Car TalkSaudi Women Celebrate News They Will Finally Be Allowed To Drive by AYLiveSHows(op): 6:16pm On Sep 27, 2017
Women in Saudi Arabia have been celebrating the news that they will finally be able to drive, a landmark step that brings the conservative kingdom in line with the rest of the world and will allow many more women to work.

The Saudi Foreign ministry announced Tuesday that a royal decree has been issued that will allow women to drive by next June.
"This is a historic big day in our kingdom," Prince Khaled bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the US, said Tuesday in a briefing with reporters.
The move follows years of activism and appeals both from within and outside the Gulf nation.

A Saudi woman walks near car down a street in the Saudi capital Riyadh on September 27, 2017.
Kholoud Attar, a 32-year-old Saudi designer and magazine owner who has been running her business for 10 years, told CNN the change would make a "huge difference" both to her and to her female employees.
"Being able to drive really facilitates a lot of logistics and helps with shaving off the time to get things done," she said. "It's so thrilling to be able to do this."
For her female workers, the biggest gain will be in not having to pay for a driver or other transportation out of their salaries, Attar said. Employing a driver currently eats up a third of the average monthly salary for her staff members, who may also have to find the money for their children's care or education, she said.
As for those who remain opposed to women driving, Attar said, their voices "just became much quieter" thanks to the government saying it would be allowed.

CelebritiesWho Killed Miss Vera Udechukwu? (graphic Photos) by AYLiveSHows(op): 5:27pm On Sep 27, 2017
Facebook user Onyebuchi Ememanka is asking the who killed VERA UDECHUKWU.

Post Read;

In the interest of justice and public safety, I am compelled to make this sad story public. I simply could not stomach it.

The story was brought to my attention by a friend and I am convinced that the public should know about it and be on guard.

Miss Vera Udechukwu is, sorry, was an indigene of Oba in Anambra State. She was 24 years old.
She met and fell in love with a young man called Jerry Ugochukwu Ohale, an indigene of Urualla, Ideato in Imo State. The guy is based in Ghana. They decided to get married.

Late August this year, they did their traditional wedding at Oba and the girl joined the husband in Ghana immediately after and they started planning their white wedding.

Then tragedy struck!

Barely two weeks after the traditional wedding, precisely on the 10th of September 2017, Vera was murdered in cold blood. The Ghana Police authorities discovered her body and managed to establish contact with her family in Nigeria. The family was contacted the next day, September 11, 2017.

The intriguing part is that the husband, Jerry, is nowhere to be seen. The Police in Ghana has since launched a manhunt for him. They suspect he has fled Ghana and returned to Nigeria.

Preliminary investigations by the Ghana Police show that the girl was brutally tortured to death. She was killed in the most gruesome circumstances.

Many questions arise.

Who killed this young lady?

Could it be her husband?

Why is the guy on the run?

Why has he disappeared?

Meanwhile, the girl's family is naturally distraught. They don't understand how their daughter whom they barely gave out in marriage barely few weeks ago is now dead.

As we speak, the family is battling to retrieve the corpse of their daughter from the Police in Ghana and send the body home to Nigeria for burial.

Sadly, the girl's family is not even sure of what their in-law does for a living. Their daughter simply told them that he is an international businessman.

Please share this post. Let it go viral. Let the world hear this story. Let's put the murderer under pressure.

The family has requested that any person who sees the guy anywhere should immediately contact the Police.

Meanwhile, my apologies for the gory pictures. I just couldn't help it.

May God bring justice to the murderer of this young girl whose only offence was to agree to marry someone who lives "abroad".

Finally, dear young lady...you...yes, you. That guy who lives abroad that you lose sleep over...yes, that one you call everyday...sends you money...do you know him well? What does he do for a living?

This is a public service announcement.

PoliticsB'haram Don't Control Any LGA In Borno State, N'army Reply Buba Galadima by AYLiveSHows(op): 9:37am On Sep 23, 2017
https://www.facebook.com/usmanusk/posts/10159355256640026

The attention of the Heaquarters Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole has been drawn to a publication in The Guardian newspaper of 21 September 2017 where one Buba Galadima in an interview claimed that ‘Seven Local Governments of Borno State were still under control of Boko Haram terrorists’; even though he failed to furnish members of the public with the names of those Local Government Areas.

Obviously, this sweeping statement is not only an attempt to propagate falsehood but a futile effort to disinform members of the public on the true security situation in the north east from a perspective of one who is evidently detached from the realities of the counter terrorism cum counter insurgency operations in the north east.

It is very crucial to set the record straight by making it crystal clear that contrary to his opinions, the Boko Haram Terrorists group does not hold or control any Local Government Area in Borno state or in the north east as claimed in the interview.

These Local Government Areas have been liberated by troops of operation Lafiya Dole and the troops have continued to ensure security in these areas after routing out the insurgents. As a matter of fact, locals have been encouraged to return to their communities to resume their vocations and normal life.

