Monisola Margret Olaoye, a Director in the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue who was kidnapped penultimate Thursday has been released, SaharaReporters just learned.

Mrs. Olaoye was released last Thursday by her abductors suspected to be armed Fulani herdsmen terrorizing the notorious Lagos-Benin expressway.

SaharaReporters gathered that the release of the female director who is in charge of PAYE-C in the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue was the result of negotiation between the kidnappers and her family members.

A source who is close to the victim's family confirmed the news to our correspondent in a telephone chat.

The source who pleaded anonymity said the female Director was released by the side of the road after her abductors confirmed the payment of a ransom.

"Mrs. Olaoye was released this Thursday evening by her abductors after family members and colleagues finally raised the sum of N5 million as ransom to effect her release from captivity.

Mrs. Olaoye is currently on an admission at the Trauma Centre in Ondo where she is receiving treatment because she is too weak to stand.

"Immediately, she has released some people in her office were contacted by the gunmen and she was rushed to the government facility at Ondo town," the source said in a chat.

Femi Joseph, police spokesman in Ondo State could not be reached for comment over the release of the female Director.

Unknown gunmen have again kidnapped a top Director in the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue, Monisola Margaret Olaoye, Sahara Reporters has learned.

The kidnap is coming a week after a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olumide Odimayo, was abducted by gunmen and later found dead in a creek at Ajagba area of the state.

Mrs. Olaoye was abducted on Thursday evening by the gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on the notorious Ore expressway while on her way to Lagos for a private function.

A source who is very close to the victim confirmed the news to SaharaReporters in an emergency phone call and revealed that the armed men whisked her away.

The source said Mrs. Olaoye's driver was also kidnapped with her.

The 19 year old daughter of APC councillorship candidate in Odi Olowo Local council development area of Lagos state, Bode Adeosun, Bukola, who was kidnapped at the Illupeju area of Lagos state on Tuesday June 20th, has regained her freedom.

Bukola was out running an errand with her sister when she was abducted by some persons riding in a black Toyota car. The kidnappers ordered her into their vehicle at gunpoint and drove off with her.
