Art, Graphics & Video / A Look At The Amazing Nature Pictures Of A Nigerian Photographer That's Unique by AutoReportNG2: 3:00pm On Jul 10, 2019
It's not every time we meet an amazing, creative and determined photographers. Nigeria is a home of talented photographers that are doing so well and are inspiration to the younger ones, photographers like Kelechi Amadi-Obi, TY Bello, Shola Animashaun and a lot of amazing and creative photographers who are trailing the trade and raising the game in terms of talent and getting the latest gadget though this costs a lot to get by the way. A professional Canon camera in Nigeria costs within 850,000 naira to 1.5million naira, this means the trade is not for the lazy and so every bit of shots taken counts.

Photography they say is a game of lights and creativity. For you to excel in this field, you must study the lights and be ready to make a good image out of it. The youths are doing amazing stuff in this regards, if we have to count them, we will be exhausted, they are doing wonderful works so well that even the international media is beginning to take notice of the uniqueness of our folks here.

AutoReportNG was on Twitter recently and we came across a young man named Adeolu. Adeolu is a Nigerian photographer that his editing, angel and lighting seem so unique than the regular we have seen in the past. We tried to go through some of his works and we are blown away. Adeolu caught our attention when he is soliciting for retweets for his works to be showcased on BET Networks but it seems the network is too busy to even notice all the retweets. We got across to him to seek his permission to use some of his images for this post which he gladly did.

One interesting area Deolu seems to focus on is nature, 80% of his works are base on nature- the waters, oceans, sky and lots more, don't let us bore you, you be the judge!

These are some of his works which may interest you.

Politics / Update On Mile2-apapa Road Construction - Exclusive Images by AutoReportNG2: 6:21pm On Jun 19, 2019
Remember on Monday, we broke the news that the Lagos State Government is embarking on a temporary repair of the Mile 2-Apapa Road thereby closing the road to fast track the repairs.

The ongoing palliative work is handled by Hi-tech construction company on the service lane at Sunrise under bridge inward Mile 2 on the Apapa Tin can Island Mile Oshodi expressway

The main carriageway of the expressway has been closed to traffic from outward coconut bus stop to Berger/Mile 2 to allow for palliative work on the service lane to ease outward movement of articulated vehicles while the construction of the main carriage is commencing as well. The palliative work is expected to end by 12 midnight today, this will help to make the road motorable for all road users in this axis.

AutoReportNG got some exclusives on how work is going on this road and this may interest you.

Funny. That is like saying the FG can ban ASUU

Its not as if NURTW won't operate but not in motor parks, no more garage guys taking money etc. NURTW still exists as a body but they are restricted!

Wrong move.

Can the Government ban the NLC or TUC?

It is a union and people will cite freedom of association

I don't think so... The gov is bound under the law to proscibe any agency, if they feel otherwise, they can go to court

Travel / Trucks Back To Ikorodu Road Following Sanwo-Olu's Visit To Apapa - Photos by AutoReportNG2: 11:22am On May 31, 2019
Following the Presidential directive for the evacuation of trucks and trailers from Lagos roads of which a Presidential committee was charged with carrying out the responsibility, the committee gave a 72 hours ultimatum to trucks and trailers operators to be on queue to move into the Apapa ports and leave the bridges and roads which has been converted into vehicle park, creating traffic gridlock and constituting a nuisance to other road users.

Of note is the success recorded with the evacuation of the trucks and trailers from Ikorodu road and Eko bridge at the expiration of the 72 hours ultimatum on Sunday 26th May, 2019. While the committee was about moving to the Apapa Mile 2 axis, the Ikorodu road and Eko bridge suffered a relapse of trailers and trucks reemergence in the last 12 hours as a result of the blockade of the roads into the Apapa port as a security measure for the physical inspection of the Apapa ports area and environs by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat and security chiefs yesterday Thursday 30th May, 2019.

Consequent upon the blockade of the roads by the security agencies for hours which prevented the trucks from accessing the Apapa ports easily like they have been doing in the last 96 hours following the Presidential committee evacuation of impediments to the ports, the resultant effect of that security blockade is the emergence of trailers and trucks back on Ikorodu road from National stadium Surulere all the way to the Costain/Apapa road Ebute Metta axis of the Eko bridge since last night of Thursday 30th May, 2019 as shown in the images attached till this morning of Friday 31st of May, 2019.

