BRIEF INTRO= The trip to Germany is funded by the company I work for abroad ( so my kind of work is not an official employment but more so like a contract of service and I work distantly because the company is based overseas)

2) How long is the conference visa valid for , is it only for valid for the days of the conference? Or they give 3 months?

3) lastly what category of visa am I supposed to apply for ( forgive me for asking but the website isn’t really self explanatory in the country I’m based) ?

You need the following doc
1 International passport
passport photograph
Invitation letter
Health insurance certificate
itinerary (flight reservation showing when you plan to arrive and leave)
Accommodation reservation
bank statement (try nd have enough money here)
any other document to prove authenticity of invitation

It depends on each school. But generally, it's Academic staff that is on strike, not non-academic staff, so check with your school if they have officers working in that department.

Non academic staff have been on strike too since April.

Are you sure of this figure 1100 pounds for Visa and IHS fee..you know visa and IHS in pounds is 1068 ( 363 for Visa and 705 for IHS) for a year Master's programme.

For those who are yet to pay for Visa and IHS fee. I would advise you pay with Euros now. It is very much cheaper to pay with Euro on UKVI website than using dollars. I have paid twice with euro now and i have paid more than 740k naira in black market conversion compare to over 800k that you will spent if you use dollar.

If you still have up to two weeks to pay you can open Euro account with first bank and request for multicurrency card.