It may perhaps be needful to refresh memories by recalling that prior to the inauguration of Operations Lafiya Dole, the entire north east was infested with Boko Haram Terrorists, who became emboldened to the extent of declaring a caliphate with headquarters in Gwoza town. All that became history as the gallant troops of Operation Lafiya Dole came into the theatre, gradually but steadily decimating the insurgents and liberating held territories in a series of well-planned and coordinated joint ground and air operations. One of such major operations was the Operation RESCUE FINALE, which routed the insurgents out of its tactical headquarters in Camp Zeiro in Sambisa forest and out of its so called spiritual headquarters in Alargarno.

Ever since, Operation Lafiya Dole has continued to relentlessly conduct several other operations such as Operation DEEP PUNCH, CHIKIN GUDU Operation and Operation RAWAN KADA alongside the Multinational Joint Task Force. These and many other operations have culminated in the degradation and incapacitation of the insurgent group. Apparently, this is the reason, the terrorist group is striving to remain relevant by resorting to callously use women and children to carry out suicide bomb attacks on soft and vulnerable targets.

Currently, Operation Lafiya Dole in its resoluteness, is carrying out precursor operations that will lead to a final assault to decisively and finally put an end to the insurgency in the north east.

Talking about logistical supplies, Operation Lafiya Dole regularly provides logistical support and replenishment to own troops deployed in all locations and Forward Operational Bases through the normal channels, using our main supply routes. Morealso, Theatre and formation Commanders routinely conduct working visits to troops in their formations and units within the theatre of operation. Hence, the question of troops been inaccessible as portrayed in the said article, is an irredeemable fallacy. Perhaps it is necessary to note that considering the vastness of the north east, Operation Lafiya Dole, aside holding tactical defensive positions to block the insurgents from access to logistics, has also gone ahead to insert Mobile Strike Teams in the theatre of operations to effectively patrol localities as well as seek out and neutralize the insurgents from their hideouts.

Suffice to mention that in the month of August alone, a total of 82 Boko Haram insurgents have been killed in combat and 630 remote settlements were cleared by own troops. Our troops are tirelessly on the trail of the fleeing insurgents as devastating coordinated aerial and artillery bombardments are being unleashed on the terrorist group. Our troops are therefore not waiting only to repel BHT attacks as erroneously painted in the article, but are rather tactically deployed to deny the adversary freedom of action and access to logistics.
Needless to add, that a group of insurgents on the run cannot hold or control any territory. Boko Haram lacks the capability to hold any territory in the north east, hence its mindless attack on innocent and vulnerable civilians with suicide bombings, most of which were made unsuccessful by our vigilant troops.

While not attempting to dismiss the fact that as the fleeing faceless insurgents rummage for logistical replenishment, they occasionally mix up with unsuspecting locals and thereafter attack them. This definitely cannot be described as holding territory, rather, it only simply underscores the need for other relevant agencies to do more to ensure progressive reintegration of the locals into their various communities.

Without sounding immodest, it is worthy to note that the counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations of Operation Lafiya Dole in the north east, has been commended within Nigeria and in the international community, resulting in several high level official visits to the north east by national and international bodies.

While assuring that our focus in Operation Lafiya Dole remains clear and will not be derailed, the general public is urged not be misguided by the insinuations and disinformation contained in the said article as they are devoid of the true and realistic impressions of the security situation in the north east.

A popular South African model and music video dancer identified as Nonhlanhla Mazibuko of Moroka, Soweto has spent a week in hospital after her skull was almost prised open by her DJ boyfriend.

The woman now lives in fear after her boyfriend was granted bail two days. Mazibuko alleged that her boyfriend bashed her with a cricket bat. Sowetan Live reported that Mazibuko, 25, who features in the video of the song In The Mood by Preddy Ugly featuring Saudi, said her 29-year-old boyfriend assaulted her after accusing her of seeing other men.

She said the incident happened after she bought a new cellphone and had a weave. She said her boyfriend had complained about her work as a model and wanted her to stop.

"His biggest problem was that I kept working against his will. He kept telling me to leave modelling. He used to beat me up when I came from work but I thought he would stop.

"On the night he beat me up, he went through my phone and found chats between my cousin and I about a gig I was going to attend. He was also angry that I bought a new phone and had a new weave. He said I got the items from other men."

CrimeMother Catches Her Nanny On Camera Assaulting Her Little Baby (video) by AYLiveSHows(op): 11:44am On Sep 20, 2017
Annemarie Theron, a Namibian woman, has been left totally distraught after she caught her child’s nanny treating the child like a rag doll.

According to a report by Network24, the nanny is now facing charges of child abuse, assault, and attempted murder after Theron reported her to the authorities with the video evidence.

The mother saw her nine-month-old daughter, Laila, being manhandled by her nanny in the secretly filmed footage.

“It was very emotional watching it. I refused to sleep, eat or drink for a couple of days afterwards. It’s difficult to imagine how long this has been going on. I can see Laila is so, so broken after everything,” Theron told Network24.

Theron said she noticed bruises on Laila’s neck and shoulders and suspected all was not well.

“After that I sat at work, thinking about my daughter the entire day. That’s when I decided to install cameras so that I could see what was happening when I’m not at home.”

