A British man scammed of £20,000 after sending money to a fake African girlfriend he met online, actually believed he was going to meet with the love of his life at the airport in his home country..

Simon Frost, 75, could not believe his luck when he was matched with Eva – a young beauty who spoke of setting up home with him.

But the woman in the pictures was really US porn star Briana Lee, 28, whose photo has been lifted repeatedly by cheats for this very purpose.

Grandad Simon turned to internet dating after his wife of 10 years left him.

He joined a website called Real Sex Contacts in February 2017 and two months later was introduced to Eva, supposedly a hospital worker from Ghanaian capital Accra.

She sent a picture, Simon fell in love and he was persuaded to part with more than £19,000.

In an exchange of messages she even teased out information about his bank cards.

But when the time came for them to meet in the UK in August this year, Eva didn’t show up and he has not heard from her since.

Simon, from Soham, Cambs, said he was speaking out to stop others falling for the same scam.

He said: “I genuinely believed the relationship was real. I don’t understand why anyone would treat me like that. I had good intentions and was looking for a genuine relationship.“It has put me off trying anything like this ever again. “I would rather be lonely than go through all of this trauma.”

Simon said he and Eva had called each other “babe” and “husband” and talked of buying a house for a new life together. But she was spinning a web of lies to get him to part with his dosh.

She said she needed cash to get court documents so that she could access her father’s £5million inheritance which included a stash of gold.

Simon sent £6,000 savings, £3,000 on credit cards and two £5,000 advances from payday loan company Amigo.

He also paid £1,600 for Eva’s flight to the UK in August this year – when he expected her to repay him.

But Eva failed to turn up and when he was unable to contact her it became clear he had been scammed.

A Dallas woman who was on life support after receiving a cheap nose job in a Mexico hospital in October died on Saturday, her family said.

Laura Avila, originally from El Paso but now living in Dallas, went to “Rhinocenter” surgery center in Cuidad Juarez on Oct. 30 to have work done on her nose, according to the family’s GoFundMe.

She never woke up.

“Without knowledge to her fiancé, Laura suffered a cardiac arrest for four minutes,” the GoFundMe said. “She was then placed into a medically induced coma to prevent further damage to her brain that was caused by the complications she experienced during anesthesia.”

On Saturday, her sister, Angie Avila, said her sister died at 8:30 Saturday morning after being in a coma for nearly a month.

“My heart aches, and I truly don’t know how or if I’ll ever overcome this pain,” Angie Avila wrote in a Facebook post.

After receiving the botched surgery in October, Laura Avila spent six days in an Intensive Care Unit in Mexico before being transferred to a hospital in El Paso. She was having seizures due to brain damage.

Only after Avila’s family paid the hospital bill in full in Mexico did her doctors grant her transfer to a hospital in El Paso, her family said on GoFundMe. They hired lawyers in Juarez to get Laura’s full medical records.

The family’s fundraiser for Avila had raised about $80,000 of its $150,000 goal as of Saturday afternoon. The family said $25,000 in medical costs was incurred in Juarez and the entire family has missed work for weeks to be with Avila.

Boko Haram gunmen have kidnapped 15 girls overnight in a village near Toumour, southeastern Niger, the local mayor said on Saturday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Boukar Mani Orthe, the mayor of the town in Niger’s Diffa region near the border with Nigeria, said about 50 unidentified armed men seized the girls in a village about nine kilometres from the town centre.

Kidnapping of schoolgirls has been a Boko Haram horror mark, since its fighters in 2014 kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State, in Nigeria.

It also staged this year, another major kidnap of schoolgirls in Dapchi, Yobe state.

In Mali, French forces said they “put out of action” some 30 Islamist militants, possibly including veteran Malian jihadist leader Amadou Koufa, during a raid in the central Mali region of Mopti.

The French army, which has about 4,500 troops in West Africa battling Islamist militants, did not specify whether the jihadists had all been killed or taken prisoner. The operation took place with air support on Thursday night, it said.

