Nigerian rapper, Ikechukwu Onunaku has reacted to video of SARS operatives attacking a young man for not handing them his phone. According to him, he will disarm and shoot any SARS operatives if they run into him. Read his post below... "When i say this i really mean it, the day these type of individuals run into me i might end up dying that day. Truth is how much humility and calm are u supposed to have? Even if we want to believe that God is using the situation to test us , will he test us to our death and demise? For what reason is such an individual wearing the uniform of one who is supposed to protect and serve the same person he is bludgeoning and raping of his rights in broad daylight so bold and so arrogant with slaps to follow and insults. Then more planking . My God i beg u please cos i will disarm that fool and shoot him with his own gun. I swear on it. If u powers that be cant do what is necessary then step the Bleep outta office and outta the way and allow people who are about change and fairness and rules and regulations and proper protocols and due process take ur place. For u are the tumbleweed and the winds are high , the storm that in brewing is nigh, overspill is inevitable, and the drops i feel upon my umbrella. This rain shall pour and it will be torrential. A Nigerian man, Abolaji Dairo, has taken to Facebook to write about how he was molested by their housemaid at 7. He revealed how she made him do all sort of things with her to satisfy her sexual fantasies. Read his story below... "MY FIRST SEXUAL EXPERIENCE I got introduced to sex at about 7years old by our house maid. Looking back now, she must have been in her late teens or early twenties then. I had gone to my dad's house for the holidays (we weren't living together) and they had this house help hired by my stepmom. The memory of how and when it actually started fails me. It happened repeatedly and she would threaten to kill me if I told anyone. Somehow, I believed her and I couldn't tell anyone, but I remember that I would cry whenever I was to be left alone with her at home. All my cryings kind of added to her pleasure as she would dip my head in-between her thighs to make me suck on her. It was as if she had a built-up fantasy and eagerly wanted to experiment. She made me do all sorts, I should spare you the details. I later resigned myself to my fate with her, and it continued till the end of the holiday. I remember the fears I had and the feelings of helplessness. My folks never suspected a thing. They probably thought I was just throwing childish tantrums whenever I was to be left with her. Decades down the line, I still shiver whenever I remember my helplessness that day. Well, this experience was like a forerunner to others that followed. The boy child is already at a disadvantage. Even if he could give an account of what transpired, who would believe him? How does he prove that his person had been violated? Unlike the girl child, he does not bleed when molested. You might not notice it in his walk and you probably won't find any evidence even if you subject him to physical examination. But the act often leaves the very essence of his being shredded. Worst still, the society expects him to keep quiet, he fears being called a weakling. So he sucks it all in, the experience builds up, stratas upon startas until a character and an identity is formed. You should pay attention to the boy child too. That compulsive behavior, that sudden mood swings... they might be his way of dealing with the insanity he was delt. If only you knew that his Rome was not built in a day. I urge us all to join in this advocacy. If you would like to share your experience without your name being mentioned (that is anonymously), please chat me up. #BoysLivesMatters #LettersToFathers" Yes! Young boys are molested too and it's sad the society don't take this as serious as we take girl child molestation. http://www.amagitesblog.com/2019/03/nigerian-man-writes-about-his-first-sexual-experience-at-the-age-of-7.html Cc; Lalasticlala

From; Amagitesblog.com Hey guys, so here's my 2 cents on the heated Big brother Naija Reunion show that saw Alex crying and leaving the show. I am a BBNaija fan, most of you know that already. I watched the 2nd season, See Gobbe in 2017, and I also watched the 3rd season, Double Wahala last year. To be honest, Double Wahala was more than Double Wahala, I almost started calling it ' Toxic Wahala' for obvious reasons. So, let's get down to what happened at the reunion. The show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu threw a question at Alex and Cee-C, asking them why they have not been cool even outside the house. If you watched the show, you'd know how those two were in the house, and this was for the obvious reason that Tobi got tired of begging Cee-C for basically no reason, got tired of her 'emotional abuse' and moved on for his own sanity and focused more on the game. Recall that the second pairing got Alex and Tobi closer (Tolex). A friendship many people, even I admired. So, back to the reunion. Alex was the first to react to the question Ebuka asked herself and Cee-C. Alex explained with scenarios, how she tried to be cool with Cee-C after the show, but she was always getting the red light, so she stayed off. In her explanation, Alex talked about how on the night of the show finale, how Cee-C came to look for Tobi in her (Alex) room, tried to talk to him but he refused, then asked Alex to come to hers that she wanted them to talk. According to Alex, they talked and everything was cool, until they got to Nigeria where they were still in same hotel, she went to Cee-C's room and her sisters told her Cee-C didn't want to see her and they slammed the door at her. She then explained of other places she tried to talk to Cee-C but got the red light. Now to Cee-C's explanation on