rsavvy: Trust that I will have done that extensively before coming here . I even have all the documents needed already. I just want to know if there's anyone here that's done it? The docs they submitted ? how long it took to get a response? etc ...so to have a second opinion on my methods Ok. I did it some weeks back. We submitted all the documents relevant or irrelevant. Acct statement, cheques, proof of relationship including pictures, hone ties and a letter that explained my reasons for visiting my spouse and that I needed to work while visiting. It took about 5 weeks and half before I got called for medicals. Got medical passed within 2days. And the rest was easy. Took about 8 weeks in all. Although our stories may be different, just know prayer is key, both before and after the application and totally trust God. I hope that was helpful? |

Khalesi: Yay! My application has been approved. My toddler and I.
UOttawa MEng Jan 2016 Upfront Medicals. Online application submitted 26th Biometrics 29th September Passport Request 8th October Passport sent 12th October Approval 15th October
12 work days in all. Thanks to you all that have contributed to this thread in one way or the other. Special thanks to Team12, I never contacted you but knowing we have similar circumstances I followed your posts closely. Wishing all TRV hopefuls same success stories. Just put in your best in your application and leave the rest to God. While packaging your application, put yourself in the position of a VO and give detailed explanation and support documents to answer any question/clarification you think they may need.
Time to go search for accommodation and alternate child care center. The waitlist seems to be on snail speed.

Ok.....so I started following this trend recently. I applied for SOWP and I got my TRV. I know most people here are applying for study permit, but just to encourage those that have spouses that would like to apply in the future. Application.......Aug 12th Biometrics.........Aug 14th Medical Request mail.........September 21st Medical done...........September 22nd Medical passed.........September 25th Passport Request.........October 7th Approval mail.....October 13th
Its not by my power, its all my God's grace.. To all TRV hopefuls, keep holding on to God and let him be the center of it all. Your TRVs will be approved. |

@ ayooluwatoni
Hello, please cic messaged me and said your passport has been collected from the Canada Visa Application Centre,Lagos. Without any attachment. 1. Is it that they have sent the passport back with the courier service I used? 2. Is there going to be a separate mail that will contain letter of approval? Cos my cic said my app has been approved. Thanks |

ayooluwatoni: Though I didn't do online, but I don't think u'll get any receipt notification. Normally it takes about 48hrs after they receive your passport to issue you trv, but things are unpredictable with CIC these days......just keep calm, and you will be fine by God's grace! Thank you |

ayooluwatoni: You got approval mail, so u sent what through courier? If what you sent to embassy was your passport, then I should ask you to check the mails you got well, it probably may be passport request mail. But if it's approval mail like you claim, then I honestly don't understand you question. Oh...thanks for clearing that for me, I thought approval mail is same as passport request mail. I got passport request mail, but I have not heard anything from them concerning the receipt of the passport. Isn't there suppose to be one? That's my question Thanks |

Please I would like to know how long it takes for them to request for passport after the medicals have been passed. Thanks in advance for your time |
