Good news indeed! If any of you think you can now travel to South Africa without visa, then you must be living in dream land. The MOU is only for Nigerians with diplomatic passport. Dream on guys!

You bigots should continue writing nonse about Buhari while people who love the continue looking for candidate who can appeal to all political spectrum. Keep chasing shadow, APC will not nominate Buhari. When it is all said and done, Jonathan will not be our President on May 29, 2015.

I believe that you have a problem with comprehension. Where ever in all my post on this thread did I mention "election" or "Voting". Point B, opened a thread out of mere HATRED for the person of Buhari, and he wants the Igbos to join him in condemning a man whose action(s) was not done in isolation.
When other tribes start writing rubbish tomorrow about the Igbos and their heros, people like Point B will cry foul.

NB
I am very shocked to wake up and see this thread on the Front Page. A thread that will only show NL as a place where Tribal Bigots can come and unleash their hatred and intolerance on other tribes.
That is the bias we have to contend with. This would have been deleted or blocked if it was a thread against the warlord criminal called Ojukwu.

dayokanu: I am supporting what the Hausa officers did.

Nzeogwu and co murdered sleep and they did not deserve to Sleep

Of those people killed in Afghanistan, How many of them knew Osama Bin Laden?

In WW1, One man ArchDuke Ferdinand was killed and several million lives were lost as a result

Thats the nature of the world

When Ironsi refused to punish the January 15 coup plotters, then the Northern soldiers took the laws into their hands and dished it to the people who started the murders. The Nothern soldiers avenged for Sardauna

Adekunle avenged for Akintola who was murdered by Nwobosi and co. by killing everything on his way in Biafra
Nzeogwu was the cause of the mess. I just don't uderstand why anyone would blame Buhari for this mess. He was the youngest of all the officers. T.Y Danjuma who happens to be political role model to GEJ was part of the coup but no Igbo is accusing him of wrong doing. Nzeogwu deserved what he got.

thegoodjoehunt: This isn't Karma. Killing people that had nothing to do with the crime is not Karma but Wickedness. So they slaughtered innocent people in the name of what?

I understand that it was a retaliatory response. I haven't denied that but I am saying it was an unfair one. Even if the Soldiers were Igbos, they were their comrades who have sworn to defend the nation side by side with the murdering Soldiers.

I repeat it was an unfair and very wicked retaliatory response. No justification for that action.
Please give me any justification to what Nzeogwu did. He killed unarmed innocent people too. Were those people Nzeogwu killed inferior to the Igbo officers that died? I am not supporting what the hausa officers did, but what Nzeogwu did should never be condoned either.
PoliticsRe: How Muhammadu Buhari Murdered His Colleagues! by automaticcarzz: 4:06am On May 08, 2013
thegoodjoehunt: Arrest them. They were unarmed and were captured. Why snuff out their lives because someone killed people. It had nothing to do with these unarmed soldiers.
I really don't know your age but back in those days, these military boys knew nothing but to kill eachother. Killing eachother was the norms back then. It was Nzeogwu who caused the bad blood. The Hausas were also saying why did Nzogwu kill the person who was praying with his pregnant wife. They were unarmed too. What goes around comes around. It was unfortunate the way these people were behaving back them but karma is always and always been a b1tch.

Rossikk: Poverty Level Has Reduced In Nigeria – World Bank

Date: 17-Jan-2013

The World Bank has praised economic policies of President Goodluck Jonathan‘s administration, declaring that it has led to slight reduction in the country’s poverty index from 48 to 46 percent.

Mouktar Diop, World Bank’s vice president for Africa during his visit to President Jonathan yesterday said that Nigeria’s economic indicators remained positive even times of recession.

“At the time when the economy is going down, we have seen that Nigeria has been keeping a growth rate which is rather significant. So, I was here to hear from the President’s priority and discuss other issues such as how poverty has been evolving in the country and what we can do to accelerate the reduction of poverty.

“Our work recently has shown that there is slight reduction in the level of poverty in Nigeria moving from 48 to 46 percent. The trend is good. It needs to be accelerated obviously. What we discussed are the policies that we can put in place to accelerate the pace of poverty reduction in Nigeria,” Daily Trust quoted him as saying.

Diop also said the World Bank has decided to intervene in Nigeria’s energy crisis saying it has decided to put up a task force which will include private sector branch to support the reform.