why they are not cool. Cee-C explained that when they entered a plane back to Nigeria, the first thing Nina told her was "Do you know Alex and Tobi had sex"? Something according to Nina, Miracle told her! Well, I'd stop here, and this is what I think. I think Cee-C was angry 'Alex had sex with Tobi' after pretending to not have anything with Tobi, and even giving her (Cee-C) a listening ear whenever she wanted to talk about her problems with Tobi. I think Cee-C felt Alex was a snake for doing that. I think Cee-C is right for feeling this way, because how do you turn around and sleep with the guy you know I really like, and I always talk to you about? And concluding from when Nina gave Cee-C the gist, Alex had sex with Tobi in South Africa before they got to Nigeria. I feel Cee-C felt betrayed by Alex and wanted to stay away from a 'hypocrite', hence not wanting her in her space at all. Cee-C's only problem with Alex inside the house was being too close to Tobi, and her only problem with her outside the house, was having sex with Tobi. So, basically, her only problem with Alex is TOBI! This is me justifying Cee-C's anger. But then again, isn't it time Cee-C moved on from Tobi and whatever happened? The last time we checked, she was always claiming she didn't want him again. So, why are you still angry till now, it's been over one year. So, for those who were saying Alex didn't owe Cee-C anything and was not wrong for having sex with Tobi. I feel Alex and Tobi didn't have sex in South Africa, I feel they had sex in Nigeria, and by this time, everyone had moved on, even Cee-C was no longer in the picture. Plus, Cee-C was even closer to Leo. So everyone was enjoying on their lane! Now moving on... Cee-C doesn't need to be friends with Alex, and Alex had said that too, but she just wants them to be cool because their fans are taking the fight thing to another level an it's crazy. I also feel Cee-C is enjoying the fans war more, as she has never publicly called for a truce. We all know Cee-C saying she doesn't have a problem... The National Population Commission has said the next census will cost well over N220bn. The Director-General of the NPC, Dr. Ghaji Ismail, said this in Abuja on Tuesday at the commencement of fieldwork for the continuation of the Enumeration Area Demarcation. He said the 2015 budget for the proposed 2016 census which eventually did not take place was put at N220bn. Ismail said with currency devaluation and inflation rates, the commission would require much more than N220bn to conduct a census. The DG said, “How much will it cost? At this point in time it is going to be very difficult because there have been changes. It is not something you can say off hand but if we deduce from our previous submission in 2015 hoping that it would take place in 2016, a lot has changed in terms of currency devaluation but if we are to use the 2015 submission, we are looking at a submission of over N220bn.” Ismail said although the 2019 budget proposal had no provision for a census, a separate budget could be submitted for the exercise. http://www.amagitesblog.com/2019/03/population-commission-reveals-what-the-next-census-will-cost.html

An international student at the Coventry University, Moboluwarin Ayeye, who called for a ban on Amala in a class presentation, has said that he was proud of his Yoruba heritage and also as a Nigerian man. In a chat with Punch, Ayeye, who simply goes by Bolu on his Twitter handle, said, “I love being a Yoruba and Nigerian man, and proud of it (most of the time).” He added that the presentation was part of a class project to help students improve their presentation skills, hence, the content of the presentation didn’t really matter. “The class’ name is Presentation Skills for Successful Graduates and it’s a class on improving and working on media and presentation skills. So, the goal isn’t necessarily about the content, more so about demonstrating excellent presentation and media skills. “So, while I had spent weeks practising and perfecting my presentation and media skills, the subject matter during the class mattered little. It just had to a have lot of information and more importantly, I had to showcase strong presentation and speaking skills, a bit of a challenge for me, as I had always struggled talking to groups of people. “But what people didn’t know was that it wasn’t a serious slide in my presentation in the first place. It was one of two ice breakers I had prepared to make my presentation more exciting and engaging for my class. “The first to my fellow Africans in the room to catch their attention and the second one, ‘Why Superman is the greatest hero of all times,’ to catch everyone in general’s attention. What is funny in the end, I realised while practising I wouldn’t even have the time to use these two joke icebreaker slides and skipped over them during my slides, the real presentation was actually on Brexit.” He revealed that he enjoys annoying his friends and followers on social media. While, he wasn’t bothered about the backlash that came with the Amala brouhaha, Bolu stated that his parents were also dragged into the matter and with that, he wasn’t okay. “It was not my intention for it to be taken seriously, and I apologise if people thought I was berating their culture in another person’s land and for that, I understand the anger and vitriol, or if I thought Amala is nasty, in reality, I really don’t care much for it, it’s not bad, it’s not fufu (just kidding again) . “I didn’t mind the insults when they were directed at me and I really don’t care for them. I mean people can’t beat me over the WiFi and in a few days, people would forget. But what I didn’t enjoy or find fair was the insults to my family. That was out of bounds. My parents are good people, might I say, excellent people, the very best of the best, you can’t find better people and they don’t deserve or warrant such insults over a joke.” http://www.amagitesblog.com/2019/03/uk-based-nigerian-student-who-called-for-ban-of-amala-apologizes.html Cc; Lalasticlala

