The world's understanding of marriage today is very scary. If people go into a union with the intent that there'd be trouble, then it doesn't make sense at all, not in any way.
IT DOES NOT DEPEND ON AGREEMENT. By default, what a man owns belongs to his immediate family (wife and kids) and by default the same should apply to women. The idea of family members will always be secondary.
If a man solely buys a property in his name just because IT IS HIS MONEY, then there's a problem already because the world will ask questions when his wife does same.
Bulk of these problems which shouldn't be a big deal is as a result of lack of proper or no counseling. Marriage, today, is no longer an institution but a contract where both parties just while away time, waiting for the day issues would come and one or both will bail. Well said IMO. Marriage nowadays is like a contract. It's sad. |

Well... It depends on the agreement between us. If he buys a property first and choose to put his name only, when I buy mine, it will definitely have my name ONLY.
But if I'm included as a co-owner, of course we can co-own mine too.
In a situation where I get a property before him, i will add his name to all papers and if he can't do the same when he buys his, then I might not wait for the next hour to remove his name from documents of my property. Since we both wants to be petty.
But really, regardless of whose money is/was used in buying a property, once we are married all funds/properties belongs to US.
And i won't understand why most ladies(both married and single) do lie to their spouse to collect money. I mean if your spouse go bankruptcy you will suffer the loss together and if there is boom you will enjoy it together. So why do you have to lie? I think you're right. Just that it doesn't have to be on agreement. Marriage itself is an agreement, ordinarily. It could just be spontaneous, i.e. whatever 'foundation' the first 'buyer' lays, can determine the next course of action. But again, what if either party didn't do deliberately but out of ignorance  |

I saw a tweet (on twitter) from a certain Ronald Nzimora and later supported by his friend, Hon. Akin Alabi as regards the above subject (as attached).
Thus, I'm compelled to ask if it's actually right for a WIFE to own properties in HER name.
1. What if the wife is richer and kept everything in her name. Don't you feel the husband will feel 'detached' and maybe unhappy?
2. What if the husband is richer and kept all the properties in his name. Don't you feel the wife will feel 'detached' and maybe unhappy?
PS. My wife and I work, and are financially independent of each other. She's been supportive
though and we buy properties in our names, e.g. Mr Kenneth Cole and Mrs Grace Cole. This is rational and not abnormal.

But I think people should not start studying just any course with the believe that what one studied in school doesn't matter.
There's no joy in spending time and money in the university studying a course that would not prepare one for a career only to graduate and start looking for where to perch.
It is better (in my opinion) to delve into learning that skill or trade post secondary school, master it and establish one's self before going to the university ie if one must have university education. Secondary school education is just enough requirement for one to learn ICT skills! Why waste 5yrs of one's life on something that could be done with sec school education? You'll agree with me that not every master will be willing to tutor people who're above sec school age in a skill or trade! More so, people who have been exposed to university life.
Let's stop wasting precious time and hit off after secondary school! There's no evidence whatsoever to justify the believe by some people that going to university will add any value to how people would perform in trades or skills, especially with the way some courses are taught in most Nigerian universities! You're right though |

Even law is overrated, after the huge amount spent on law school only few percent end up practising. Everything isn't dependent on the course you read sometimes. I also read Microbiology and was wondering wtf to do with the certificate after graduation. Now I can tell you that what some organisations need is just your B.Sc or equivalent. The course studied can be immaterial. |

.Thanks for your honest inputs. I think it depends on the severity of the asthma. My wife is asthmatic and we've been married for 5 yrs now. Other than, one or two attacks in a year, we're very fine. For her, the attacks happen mostly during rainy season. She doesn't use inhaler but drugs and injection (during its peak) She can get anything on a normal day and will also run away from fries as soon as she feels prone to the attack. PS. I have given her all my supports because she was open to me before we got married. Thankfully, she can manage it to an extent. I got to know someone that had asthma during my secondary school days. It was crazy! |

If you're paying in a month, you pay 1.75%, 2 months is 1.75x2 and because you are paying in 12 months, it is 1.75x12 and thus gives you the 21% you mentioned. |
