Nigerian Supermodel, Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi has slammed reports that 16-year Janet Jumbo is the first Nigerian model to walk for Louis Vuitton.

Oluchi shut down the report by sharing a photo of herself walking for Louis Vuitton in 2009, confirming she was the first Nigerian to achieve the feat.

She shared the photo of herself and wrote on Instagram;

"� Normally, I will just look away and laugh. But the “Iranu” can get out of hand. Thanks to Social Media, mother agents are getting more desperate by the seconds. President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf, who started his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, for the 2018 batch C stream 1, has already received his NYSC discharge certificate.

Yusuf received his certificate yesterday, March 15th during the 2018 Batch A Passing Out Parade.

The compulsory National service is 12 months, but calculating by when his sister, Zahra Indimi, confirmed in November that the President’s son had started the mandatory NYSC, Yusuf has done only 4 out of the 12 months of his NYSC and already has his certificate.

Zahra shared the information on her Insta-story on Instagram, showing Yusuf’s photograph in the NYSC kit.

Recall that the day Zahra shared the photo, 2018 batch C corps members had just resumed in camp.

This is already raising questions. Did he start earlier before his sister showed made the post?

The April 2019 issue is tagged “The Global Issue” and has two covers celebrating 14 global superstars from 14 different countries.

One of the school children who died in Wednesday’s Lagos school building collapse told his mum he didn’t want to go to school on the day, being his birthday, SR reports.

A three-storeyed building including the Ohen Nursery and Primary School, Ita Faji, Lagos Island, collapsed on Wednesday morning, killing at least 12 people as of yesterday’s count.

Families and neighbours of the victims were heard giving different accounts of what might have been done to avert the incident.

One parent who became an emergency worker overnight said:

“I have rescued my five-year-old son, he survived; now I'm here to help others but the LASEMA officials are making things very difficult and slow.”

He added that another child killed in the accident might have been alive had events gone another way.

“Today is the boy’s birthday; he said he didn't want to go to school because it's his birthday but his mother insisted. He was among those that first died.”

Another said:

“A woman couldn't afford fees so she came to beg in the morning but the proprietor turned her back with her child; she has just heard what happened and is thanking God.”

One story which seemed very consistent among the crowd at the scene of the incident and at the hospital is that “of a woman who has about 15 to 20 (depending on who's telling the story) kids with her and who are all trapped in rubble”.

They all said the woman was able to “call someone on the phone to give a picture of things in the rubble but warned that she may run out of phone battery soon".

Rescue efforts at the crash are expected to continue on Thursday.

Many primary school pupils are feared dead after a three-storeyed building at Ita Faji, Lagos Island, collapsed around 10am today, Wednesday 13th March.

The school was said to be on the last floor.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Kehinde Adebayo, confirmed the collapse, adding that emergency officials were already on ground.

According to reports, 50 pupils have been rescued in all. They are currently receiving treatment at the Lagos Island Hospital, Marina.

Social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has decided to school the National Chairman and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the alleged partaking of two governors from Niger who were present at the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential rally in Kano state.

Reports from the opposition had said that Buhari and the ruling APC have structurally came up with ways of using Nigerians to rig the forthcoming February 16th presidential election.

She said that the freedom of association that can be seen in the 1999 constitution gave Nigerians the right to associate with anyone in the world.

She replied this accusation with these words,

“There’s freedom of Association in the world. PDP IS A STONE AGE PARTY. I hope members of @OfficialPDPNig involved in this accident during a campaign when the podium collapsed are okay. I pray they are all fine. #PDPCuttingCorners. We can’t hand them our nation anymore. Nigeria is in safe hands. Nigerians no longer tolerate the pilfering of their common wealth. A 50-year old palm wine seller, Matthew Idahosa, has been killed by a supposed lover of one of his daughters from whom he reportedly demanded the sum of N3m as compensation.

Late Matthew was said to have been bitter that the daughter’s lover, Atekha Iyare, a vulcanizer succeeded in sleeping with her.

The incident happened at Oza village in Orhionmwon local government area.

Atekha, aged 50, who was paraded at the Edo State Police Command said he was shocked that the girl’s father said he would not marry even if he paid the N3m.

He said the girl is a student and that both of them were lovers.

The suspect said he fled from the village when late Matthew was using policemen to harass him after the love affair bubble burst.

According to him,

“I[i] thought the father had forgiven me because I ate rice in their house on Christmas Day. The father brought policemen and the matter was being settled.

“I ran to the bush when the man threatened to kill if I did not pay the money. They told him to give me his daughter if I paid the money but he said no.

“When hunger was too much, I came out and decided to face the consequences. The man saw me while going to the farm and we started fighting. He held a gun while I held a wood.

“When I managed to get the cutlass from him, I cut him on the face and ran away with his motorcycle to avoid arrest. I was arrested by vigilante in Afuze, Owan East local government area.[/i]”

Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said the suspect would soon be charged to court after investigations have been concluded.

Legendary singer, 2Face Idibia, has revealed that yesterday was the happiest day of his life, following his wife, Annie Idibia, and his first baby mama, Pero Adeniyi's reconciliation.

Annie and Pero put their differences aside at an event held yesterday at Crescendo Lounge in Ikeja.

Both women hugged as 2Face’s One Love sang in the background.

The gesture moved 2Face to tears and he could not control his emotions and broke down sobbing as both women included him in a group hug.

Lists.ng has compiled a list of 15 time the The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has gone on Strike since 1999. 

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday began an indefinite strike action over the non-implementation of the Memorandum of Action (MOA) signed with the Federal Government.

The strike action which began with immediate effect, according to the National President of ASUU, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi said would cover both the Federal and State owned universities.

According to Prof Ogunyemi all entreaties made to the Federal Government to honour the agreement with the union fell on deaf ears and they have no other option than to begin an indefinite strike action.

ASUU strike over the years has robbed students of their time in the university.

It has become a norm that students in Public Universities in Nigeria shouldn’t expect to graduate at the expected time of graduation because there’s probably going to be one strike or the other. When ASUU is not striking, NASU is striking.

In all of these, the government has still not improved the educational sector in Nigeria.

Let’s look at 15 times ASUU has gone on strike in Nigeria and how long the strikes were;

1999 – 5 months
2001 – 3 months
2002 – 2 weeks
2003 – 6 months (ended in 2004)
2005 – 3 days
2006 – 1 week
2007 – 3 months
2008 – Two 1-week warning strikes
2009 – 4 months
2010 – 5 months, 1 week
2011 – 3 months (ended in 2012)
2013 – 5 months, 13 days
2016 – 1 week warning strike
2017 – 1 month, 6 days
2018 – 1 day and still counting…


In all approximately 37 months have been spent on strikes between 1999 to 2018. The average Nigerian graduate/university student in Nigeria is the victim in all of these.

So, we have been wondering what happened to DJ Xclusive's marriage, as we have seen or heard nothing about it since after the wedding in 2016.

Rotimi “DJ Xclusive” Alakija & Tinuke Ogundero had an exquisite wedding on October 3rd 2015 in Lagos, with several celebrities in attendance.

During an interview one month after his wedding with Vanguard, DJ Xclusive revealed he doesn't like talking about his marriage;

‘I don’t like talking about my marriage, so I’d rather we don’t even go there at all.’ he said.

Could this be the reason nothing has been seen or heard about his marriage or wife since after the ceremony?
