I wish you would have been more precise in your last comment and this one as well. Saying the the government is investing long-term must be backed up with examples. I am not a supporter of any of the major parties but I would like the current government to present a more comprehensive plan based on solid macroeconomics. Though building bridges and roads improves the infrastructure and creates employment which in turn will raise people from poverty and boost the economy, poverty has been insignificantly reduced and unemployment is still high, which means not enough is done.

And these are the kinds of answers that irritate me about all Nigerian politicians:

Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) has berated those criticising President Muhammadu Buhari’s $30b loan request, accusing them of ignorance.

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Sagay said those claiming that in less than five years, President Buhari has borrowed more than his predecessors combined since 1999 are hypocrites who failed to match the loans with massive projects on the ground.

He argued that since taking over in 2015, President Buhari has carried out more projects than former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, late Umaru Yar’adua and Goodluck Jonathan.

” I will say that he has effected and carried out more projects than Obasanjo, Yar’Adua, and Jonathan. You do not achieve all these by air. It is money that is used”.

” I think people criticizing the loan request are ignorant because a loan in itself is not bad, it is what you do with the loan that matters,” he said.