The Presidential committee is resolved and working round the clock to ensure that the trucks and trailers are evacuated from the Ikorodu road and Eko bridge where they have suddenly reemerged as well as on the Apapa Mile 2 Oshodi expressway corridor where they have locked down Lagos traffic and constituted public nuisance within the shortest possible time, while calling for the support and cooperation of Lagosians in carrying out the Presidential directive to the latter within the stipulated 2 weeks.

The patience and understanding of the motoring public is highly appreciated in making Lagos roads and bridges free of parked trailers and trucks and the Apapa ports accessible for the ease of doing business.

Politics / See Moment Sanwo-Olu Signs The Order On VIO, LASTMA & LAWMA, Tours Alausa - Pics by AutoReportNG2: 3:32pm On May 30, 2019
This is Lagos and in Lagos, the people, not even the governor sleeps. While some governors are yet to resume for duty in their respective states, some are still basking in the euphoria of being in power but in Lagos, the man in charge has resumed work and he is not joking all...
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today resumes office and immediately signed the first Executive Order on Indiscriminate refuse dumping, traffic management, Public works, and others .. says this is not to arrest anyone but to ensure the State is clean and in order to move the state forward.

The Governor while explaining the First Executive Order on Refuse Dumping, Drainages, Public works, LASTMA officials to work till 11pm on 2 shifts ... etc He also said that the VIO will be back at Lagos roads, this is because the state needs them more and he says VIO should not use this opportunity to start arresting indiscriminately but educate the public more on the what they need to have in their vehicles especially during this rainy season.

These are images from his first day at office...

One obvious thing about the outgoing governor of Lagos State Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode is that he is a lover of sports, especially football. You can't live in Lagos without being a sports person. In fact, one of the cardinal objectives of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration is Project T.H.E.S.E, an acronym which stands for Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment and Sports for Excellence.

Onikan Stadium is a popular stadium in Lagos state, it's a stadium which has played host to series of games across the length and breadth of the nation. The objective of the Lagos State Government is to turn the Onikan axis into world-class entertainment and tourism zone with special focus on sports and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the State.

The Onikan Stadium, located on Lagos Island close to Tafawa Balewa Square, was built in 1930.

The stadium was formerly named King Geroge V before it was renamed Lagos City Stadium.

The stadium was last renovated in the 1980s.

The stadium is famous for being the home ground for top Nigerian clubs such as Stationery Stores FC, First Bank, and Julius Berger and has a sitting capacity of 5,000.

The stadium also played host to the 1999 Youth World Cup, hosted by Nigeria.

The stadium which was meant to have been completed since January 2019 has faced lots of hiccups due to the political tussle the outgoing governor was going through. In March, we reported on the slow pace of work on this edifice as the contractor handling the project, Slavabogu Nigeria Ltd seems lost as to what to do.

When completed, the Onikan Stadium will be able to accommodate spectators of 5000 people and the edifice will accommodate up to 8,000 and 9, 000.

AutoReportNG was in Onikan over the weekend and so far, the level of work on this edifice is encouraging. Please note that outsiders are allowed access to the site, we don't know why its a problem taking pictures of Lagos State Govt but we always have our way, we strive to go the extra length and we got some images from those working there who are kind enough to send us some images.

So far, the roofings have been fixed, the tiling is ongoing, the seats are being laid as we speak and many other things being done simultaneously.

Politics / FG Hands Over Ibadan Inland Dry Port To Oyo State Government (Photos) by AutoReportNG2: 10:19pm On May 22, 2019
Just as Kaduna dry inland port, the city of Ibadan is yet to get its own Ibadan Inland Dry Port as the federal government officially did the handover ceremony to the Oyo State Government. Those in attendance are the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Moses Alake Adeyemo, The Executive Governor of Oyo State. Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, Honorable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Executive Secretary/CEO Nigeria Shippers Council, Hassan Bello during the Handover Ceremony of the Ibadan Inland Dry port (IIDP) Exchange of Letters at Oyo State Governor’s office, Ibadan on Tuesday 21st May 2019.

The Oyo State Government and the Federal Government have fine-tuned agreement on the proposed $99,665,626 (N35.9bn) Ibadan Inland Dry Port, which is expected to ease the pressure on the Apapa Seaport and the perennial gridlock on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.

The agreement was signed by the Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi on behalf of the state, while the Transport Minister, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, signed on behalf of the FG at a brief ceremony, at the governor’s office, Ibadan, on Tuesday.

