Somalis are a minority and like i told you earlier they would be completely destroyed due to the hate the other Kenyans coz of the attack. The north eastern part is a desert that can't support plant life, most of the food comes from the bantus and the Nilotes in Rift valley. So if there was war your people would be starved since all their food comes from the bantus, who control virtually everything in Kenya, trade, politics, military, police. Even the teachers who teach in that region are bantus, if there was a war against them there would be no Somali trace left in Kenya, the rwandan genocide would be child's play and it would be done secretely, i'm sure you know of the Wagalla and garissa massacres, and of said barre's defeat, kenyans are growing increasingly intolerant of your people.

You can't argue about political influence. Unless you want to go in the past but today there is no match. Kenyans, the Bantus that your people despise and look down upon so much, are the ones helping Somalia get back on its feet. Now that is a noble thing to do. But I think Kenya should not have let herself drawn into that madness. Even the US withdrew from it. Now they have to spent resources on security instead of economy. A big waste for them.
PS: reminiscing on all glory is a hell of thing. It consumes you. Part of it feeds the current problem we have in west Africa with people wanting to bring back Islamic states. But hey, what do you I know. Somalis are what they are, they will never change.