Unlike the un-encouraging statistics that has been attributed to Nigeria by international organisations in recent times, this is quite welcoming. However, some Nigerians disagree with the statistics saying there is no visible improvement in the quality of lives of the average Nigerian and the poverty level is still high in Nigeria.

thegoodjoehunt: That is the point. The innocent Soldiers lost their lives in an unfair situation. A bloody revenge on innocent lives is painful. Yes it was a retaliatory response but a very unfair one.
Look at it this way: you went to work while your wife and two kids were home. As you were returning from work, someone told you some people killed your wife and two children. You got home you cried and buried them. You got married again and now have two new kids, one night 10 armed young kids broke into your compounds in the middle of the nights and you killed them. Were you overreacting for killing those 10 armed yound kids? You experience justified the killings.

Please, tell me what you think the Northern soldiers should have done.

ceejay4real: My dear fellow Compatriots, lets ask ourselves a question. Were the Northern Officers and Soldiers justified 2 murder close to 400 Igbo Officers & Men of the Nigerian Army on the 29th of July, 1966? Afterall, Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu & co only killed 8 Military Officers and 4 politicians on the 15th of January earlier in the same year, totalling 12 people in all. To keep the records straight, the 12 victims are as follows: Sir Ahmadu Bello (North), Sir Tafawa Belewa (North), Chief Ladoke Akintola (West), Chief Festus Okotie - Eboh (Midwest), Brig. Samuel Ademulegun(West), Brig. Zakariya Maimalari(North), Col Kur Muhammed(North), Col Robert Shodeinde (West), Lt. Col Abogo Largema(East), Lt. Col Arthur Unegbe(East), Lt. Col Yakubu Pam (North) & Major Sam Adegoke(West). Even the East had a ''fair share'' of the dead. I may dare say that what happened under Nzeogwu's command was a bloodbath but by no means a massacre not to talk of being a planned annihiliation of politicians & members of the Armed Forces 4rm a certain section of the country or Ethnic group by the Igbos! We should pls reason like patriots here and not bigots. The British Imperialists and the Northern Oligarchy (hegemonists) were behind d false & misguided rumours abt Maj. Nzeogwu's motives just 2 make sure Gen. J. T. U. Aguiyi-Ironsi was deposed asap and replaced by a Northern Head of State so as to foster d Northern Agenda. OK, lets assume d Northern Officers were justified killing hundreds of their colleagues in cold blood, were the Pogroms (against civilians) of 1966 and Genocidal war of 1967 - 1970 also justified? Pls lets always be fair minded and avoid petty hatred and sentiments in our posts here on NL. On Gen. Buhari, I believe he was ill-advised and misguided as at the time. He was barely 24 yrs old then. So I 4give him and pray d entire Igbo race do. God bless the dead. Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Tell that to the Americans who went to kill tens of thousands of terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan after they killed over 3000 American on 9-11. Nzeogwu and his cohorts caused the bloodshed. Did you expect the defenseless Northerners to wait on their arms and be killed like the people Nzogwu killed? The bloodshed was caused by power hungry Nzeogwu and his cohorts. It's unfortunate the Northerners responded the way they did. If you check the list of officers on the poster's list, T.Y Danjuma who is the so called Political role model for Jonathan was amongst the coup plotters from the North. Buhari was the youngest of all the officers. What about if he was following orders? Do you really know what it is to disregard order from your superiors in the military? Buhari was the youngest of all the officers and should never be blamed for the killings. Nzeogwu was the greedy man who brought the killings of himself and his cohorts.
PoliticsRe: General Buhari Is A Damaged Brand by automaticcarzz:
Nigerians deserve the situation they found themselves today.

Why should choosing people to lead us ever have something to do with religion or tribe? That means we are all agents of intolerance. SMH!

IBB, why did you set this great country 200 years backward? Nigeria's derailment began when IBB overthrew Buhari's regime. I remember how Buhari and Tunde Idiagbon scared corrupt government officials out of Nigeria after Shagari lost control of government to very corrupt government officials who only knew nothing but stealing from the coffer of the government. The same corrupt officials are the same people who are spreading lies against the good man of Buhari because they want status-quo to remain. They are the elites in the North and very young Southerners who are mostly of SE/SS origins born after 1985.