The minister was in company with the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Shippers Council, Mr Hassan Bello; with the team later embarking on an inspection tour of the light rail project site, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In his remarks, Bello said that the project would gulp $99,665,626 (N35.9bn), and would have equipment parking, trucks parking, among other facilities, while it would occupy 90 hectares of land, which the state government already provided.

Also speaking at the event, the minister forewarned the state to be prepared to inherit the traffic congestion that characterizes the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, the gateway to the Apapa seaport, when the Lagos-Ibadan corridor of the light rail project is completed.

The minister explained that transportation of containers and commercial goods through the Ibadan rail to the proposed inland dry port would be expected to ease the perennial gridlock on the Apapa end of the expressway.

He said that this will lessen the burden on the Apapa Seaport, which is currently the largest and busiest seaport in the country, housing several ports and terminals.

To guard against possible traffic congestion, as currently being experienced in Apapa, Amaechi advised the state’s incoming administration to open up the adjoining roads around the proposed Dry Port.

The minister expressed appreciation to the governor for making the dream of Ibadan Inland Dry Port a reality by providing the land and facilitating necessary logistics for the project.

Amaechi used the opportunity to commend what he called the governor’s visible impact on the landscape and governance of Oyo State, which he said his sworn critics never failed to acknowledge.

The minister said, "You are concluding your second term on a very strong note of performance and unequal pacesetting. Not all governors finished this way.

"Most of your detractors even acknowledged the fact that you have done so much in infrastructural facilities and other areas where you have touched lives.

"History will judge you well. For me, I don't think of what people talk about me. I only care about how I do what I do. You have journeyed well and I congratulate you and your family for your success.

"Let me quickly add that the Lagos-Ibadan light rail project would, on completion, ease the Apapa Lagos expressway gridlock and my fear is whether Oyo State is ready for the shift of the gridlock to this axis of Ibadan.

"Containers and imported goods will now be transported to Ibadan and the rest of the country through the light rail and this will aggravate commercial activities at the Inland Dry Port end until there is continuation of the rail project towards the Ibadan-Kano corridor.

"So I will advise that the incumbent and the incoming governor to work together and open up roads around the Ibadan Inland Dry Port to avert a transfer of the stress of Apapa expressway to Ibadan."

While responding, Ajimobi assured that instead of experiencing traffic gridlock, Ibadan would rather experience a gridlock of progress and immense growth of commerce.

The governor assured that the dry port would improve economic growth, job opportunities and improve the standard of living of the state in general.

He praised the efforts of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government in building a better Nigeria, part of which he said was the construction of the light rail to ease transportation of goods and passengers across the nation.

The federal government is doing all within its power to decentralize the port at Apapa and so the best option is having a port in each state across the federation. The Kaduna Inland Dry Port was commission early May and it has started operation immediately.

Tinubu go soon become danfo driver while ambode go be his conductor. The way Lagos state politicians carry taxi and molue work for head ehn!See air-conditioned inside passengers park.
I give those buses 5 months them go be like molue.

Can't we profess good things for once to ourselves in this country? Must we always a negative mindset about government property and infrastructure? The TBS terminus is more than 2yrs now and so far, its well maintained with all its facilities still working, its not based in London or Dubai, it is in Lagos, if they can maintain TBS, I believe they can do same here too... Let's give them benefit of doubt and lets be being a prophet of doom, If you are the owner of this building, will you pray to collapse in 5 months?

Health / The New Ayinke House, Lagos Buhari Will Commission (Photos) by AutoReportNG2: 1:33pm On Apr 23, 2019
Ayinke House to many living in Lagos is known as a baby factory. Just as Lagos Island Maternity center is to Lagos, such is Ayinke House to many Nigerians. But of what use is an edifice if it's lacking its basic medical facilities?

The Lagos State Government embarked on total reconstruction and remodeling of this house to make it a world-class facility. In a statement by the commissioner of health, he said, “The facility is a sight to behold. You can only compare facility here with what you can see in the developed world. There is no private hospital in Lagos can match it. It is totally out of this world. Women in Lagos are very in for a fantastic time.“The government has been gracious, they have recruited personnel to populate this edifice and after commissioning they are going full blast,” he added.

AutoReportNG was able to get an exclusive image of the new hospital and how the inside looks like for you.
