I love the way you explain you point but that is the point. the diversity is good and that is obviously the advantage in it....but are seeing ourselves as one?...caan a redeemer see a roman catholic member as a fellow brother in Christ?...
Biting the bullet, I would say we are STILL to accept ourselves as one.
It is obvious with debates/arguments we do have on NL.

Don't burn incense.
Don't bow down to Holy Mary.
Don't use Drums in the church.
Don't Dress like that.
Don't pay Tithe.
Don't go to Church.
Don't Pray as such.
Don't make/cover you Hair.
Don't believe there is Hell.

These are just mere doctrines of men fashioned out from the Bible or from
an event at a point in course of history, where "Jesus" is never compromised.

Some of us are yet to have an encounter with who we say we serve.
Some are Christians today cos their parents are Christians.
You likewise hear someone says, "I can never leave this religion/denomination"

"Over my dead body", he said when he was told to embrace Islam.
Help me ask if he was actually born into Islam, will he still rebuke.
The same with a Muslim becoming a neophyte.

Those that did research or encounter God have story to tell.
The question is "have u had an encounter with your maker or not?"

I have long time ago stopped castigating Churches and Islam but I wouldn't
call a spade a shovel when the need arises to enlighten, correct and warn.
(my beliefs will surely be tagged "false doctrine" by another)

What if I were born a Muslim?
What if I were born a Christian?
What if I were born an Atheist?
What if I were born a Buddhist?
What if I were born into Sango family?
What if I were.........................

Each person I mentioned above claims the others are on the wrong path.

And what makes you think you are on the right path?
What make you think you can make heaven?
Do you even know if God really does exist?

I see ourselves as one with "Jesus Christ" as a common-place.
No matter the religion, pray others have an encounter.

Genuine Encounter is the ultimate solution.

..So many
denominations; a blessing of a curse to Christianity?
.

For a long time i've been thinking seriously about this very question.
looking through the bible, i find out that the early believers never had
different churches for different group of believers....you'll only read
about the 'church at ephesus, @ corinth, @ Sardis, philipi,..e.t.c
which are only necessary because of distance/geographical locatns but
all are still under same leadership(the apostles and elders).
In I Corintians chapter 3, Apostle Paul warned the corithians when
issues of who to follow wanted to cause division among the believers; He
called this an act of canality.

Here we are with too many denominations with different
doctrines/traditions with some contradicting each other. I know there
are advantages to be derived in all these but is the disadvantages not
too much these days?
In John 17, Jesus prays for unity repeatedly and i strongly believe, it
is because of the future He saw then.

what is your say?...do you believe it is more of a problem than
blessing?....
air your view pls.!
God is dynamic. Of course we also should be dynamic. We are created in His likeness.

Many discoveries and inventions have been possible as a result divine deposition.
Adam was able to name every animal.

Years ago, we virtually had only Army.
But, today we have Navy, Air force, FRSC, Civil Service and the likes for the different purposes.
Humans improvised along the line for efficacy and efficiency.

Years before New Testament, only a congregation was allowed.
Years later in the New Testament, we have countable number of churches.

Churches can be likened to the Military.
As Air force is to the Air.
As Army is to the Ground.
As Navy is to the Water.
As Police is to Enforcing Law and others.
As FRSC is to Road Safety
As Civil service is to Ensure Peace
As Man' O War is to Supporting the Society Socially.
.........and many more.

So is;
Redeem Church to Praise
Winners Church to Prosperity
Deeperlife Church to the Word
MFM Church to Deliverance and Prayer
........and among other churches that share the same calling, but all bound together in Jesus Christ.

Though, we are many, but we are one body in Christ.
In as much as we have fake churches, so we have countless sound churches.
So, you have no excuse of not belonging to one. Know where you can fit in and be blessed.

@babyosisi ,with what I ve been able to read so far,you aren't helping matters by making everything go too public. How?

Even if you notice anything, you could have contacted the TEHNs behind closed doors as you people have been communicating cos I remember I read someone made mention that they have been sending you the results or so. What happened to the email addy you have been using to communicate?

I don't know if you have anything against the organisers but what you said that really disgust me is " stop wasting donors money" and you had to write that in bold letters.

I can say of Four people I know that i dragged here to donate who are not even members of nairaland and I was shocked when one called to say " dey just dey waste the money given to them" and a screen shot of what you said was sent to me. I was shocked cos I never knew he was still following the thread. I tried to explain but he said for someone who communicates with TEHNs back door to come out and say this means they have been spending anyhow and you had no choice than to drum it into our ears "with capital letter"that donors money is been wasted. TELL ME EVEN IF DJDOLA HAVE TO GO TO INDIA, HOW DO I CONVINCE HIM TO DONATE AGAIN? Or how do I convince some other people who will come here to read first before donating?

