Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Uruguay - Player Rating by Ayodeleshow: 10:56am On Jun 21, 2013
All the team needs is to get prolific strikers. The defense and midfield for me are worldclass. I agree with the ratings except that Echiejile deserves a 6. He's learning fast and able to distabilize world bests. Suarez was barely seen for 90mins. Mikel was masterclass. Uruguay had more midfielders but Mikel commanded that Midfield truout the game. Those saying Musa is good definitely are not kept abreast with the new trends in world football. That's why man united will never sign usain Bolt no matter how much he pleads. Great speed is useless is you lack finishing. Musa has a bright future if he can work on and perfect his finishing. Ideye's only problem is alertness, sharpness and quick movements. if he can work on that, he'd be worldclass. if he was alert to a lot of Mikel's defence splitting passes, he'd have scored a bundle yesterday. i'm so sure if he was the one who got the ball the way Mikel got and scored it, we would not have had a goal. Mikel was alert, sharp and you saw the results BAM!! into the top corner. If Nigeria can get a Neymar for example, we'd bury any team trust me

Family / A Father's Letter To His Unborn Child.......(brought Tears To My Eyes) by Ayodeleshow: 12:48am On Jun 04, 2013
My child,

Its just over 31 months since that day I took the stroll down the aisle with your mummy and said our vows before God and man. Since that day, we have been waiting expectantly for you. Sometimes we wonder what is taking you so long. Sometimes we imagine its taking so long because you must be very special. Most times our hearts have remained undoubtedly sure that your coming is very close, and in fact closer than we think. But then, you do not need to keep us waiting anymore.

But don’t think we have not done our fair share of things that are believed will make you come quickly. I have been severally tested and found to be perfect, having millions of you inside me. Mummy has been severally tested too and everything is in place, no cysts, no fibroids. And we have sown seeds too, financially and otherwise. We have invested in other children and continue to do so. We have followed plethora of advice on what and what not to do. We have not allowed our expectations to metamorphose into anxiety… yet you are yet to come.

And you know what? Mummy needs you! There is just something about African culture and the African woman that has made having you a certificate of completeness. You are the very person she needs right now. She has God, she has me, but she needs you to balance the equation. She has heard how discomfiting pregnancy can be... and how much more painful labour is too. But I can tell you that she is ready to go through all of that and more just to have you. Mummy G that has a 3yr-old and a 2yr-old just gave birth another 2 months ago. Mummy T that has a 2yr+ old is already carrying another. These people live in the same compound with mummy. Infact, your uncle and aunty that married after your mummy and daddy already hold their children in their hands. Granddaddy and Grandmummy are not putting mummy under pressure. They call her from time to time to encourage her to be patient. My siblings and hers do the same too. But little by little, mummy is beginning to put herself under pressure. I am doing everything I can to help her, but I need you to help me.

And don’t think that I don’t want you too! I want you with the last drop of my blood. I love you so much my heart literally aches sometimes. Children’s day was celebrated yesterday in church and it was beautiful. My eyes were flooded with tears to see so many lovely children showcasing their talents. I know that if you were here, you would have been one of the best! Anyway, I bought some gifts for children that are needy on your behalf; so know that your name is already recorded in church!

Today is Children's Day. If you were here, I would have taken the day off work to have fun with you at Inspiration FM’s Children Day’s Carnival at Dreamworld Africana. We would have had many lovely rides and yummy ice cream together, and I would have been overwhelmed just to hear you laugh. Nothing can describe how I would feel just to hold you in my arms knowing that you are my seed become flesh.

Please do not heed all the bad news on the airwaves and think the world is bad place. Do not listen to statistics that show that Nigeria is uninhabitable. We have sworn to do all we can to make the world a beautiful place for you. You will meet many challenges, but most importantly, you would have been prepared to overcome them.

I have to stop now because am in the office and my eyes are teary again. My boss just asked what’s wrong my eyes (lol) so I have to run before they find I have been crying. But am not ashamed to cry if it will make you come quickly. I know that we will surmount any mountain to finally have you in our arms… it’s just that waiting can be so hard sometimes.

We love you as no other human can ever and will ever do.

From the best Dad you could ever have

Jobs/Vacancies / As A Microbiologist, Can I Apply To Shell Or Chevron? by Ayodeleshow: 8:44pm On May 08, 2013
Good day fellow nairalanders. Please i really need an informed advice/guideline from those of you who probably worked/ still working/ knows someone working in any of the companies mentioned above (shell/chevron). I'm a microbiologist and would really love to work with shell or chevron. But when i logged into their site, i didn't see my course of study listed among the various degrees. A friend told me microbiologists can apply but doesn't know how. so i would be immensely grateful if i could get a proper guideline. i believe this could help many others out there too. thanks as you respond

Oga Op, i understand your fear but ask yourself one true question. with all the boko haram insurgence, insecurity, etc, are thousands of people not still living fine in every northern state? coz if it was so bad, everyone would have fled the states. Another question is, do pple not die in the south on daily basis? accidents, fights, etc. Bottom line is, where ever you find yourself, just pray for God's protection. your everyday prayer is never to be found around any place when violence will erupt. God will see you tru. Abeg i dey find work for north too as i no gree see work for lag. whoever get sure info, abeg pm me o. God bless you as you do so.

i dont know about that honey. why not try to get a black one at least. coz i'm not sure i've seen a banker in brown suit before. i cant say sha. it just might be allowed for ladies. if you can get another colour, fine. if you cant, then go with what you have.

Congrats to all of you who got your 1st interview text today. Now the real test begins. Dress-wise, For the guys, make sure you leave no strand of beard on your chin. shave well, only white and sky blue shirts are permitted for the interview. Also make sure your suit is black or dark blue, any good tie goes. For the ladies, put on a conservative coloured suit (grey, ash, black etc). Just dress like you plan to resume work immediately. i'm not gonna talk further about the tips, just go tru past pages, u'll find tips in abundance. Pray well, study hard, know your cv well and be prepared for anything. Success is surely urs. i hope to hear of ur congratulatory messages soon. To my fellow aggitated Lag friends awaiting interview, make una no dey vent anger here o, God that started the journey this way knows why its taking so long. Forget abt anyone overtaking us, what is ours will surely come in God's time. (Shalom)