“At this stage of the evaluation of the operation, it appears that about 30 terrorists were put out of action,” the army said in its statement on Friday, adding that Koufa and other prominent militants were probably among them.

Koufa, a radical preacher, inspired the Massina Liberation Front (MLF), a group blamed for a wave of attacks that has shifted Mali’s six-year-old Islamist insurgency from the remote desert north ever closer to its populous south.

Three doctors will face a criminal trial in Belgium accused of failing to comply with the legal conditions for euthanasia, the first such case since it was decriminalised in 2002.

“This is the first time that there has been a decision to refer such a case to a court of law,” lawyer Jacqueline Herremans told AFP on Friday, confirming information from Belgian media.

“There have already been legal cases involving doctors, but they have always resulted in dismissals before going to court,” added Herremans, who chairs the Belgian Association for the Right to Die with Dignity.

The case follows the announcement that Dutch authorities are prosecuting a doctor for euthanising an elderly woman with dementia in the first case of its kind in neighbouring the Netherlands.

Belgium and the Netherlands became the first countries in the world to legalise so-called mercy killing, but it can only be carried out by doctors and under very strict conditions.

The decision in Belgium, taken on Thursday by the Court of Appeal in Ghent, stems from a civil action brought by a sister of an autistic woman, Tine Nys, who was euthanised in 2010 at the age of 38.

The sister accused the doctors of not having properly prepared the case and of taking a rushed decision when the woman had not been treated for mental issues for years.

The diagnosis of autism had only been made two months before her death, according to the Belgian media.

In Belgium, euthanasia has been allowed since 2002 for patients suffering from an incurable disease who have made their request “voluntarily, thoughtfully and repeatedly”.

This right for adults was extended in 2014 to minors, within an equally strict legal framework.

A student of the Niger Delta University, Seiyefa Fred, was killed last night by some robbers who were trying to snatch her phone.

Seiyefa had stepped out at Amaranta, Yenegoa, Bayelsa State, to buy Suya for her mother, only to be attacked by the robbers.

While returning from where she bought the suya, she was accosted inside their compound and shot dead while struggling with the robbers, who thereafter left with her phone.

Reporting the sad news of her death, Jacob Amasoye wrote on Facebook;

This morning, Dolapo Badmos, the Zone 2 PPRO said the police officer has been identified and arrested by the Commissioner Of Police, Lagos state Command as directed by the Inspector General Of Police

She added that, 'he is currently facing a disciplinary panel set up to investigate and try his conduct, the outcome will be made public in no distant time'.

“However an older man, generally – he was this, he once played rugby, he was a top football player. He had all those dreams and I love those dreams but he had them already.

“A young man is fired up about what the future holds and I can keep that fire burning.”

John who has only dated older women says he finds them more “sensual”.

He said:

I’ve been asked and playfully ridiculed by people who have known me for a long time. Why do I date older women? I like confidence in a woman, I like self-awareness and with the older women, I’ve dated there’s always been a more sensual, more compassionate side.

“They are very receptive to the kind of lover I am.”

The son of Gov. Al-makura of Nasarawa State is on it again, as he knocked down about six persons with a car in Mararaba Ankunza area of Lafia, Tribune reports.

Khalid, who is said to be a habitual hit and run driver, was said to be coming from a club in Lancika hotel. .

As a result of over speeding, he crashed into six persons which led to the amputation of the legs and hands of three of the victims, who are all receiving treatment in Chida Crescent Hospital, Abuja. .

The traditional chief of the area, Ibrahim Mohammed, who confirmed the accident, said there was no record of death. .

“Some youths wanted to kill Khalid, but I insisted and asked the vigilante guards to take him away, which they did before they later hand him over to the Police,” he added.

TribuneOnline gathered that before the latest accident, Khalid’s recklessness had led to the death of about four victims in the last three years on different occasions. .
