work.....

You see, certain are best suited for social media and some suit online marketplace like jumia, konga and jiji. For such goods, I use jiji. My reason is that those that visit online marketplace go there either to buy immediately or buy later. Those that visit social media don't actually have buying intentions. They go to socialize, and occasionally come across some good items, sometimes they are moved to buy and sometimes they just look at the ads and just say " wao, see fine shoes or bag". But when the urge to check stuff to buy online, they head to jiji, jumia, konga,...... So choose what works. Put your products in the eyes of those who are actually looking for them.... But these ads cost money. If you want to make like #150,000 in profits, then be ready to spend like #25-30k on ads. The higher the profit projections, the higher the cost of adverts.

For mini importers, you can use social media platforms with proper ads targeting or online marketplaces with proper ads features- but all are paid for.

The sales is in a convincing advert.

From my experiences, some goods sell better on marketplaces like jumia, jiji,payporte, konga e.t.c and chief among them are:

Vehicles
Houses
Lands
Laptops and ipads
Home appliances
Smart phones
Farm produce

While some sell faster on social media like:

Health/fitness related products
Beauty products
Personal effects like clothes and shoes
Phone accessories....

My advice, if your products has small profit margin, use social media and if higher profit margin, use online marketplaces. The reason is because of buyers' attentions and cumulative effect on profits realised versus cost of adverts.

since you are using wordpress, it already has membership plugins which you can use. but with the features you are talking about, this means a custom job needs to be done either via template tweaking of plugins because you can't get such features from only plugins or template. this is not a cheap job so you need to be careful of getting ripoff again by those who would come with sweet talk to accept low price for this.

Thanks sir. As much as you are right, I won't take that risk of paying upfront again for any service provider on NL. The site is already running on WordPress, just those changes I listed above.

I paid the person who did the nonsense on the site upfront after explaining to the idiot programmer the basic features I wanted. He gave me 3 days to use and finish the job. 3 days entered 2 weeks. All he did was to install few themes and plugins,activated them and disappeared. What he charged was what I paid him completely.

He has a business website as a professional web developer, graphic designer , registered company, e.t.c with so many "claimed happy clients" that ran into thousands on his website. All these made me pay him upfront thinking he is genuine and has integrity. Not knowing he can't even write a single line of code.

I even got better knowledge of themes and plugins than the idiot.

I would have come to this forum to expose him but I just decided to let go. I don't have time to start chasing him up and down.