I still remember war against indiscipline when orderliness was the rein of the day. I remember our people not throwing dirt on the floor in those days. I remember naira was stronger than pounds or dollars. It was N1-$1.13. I remember our police force being friends of the masses by doing their utmost duty. I remember market women getting shops to sell their goods and stopped street hawking. I remember importation of goods were frowned upon and our manufacturers were manufacturing goods everyday. I remember government employees going to work at the right time. I still remember our teachers were getting paid by the last day of the month and not waiting for months before getting paid. I remember Buhari's policy drove armed robbber to relocate to Rep. Of Benin. I remember Buhari drove the Niger's citizens and Ghananians out of Nigeria because he wanted no one to share anything with real Nigerians.

I remember going to the airport in 1985 seeing how well dressed our Nigerian Airforce Officers and Nigerian Police Officers were and how professional compare to the ones we have today. I remember during Buhari's regime Nigerian Airways was one of the top three Airways in the world. I remember there was no big man mentality because everyone was equal before the law. Imagine Nigeria of 1985 being Nigeria of today. I remember Nigerians didn't need visa to travel to any country during Buhari's regime except Saudi Arabia. Nigeria's image was better after he drove the rogues in Shagari's regime out of government and put them up for prosecution. Compare that to what we have today when people like Obasanjo, Anehni, Tinubu and others walking free when they all have graft cases to answer as government of the day is toothlessly fighting phantom war against corruption. Umaru Dikko knows better today when it comes to prosecution for graft. I agree Buhari went to the extreme to fight corruption because corruption was order of the day under Shagari and Shagari lost full control of the treasury.

Let's fast forward to taday. Many of our government hospital facilities of today were supplied by PTF headed by Buhari in the 90s as the PTF Chairman. Many libraries in our universities and politechnics of today still boast of books in their shelves because PTF provided those books. I remember when we were getting text-books supplied to us directly by Buhari's regime without paying anything for it. We were literarilly getting free text-books supplies from the Federal Government of Nigeria. It was this same good man called Buhari who did that. Many roads today had their last upgrades during the PTF headed by Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari is a man of intergrity. Rumor has it that Obasanjo saw him as a threat in 2002 and set the ball rolling to probe Buhari but they came back empty for his role as PTF Chairman. Obasanjo later told his people he only wanted to find out because he knew him from when he (Buhari) was Petroleum Minister to be very honest and trustworthy. There was also rumor that Obasanjo narrated how Buhari reported the then IBB to Head of State (Obasanjo) that IBB wanted him to swinddle money and contract to certain people and enrich themselves but Buhari refused IBB's advise. This is the man we urgently need to arrest this corruption that is in our midst. El-Rufai once said Obasanjo secretely sent him to persuade Buhari to join PDP if he really want to become President and he (Obasanjo)would make sure that he realises his ambition under PDP but Buhari showed his true color by rejecting Obasanjo overture. This says a lot about his character. The man does not have thirst for power as widely reported. Buhari is the only military General who did not join PDP when the Party was founded. All former military Genarals got contracts worth tens to hundreds of million naira but Buhari did not participate. This is the man we all need. Our destiny in our hands and we should not fail our children and grandchildren. We have never had it so bad in Nigeria. I am not blaming Jonathan for our woes but he has shown in three years he has been in power to be part of the problem and not really interested in solving our problems.

God less Nigeria and God bless you Gen. Buhari for the good memory. Your regime was the last time Nigeria experienced the best moment in 53 year history. It will be a pleasure you set this country in the right direction again.

Now shut up! Soldiers are there to lay their lives for others. It's unfortunate the Igbo boys died but that's the nature of their job. Blame Nzeogwu for why Danjuma and others for what they did to your Igbo brothers. Those Hausas had to make statement after their nothern counterparts were killed also. GEJ, lies and corruption are inseparable. Otherwise, how can a man who pardoned a criminal still wanted for crimes in UK make this statement:
What institution is he building? Is it by his refusal to lead by example in public declaration of assets?
Or by the one month, one scandal administration he's running? Or by openly rehabilitating, politically, jailed criminals like Bode George?

GEJ is the corruption, nothing more.
Imagine Jonathan's apologists already jumped on his bandwagon celebrating the stamement made by incompetent President.