If you that got mails and result from them can come out and say this, what of we that contributed and the only thing we get to read is what we see here?

Note: don't think I'm trying to blame you leaving those who you are exchanging insult with but I decided to overlook all those and go to the most important thing to me because you all decided to insult each other willingly if not,you can all ignore the insults.

@busybody2, I will be frank with what I want to ask you now. Do u think with the way you asked about how money is being spent, doing calculations for them go well with someone who left his work, home and other things to drive down to the hospital and lab in this traffic coupled with the harsh weather be happy? I know you meant no harm but from what somethings you wrote, the people on the field won't be happy about it.

There is an email addy there which you can use to communicate whatever thing you think about this hospital extortion.

Dearie, not everyone have the patient to read and read and dealing with this kind of case where people "donate money to someone they don't know to support someone they don't know" and when they read of any mistake, alot of them will back off. So please, try and correct that.

I just can't imagine how DJDOLA will feel now regarding all the health issues with big names flying up and down just because we want people to know we know more.

The Lord is our strength and I believe he won't forsake us not after going this far. Amen.
Should I say the ONLY or MOST sensible post I have read since i came in today.

That embracement shall surely come by His grace.

lalasticlala:
5 years ago, precisely May 2009, Nigerian pop stars, Terry G (Gabriel Amanyi) and AY.com (Ayoola Johnson) released the hugely successful tune, ‘Pass me your love’ and not long after, they parted ways over allegations and counter allegations based on the ownership of the song.

Ay.com went on to release more singles like ‘Jombolo’, ‘Komagbon’ and others while Terry G also moved on with his career but since then, both singers have refused to have anything to do with each other and efforts to bring them together by mutual friends had been futile.

That was until last night when popular show promoter, Alex Ozone stepped in and settled the rift. It is worthy of note that before they parted ways, Terry G and Ay.com were best buddies and they made great songs together. Now they are both back in the studio and have just recorded a new hit single produced by Young D shortly after they settled the issue yesterday, December 16, 2014.

Speaking exclusively to NET, Alex Ozone said: ‘I called both of them separately to have a meeting with them without letting the other person know, so they both came at about the same time and surprisingly met themselves at the studio. Before now we’ve tried settling the issue but it’s never been successful, but I guess they are both matured now because they both have families and so they shook hands and that was it. To make sure everything was truly over, we made them record a song together because Young D had initially produced a beat for Terry G and trust me, the song is fantastic.’

The new song recorded by Terry G and Ay.com will be released before the year runs out.

It is easier and more objective for people to fear the known.
Education › Re: Futminna: Two Students In Hijab Nearly Lynched by ayobase(m): 10:55pm On Dec 19, 2014
umaryusuf:
Two female undergraduate students of the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, Friday, were nearly lynched to death by irate members of the public when they were suspected and accused of being suicide bombers.

The students who were dressed in hijab (Islamic apparel for women) were returning to resume school when some members of the public at Central mosque Minna raised alarm that the two ladies were suspected to be suicide bombers.

Eye witness said that the two victims who were dressed covering all their bodies and faces were trying to walk across the frontage of the mosque when the jumat prayers were about to be said.

Their mode of dressing and the bags they were carrying attracted the attention of other worshippers and this led to the raising of alarm but for Police intervention the two ladies would have been lynched to death. One of the victims was injured by the irate crowd and she is currently receiving treatment from Police Clinic in Minna.

When contacted Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ibrahim Gambari confirmed the incident but said that the two victims were wrongly accused.

“When the attention of our men on duty was drawn to the ladies, they were subjected to bodily search and their bags also whisked and nothing incriminating were found on them. We were able to establish that the two of them are returning students of FUT Minna. Their mode of dressing made people to suspect them.

“It took the timely intervention of our men as members of the public had started to beat up one of the ladies leading to the point of sustaining some injuries and she is being treated at the Police Clinic,” Gambari state.

The Police spokesman, who decried the mob action of members of the public, advised that Police should be allowed to do their work after complaint must have been lodged.

To helping and enhancing security measures alongside avoiding deadly misrepresentation, it is high time we embraced the shorter hijab instead of the over-all one biko.

This is not about any religion, but for the good of all.

some hijabs are just agbada-like in nature ...... the shorter one are cute and smart.
