This is the most useless article I have ever come across on NL. How can a proscribed group carry out such actions under the watch of German policemen and non of them were arrested as your zoo law condemned them as terrorist. Between, just read a German policeman said there will be no arrest since it is just a demonstration. that speaks volume of the deteriorated executive, judicial and legislative system in Nigeria have become.

u dont need to hold me in high esteem. I dont write for likes...i write to shape opinions.

The fact that the people who attacked him were not arrested even tho they never ran away showed clearly to any angry nigerian who is tired of our politicians that the european authorities are tired of our politicians too.

Get ur head out of ur hero-worshipping ass and read about the french revolution which opened the way for the europe u have today. Ekweremadu has just been sent a msg that men are not happy and that self help is next if he and others dont do their job.

He can start by agitating for state police

Nigeria has maybe 20yrs to get it right b4 the era of oil is over and we will have to rely on wat we built with our oil money for over 70yrs we were selling oil.

U think things are bad now? Now is not the time to use diplomacy on politicians

its interesting people see Ekweremadu as a problem but nothing to the sitting and ex-governors? Hope you know as a matter of the state is concerned, the governor is even to be held more accountable than the senators!
Politics / Ndigbos Attack This People If You Really Want Biafra To Come To Pass by AutoPhone: 5:18pm On Aug 19, 2019

After the attack on the ex-deputy Senate president, conservations and discussions are been held in various sections of the nation.

While the IPOB seems to get commended for the act and also sympathy from some sections of the country, others see them as a group without a clear, pure ideology and owners of misplaced priorities.

The attack on the ex-deputy senate president in Numerberg over the weekend like it or leave it is the beginning of many more to come.

It should be noted that former presidential candidate Mr. Sowore also planned a protest before he was picked up by the DSS back in Nigeria.

Just like a peaceful protest in 2012 "Occupy Nigeria" which forays the birth of new political parties and made our leaders more accountable.

As commendable or condemnable as the case may be, by people from different walks of life.

The attack on the ex-deputy president can be equated as spanking the wrong horse. Who then should be attacked if the former number 4 person in Nigeria is to be absolved of blame?

Nigeria as a country operates a federal system in which powers have been divided into subs, Presidency, State governors and Local government councils.

It is very shambolic that the office of the local government which is supposed to be the closest to the people has been reduced to nothing, the state government which is the immediate person in command and the number in control of any state seems to keep their coveted office's fo luxury and corruption.

The governor heads the government's executive branch in each state or territory and, depending on the individual jurisdiction, may have considerable control over government budgeting, the power of appointment of many officials (including many judges), and a considerable role in legislation.

Governors are responsible for implementing state laws and overseeing the operation of the state executive branch.

As state leaders, governors advance and pursue new and revised policies and programs using a variety of tools, among them executive orders, executive budgets, and legislative proposals and vetoes.

Governors carry out their management and leadership responsibilities and objectives with the support and assistance of department and agency heads, many of whom they are empowered to appoint.

In this season of big ideas, innovations, and vision, the governors are found wanting. For in the scheme of things, greatness has eluded them and opportunities they have in their hands to transform their states and its people are slipping away.

Most southeastern governors have little or nothing to show after the completion of their tenure, example is former Gov Okorocha of Imo who created the ministry of happiness and also sinks large chunks of money in erecting statues, the new governor of Imo state is currently removing those statues with government funds, hereby breading politics of hatred instead of serving the people by providing basic amenities and pushing for bills that will better the lives of the people he has come to serve.

The governors are not thinking and dreaming big despite the revenue they generate from oil and federal government allocations but they are rather engaged in small talks with basic and regular development.

Our people are great people of great history; we cannot afford to be regular people with regular achievements. That is not good enough for the Ndiigbo and for Nigeria in general.

The education and morality standards have fallen but our leaders are busy going after the little things while the house is in disarray.

Our youths are not properly educated and fed; they are the future of the South East but no attention has been given to them to train them properly and prepare them to handle the future tasks of tomorrow.

Instead of the people holding their feet to accountability and probity, they become sycophants and drum beaters.

People mill around the governors treating them as something extra-special and begging for contracts and handouts.

www.nairaland.com/attachments/4160432_bbjj_jpg8667664ba2d89d9c3fbef9ccd905a7bd

The behavior sends a wrong message to the governors and they forget that their power was derived from the people and their rulership came from the consent of the people.

Where are great ideas and innovations? The 20th century in South Eastern Nigeria was a birth of great ideas, institutions, and achievements.

Only when the governors start to show the resolve and initiative to be on top of the problems of the 21st century, then can the federal power which Senator Ekweremadu is one can perform and function well.

Who do you think is responsible for the woeful development of south eastern Nigeria? Drop your comments in the comment box below.

Its high time youths start engaging insensible and reasonable argument in the social spare. Everything doesn't have to go the way of tribe or religion (one major reason is not moving) rather we should learn to build a constructive and argumentative argument. Before you derail any thread at least verify you understand the motive of the thread and not just comment for the sack of it or space booking.

How much are will looking at and is it actually worth it?

I feel actually rewriting the camera codes will enable the cameras to work well especially with another camera apps, another interesting discovery is i dont think all the phone camera is working, for a device that uses sony camera and once showwed access to camera2 api ( Google cam) the camera should at least be clearer and standard. Atleast for a triple camera device and a device which clearly uses its camera as its selling point. #UMIDIGI A5 Pro, Triple Camera Value King).

The struggle for the actualization of the Biafra Nation took a new twist when members of the now proscribed group "IPOB" took laws into their hands and deemed it fit to send a strong warning to other Igbo politicians.

However, unknown to them is that to every action there is a reaction. The beating of ex-deputy senate president. Sen. Ike Ekweremadu might have passed a message as the group intended, it has however caused more adverse effects on the group itself.

The group with its recent action has justified the ban of its activities, which includes the right to protest, gather or even have a meaningful meeting by a federal high court in Abuja labeling them as a terrorist group.

With this, the groups claim to injustice and agitations for a breakaway has simply been rubbished, international bodies such as Unicef, ICC, and UN will obviously want to have nothing to do with a group that is not only proscribed but also proven to be lawless, has no respect for fundamental human rights and apparently has no structure.

According to the International Crisis Group, Biafra does not currently exist as a distinct unit in Nigeria and the separatists are not clear about how they see the territory of the "new Biafra".

Some claim it would include all areas inhabited by people of Ibo descent, including parts of the oil-rich Niger Delta to the south and Benue state to the north, but the other people of these regions vehemently oppose inclusion in any new Biafra.

Other separatists say a restored Biafra would be limited to the five core Ibo states - Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo - administratively referred to as Nigeria's "South East Zone".

No sane politician from the southeast will ever consider standing up for the IPOB, especially as with the treatment meted out to ex deputy senate president who has always stood for the group at different situation and most importantly secured the bail and release of IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, another prove the group ideologies are not clear.

Tribalism obviously has an extremely negative effect on Nigeria’s unity, and in some cases, can even be life-threatening, because some people are ready to do anything to stand for their ideals.

The tribalist experiences of the other countries show us that such division brings nothing but conflicts, fear, nd exclusion.

To become a really strong nation, we have to accept each other with all the differences and try to find the compromises in a peaceful and non-violent way.

Nigerian people show their strongest qualities and learn to get along with each other regardless of their cultural and social differences, Nigeria will become a nation instead of territory.