Bob Otobong, a 26-year old lawyer is part of the House of Assembly members in Akwa Ibom state. Bob, who turned 26 in August 2018, contested in Nsit Ubium state constituency, under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and won. In this interview with Bella Naija, he spoke about his inspiration going into politics, his winning strategy, and advice to young Nigerians who want to go into politics. Here’s what Bob shared; What inspired you to go into politics? Just like every other Nigerian, I have always believed that the government owes Nigerians more. I believe there is always more the government can do to make Nigerians happy. In essence, the citizens are the number one priority of any government. I equally understand that there can never be too many progressive individuals with a heart full of genuine love for service to the people in government. Secondly, considering that I am young, with fresh ideas, I believe I am part of a generation that will chart the course of our nation’s future. Did you dream of going into politics when you were little, or it came along the way? Yes, I did. I had the rare privilege of being raised by a man who has lived a life that epitomizes effective service to his people. My father (Senator Effiong Dickson Bob) served at different levels of government through his lifetime, while holding his head high in excellence. So I was exposed early to the intricacies of being a politician in a country such as ours, as well as thriving while holding on to the principles that drive your vision. This sparked a keen interest and an early desire in me. In my younger days, I would imagine myself in a position of leadership, being responsible for the interests of so many people and standing firm through the rigors of Nigerian politics. This scared me sometimes, I must say. However, as I grew older, the better I understood that it was ultimately God’s responsibility to determine my destiny. So I continued to live my life, believing that God’s will would eventually come to manifestation. What were your strategies to winning your party’s mandate and then the election afterwards? The very foundation of my strategy is God Almighty. I have grown to believe wholeheartedly that those who put their trust in God can never be ashamed. I was equally blessed to have a strong, hardworking and passionate team to work with. We pursued this project with rigor, full commitment and dedication. By committing to consolidating on the achievements of my predecessor while providing assurances of a fresh and new approach to uniting and developing our constituency, we were able to find a balance that afforded us a chance to appeal to the electorate, cutting across age and gender. We are charged with a vision to unite our constituency under one strong voice and to facilitate development to ensure that there is room for everybody, old or young, male or female, to be carried along. Did you experience ageism? How were you able to deal with it? Of course I did. This is Nigeria. It was the renowned author Chinua Achebe who described Nigerians as a people who respond more to the symbolic than the actual. Our cultural values have molded us to believe that age is a parameter for competence, maturity and capacity. Many have forgotten that the founders of Nigerian democracy, such as Sir Tafawa Balewa included youths in his cabinet, such as the late M.T Mbu, who was appointed Minister of Labour at the age of 24. He had no prior experience, he was just a young man who was determined to work for his country. Furthermore, my approach was to objectively and constructively engage with stakeholders and the electorate, encouraging the focus to be on the message and not the messenger. It was challenging but by the time the Not Too Young to Run Bill was passed, and in the light of the new wave of young leaders emerging all over the world, we were able to capitalize on all that favored us at the time, while still holding strongly to our message. By the time I emerged the candidate of the party, age began to hold less relevance. When did you venture into politics? It’s been just over a year now. Is this your first time contesting for public office? Yes, it is. Have you worked in the government or held any public office prior to now? No, I have not. But I have experience in the private sector as a lawyer. Final word to young Nigerians looking to go into politics. Like I said earlier, there can never be too many progressive individuals with a heart full of genuine love for and spirit of service to the people in government. Bearing this in mind, we can also agree on the fact that what becomes of Nigeria over the next century is largely determined by the choices we make today on our level of involvement in government. We should start from the bottom of the pyramid so that we might walk through the stages of governance to the top. We should ensure at each level that we make the essential impact through creative and sustainable policies, so that when we reach the top of the pyramid the necessary structure is already built for rapid development. Admittedly, delving through Nigeria’s political terrain is not a walk in the park; but with the rising level of youth participation in governance all over the world, it would be a shame if Nigeria fails to get caught up in its domino effect. I expect and encourage more young people to get involved and interested in their own way, engage with your community, and let us all jointly chart a new course to move Nigeria forward. May God bless us all. http://www.amagitesblog.com/2019/03/meet-26-year-old-bob-otobong-who-won-a-seat-at-akwa-ibom-house-of-assembly.html