She was shocked after watching the footage, and immediately laid a charge at the police station.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxbpownmTI

“It was quite a process, as I had to confirm with a mediator what it would mean if I made the recordings without her (the nanny’s) knowledge. The police were initially hesitant about the charges, but wanted to arrest the woman immediately after seeing the footage.”

The woman appeared in court on Monday. The state added the charge of attempted murder.

A police spokesperson confirmed Namibian police are aware of the incident, but would not speak to foreign media. Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, Namibia’s head police spokesperson, wasn’t available for comment.

“I don’t want her near my child ever again, or to pose a threat to other children. What happened was horrible to witness. I realised Laila has nightmares,” said Theron.

Laila is currently attending a kindergarten during the day. She doesn’t believe all nannies are bad and says she may consider employing a nanny in the future.
Theron says support flooded in after she posted the video footage to social media.

“It was comforting to see how many people supported us. Thanks to everyone, family, friends, and strangers, it means a great deal.”

PoliticsNow That The Recession Is Over, What Next? by AYLiveSHows(op): 8:02am On Sep 19, 2017
Last Tuesday, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) gave a lot of Nigerians the news they desperately wished to hear: Nigeria is out of recession. After five consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth that started in Q1 2016, Nigeria’s economy grew by 0.55 per cent in Q2 2017. Predictably, data once again became the hero and villain in a long-running social media battle of bias between the supporters of Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, and his critics. The optics of sneaking out of a 15-month recession apart, a 0.55 per cent year-on-year GDP growth is hardly anything to cheer for Africa’s biggest economy. But as the NBS data reveals, the Q2 2017 growth is an improvement, even if marginal, on the GDP performance recorded in the preceding quarter (-0.91 per cent) and the corresponding quarter of 2016 (-1.49 per cent). Beyond the numbers, however, questions persist about the long-term economic recovery prospects of the nation. Questions that demand that all post-recession celebrations be suspended until further notice.

Twenty-seven months into the Buhari administration, the patience of the Nigerian masses on the state of the economy and general standard of living is wearing thin, and understandably so. Inflation rate dropped for the fifth consecutive month in July, but the prices of goods and consumables which skyrocketed during the recession remain exorbitantly high. In reality, the recession persists for the economically dis-advantaged demographic of Nigeria’s 170 million population. Nigeria’s path out of recession is lined with commendable efforts in improving the ease of doing business through the Presidential Enabling Business Council (PEBEC). Chaired by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. the Council implemented a 60-day National Action Plan on Ease of Doing Business and was able to tackle some of the critical bottlenecks and bureaucratic constraints that had hitherto defined the ordeal of doing business in Nigeria.

Osinbajo, who assumed the role of Acting President while President Buhari was away in the United Kingdom on medical leave, issued executive orders on port operations heralding a much-needed improvement in the operational efficiency of the nation’s airports and seaports. He also signed two critical bills on improving access to credit, a major stumbling block for businesses in Nigeria. As the NBS data released yesterday show, Nigeria came out of recession the same quarter the implementation of these reforms started. The recession has also proved pivotal to Nigeria’s drive for revenue diversification and a rebalancing of the economy’s over-reliance on the oil sector. The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for example recently revealed it generated N2.11 trillion as revenue in the first six months of 2017 and is on course to meet the N4.94 trillion revenue projection for the year. Similarly, the Nigerian Customs Service generated N486 billion as revenue in the first half of the year, surpassing the N385 billion generated for the same period in 2016.

On the part of the Nigerian Ports Authority, reforms like the implementation of a Revenue and Invoice Management System has gone a long way in blocking revenue leakages and improving ports operations through the exclusion of unnecessary human interface in doing business at the ports. As a result of this and other reforms, the agency was able to surpass the N16 billion revenue projection for the first quarter of 2017, raking in N118 billion. Progressive reforms in the monetary policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, notably the introduction in April of a special foreign exchange window for investors and exporters have been instrumental in the journey out of recession and its sustenance is important for further economic recovery. The special forex window grossed about $2.2 billion of trade in the first six weeks of its introduction and its impact on the market capitalization of Nigerian Stock Exchange – which jumped from N8.748 trillion in April to N11.463 trillion in July – is undeniable.

All this notwithstanding, the perennial issues of corruption, public sector bureaucracy and the high cost of running government remains. The duplicitous arrangement of line items in Nigeria’s 2017 budget berates hope of its ability to shape any lasting change in the life of the common man. Businesses still face the hurdle of multiple taxations coupled with the obdurate challenges of power and bad roads. A good number of Nigeria’s 36 states are broke, largely dependent on monthly revenue hand-outs from the federal government. The bulk of these monthly federal allocations, in turn, go into servicing the salaries of civil servants with little or nothing left for the execution of capital projects and provision of social amenities. Yet some of these states offered subsidies for religious pilgrimages this year alone up to the tune of N50 billion. President Muhammadu Buhari, whose campaign was built around his anti-corruption stance, has set about recovering funds looted under past administrations with resounding success. Critics, however, berate the former dictator for ignoring the corruption going on within his own administration.
