Crime › Teacher Remanded In Prison For Raping 5-year-old Pupil by axcerin(op): 10:18am On Dec 06, 2018 |
GISTMORE.COMA magistrates’ court sitting in Okitipupa, in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, has ordered that a teacher, Ebenezer Adeyeye, be remanded in prison custody. Adeyeye, a primary school teacher, was accused of defiling a five-year-old pupil inside the school’s toilet in Okitipupa. He was arrested by the men of the Ondo State Police Command on November 7, 2018. The accused was said to have lured the victim to the school toilet, where he allegedly had a carnal knowledge of her. He was arraigned on one count of rape. According to the police prosecutor, Mr Ayodeji Omoyegha, the case was reported at the police station by the victim’s parents and the suspect was later arrested. Omoyegha said the offence contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006. Adeyeye, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. In his ruling, the magistrate, Mr O. Ogunfuyi, ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody pending the outcome of the legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. He adjourned the case till January 30, 2019. News source - http://gistmore.com/teacher-remanded-in-prison-for-raping-5-year-old-pupil

Lady left shocked after she bought new jumpsuit online and it was delivered with 'discharge' on the crotch of the dress.A lady was left horrified after discovering 'discharge' in the crotch of a new jumpsuit she said she bought from PrettyLittleThing.
Emily Coventry, from Harlow, Essex, claimed she discovered the 'dried' white substance after she tried the dress on Tuesday 27 November.
The horrified lady angrily took to Twitter to call out the UK-based fashion retailer, and accused them of 'complete lack of care.'
Emily's tweet, which has since been deleted, read: 'I received a parcel yesterday from @OfficialPLT and there is DISCHARGE on the inside of the crotch area.
'Literally feel sick, so unhygienic and a complete lack of care!! How can this actually be sent to someone without being checked?'
Emily added: 'I don't know what actually made me think to look before I put it back in the packaging. I remember thinking "what is that?" It was discharge in the crotch, it was just horrible.'
PrettyLittleThing has also issued an apologized stating the garment's condition was 'completely unacceptable' and that a full investigation is being conducted to ensure it doesn't happen again. The Ondo State Police Command on Tuesday said it had arrested six people, who were allegedly involved in various kidnap cases in parts of the state.
According to the police, among the suspects are three siblings.
They are Joy Raymond, Peace Raymond and Ayomide Raymond.
The other suspects arrested by the police are Yafara Adamu, Sunday Kehinde and Oluwayomi Akinseye.
Speaking on the arrests, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, said the suspects were involved in kidnap incidents in the state and had been collecting ransom from the families of their victims.
He said the siblings and Akinseye allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old girl at Oba Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of the state on November 21, 2018, and released the victim after a N700,000 ransom was paid.
Joseph stated, “Shortly after the payment of the ransom, a team of anti-kidnapping officers, led by the officer in charge, stormed the venue where the ransom was paid. The suspects were all rounded up and the ransom, which had already been buried in an uncompleted building, was exhumed as an exhibit.
“The suspects confessed to committing the crime. They will be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigation.” NEWS VIA GISTMORE >>> http://gistmore.com/siblings-others-arrested-for-kidnapping-photo

Crime › Two Human Traffickers Jailed 12 Years For Promoting Prostitution by axcerin(op): 2:49am On Nov 28, 2018 |
Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced two human traffickers to 12 years imprisonment for promoting prostitution.
The female convicts, Terry Homuere-Smooth and Priscilla Effiong, were sentenced after the court found them guilty of the two counts preferred against them by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.
The prosecutor, Sebol Langyi, had told the court when the convicts were arraigned in November 2015 that they organised and promoted foreign prostitution, adding that they exported one Chisom, aka Gold, to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates for prostitution.
The offences, according to Langyi, are contrary to and punishable under sections 14 (b) and 18 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.
Chisom had during the trial told the court that the convicts, after taking her to Dubai, forced her into prostitution, took her nude pictures and asked her to swear to an oath that she would pay some amount to their agents in Dubai otherwise; they would post her nude pictures online.
She added that when she could not raise the money they asked for, the convicts posted her nude pictures online as they had threatened.
The victim stated that it was when the pictures went viral that the NAPTIP intervened and the two convicts were arrested.
Delivering her judgment on Tuesday, Justice Oguntoyinbo held that the prosecution had been able to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt against the defendants and she consequently pronounced them guilty.
Mrs James Ezeomakorie and Mrs Doyin Rhode-Vivours, counsel for Homuere-Smooth and Effiong, respectively, in their allocutus, urged the court to temper justice with mercy, adding that they were first time offenders, who had showed great remorse during their detention.
Sentencing the convicts, Justice Oguntoyinbo said, “I have listened to the allocutus made by the counsels for the defendants. However, the minimum punishment for count one is seven years imprisonment with a fine of N1m, while the minimum punishment for the second count is five years.
“In the light of the above, I hereby sentence the first and second defendants to seven years imprisonment on count one with N1m fine, and five years on count two.
“The terms of the sentence are to run concurrently and without an option of fine.”
The charges the convicts were arraigned on read in part, “That you, Terry Homuere-Smooth and Priscilla Bassey Effiong, one Bella (at large) and one Gloria (at large) on or about July 2015 at Ajah, Lagos, within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court, organised and facilitated foreign travel, which promotes prostitution for Chisom (aka Gold) to Dubai, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 18 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015, and punishable under the same section of the Act.” NEWS BY GISTMORE.COM >>> http://gistmore.com/two-human-traffickers-jailed-12-years-for-promoting-prostitutionLalasticlala mynd44
